Sign in to YouTube: You can use your COE.EDU account:
Go to My Channel:
Create Channel (you can delete it later if you want):
Choose Upload video:
Go to a new browser window and download the airplane video from the course website to the desktop. In Firefox, simply click on the link to the video, then right-click and select Save Video As.
Choose Privacy Settings: Public: Unrestricted video. Most YouTube videos are set to public. Choose Public today. Unlisted: Your video will not come up in search results or on your channel either. Only those who know the link can view it, and you can share the link with anyone, even those who do not have a YouTube account/username. This means that this video could still be seen by anyone, but only if they guess the link! Source: Studio 300 Blog Private: Only those you invite to view the video can view it (they must have their own Youtube accounts and the maximum number is 50 usernames). Your video will not come up under any search results or your channel list. If you try to share it with someone who wasn t invited, they will not be able to connect to it. Source: Studio 300 Blog Scheduled: Choose when the video is available.
Click Select files to upload and browse to the airplane video. Upload it. Verify your account with a phone number. This enables certain features, like thumbnails.
Enter 6 digit code. Press Continue
Go to video manager:
Edit the airplane video:
Download the thumbnail to the dekstop from the course website. It was made from a Word file (also available at the course website). If you make your own thumbnail it needs to be sized at 1280 X 720 Pixels. You can control pixel dimensions in photography programs and Paint (free). Right-click on the file and select Save Image as and save it to the desktop.
As a note for future reference: In Paint you can resize to the correct YouTube dimensions. Select resize: Select 1280 X 720. Uncheck maintain aspect ratio: It s best if your image is already cropped as close as possible to 1280 X 720 before you crop to those exact dimensions without maintaining the aspect ratio, otherwise it may look stretched.

Select Cards: Cards are used to add a CTA (call to action) to your videos. Typically you d like to control the direction of viewers, and a call to action is a method for directing them to content you want them to see.
Adding a call to action to an external website requires an assessment by YouTube of your account:

Choose a video to link to & a Patreon account: Use Patreon for the link. Patreon is a place where fans can support YouTube producers. If it isn t working (I ve noticed a bug today) just delete the link portion of the End Screen.
Move around the video link and subscribe button:
Save your changes.
Add basic information: The keywords are important. Add several so that users can find your video. Trendjacking (Source: TweakYourBiz) This might be an example of ill-advised Trendjacking. Taking advantage of disasters or accidents to promote your business can backfire.
Modify advanced settings: Allowing comments is essential in most cases. Positive feedback will help your goals. Positive feedback can sometimes be regarded as a type of Earned Media, even though it occurs on your own YouTube account (Your Owned Media).
