As premier Metro Ethernet access switches, the Cisco Metro Series switches bring greater intelligence to the Metro Ethernet edge and help enable the delivery of differentiated Metro Ethernet services. As a market and technology leader in Metro Ethernet access, Cisco continues to enhance the Cisco Metro Series with this migration to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S. This product bulletin describes content and delivery information about Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(25)EY. This is an early deployment release, based on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(25)SEA that runs on the Cisco Series Switch. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(25)EY contains all features delivered up to the Cisco s IOS Software Release 12.2(25)SEA, except IPv6. IPv6 features are not supported in this release. The platform and features delivered with this early deployment release will be immediately incorporated into the Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S train. It is important to note that no maintenance releases are planned for this early deployment release. In addition, note the migration path to the S release. Customers should prepare to upgrade using this migration path (Figure 1).
