Our Digital World Online Companion Second Edition - Rep Guide June 30, 2012 Description The Our Digital World Online Companion, Second Edition, (ODW2e) is a hybrid tool designed to work directly with the Our Digital World, Second Edition, textbook. The ODW2e site is designed to give instructors an online learning management system that will work solely with the ODW2e digital content. The ODW2e companion site is actually a desktop application that installs from our website. Using Adobe AIR as a shell, the ODW2e application runs on both MAC and PC computers, using the Internet to send and receive information. Getting Started Rep Sales reps with experience using SNAP 2010 will find a similar set of tools for creating schools, instructors, and courses. The major differences are there are no books to choose from when adding a course and courses have only one section. As a sales rep you will be using the web portal to set up instructors and schools http://digitalworld2e.emcp.com/login/odwlogin.php?rep=1. Your instructors/students will install the ODW2e desktop AIR application from the Internet site http://digitalworld2e.emcp.com. After installation, instructor/student access to the application is from a desktop icon. The website guides instructors and students through the process of installing ODW2e. If an instructor/student returns to the website after installing the desktop application and clicks on Start Here!, the site will test to see if a current version of the application is installed on the desktop. If found, it will open it. If the website does not find a current version of the desktop application installed, it will install it and, if necessary, allow the instructor/student to register or login.
