infinias Connect V8.8 Software Quick Start Guide NOTE Step 3. After logging in, infinias Connect will automatically check for software updates. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update, if available. View Video and Data Streams This document guides you through the basic steps to install and use basic features of infinias Connect V8.8 software. infinias Connect provides remote client access to the infinias Intelli-M Access NVRs (IA NVR). infinias Connect runs on Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP2, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 and Windows 8. For detailed instructions, refer to the infinias Connect V8.8 Software User Manual. Step 1. Installation Video streams To view live video from a camera, click the Live tab, open the list under the video server object in the left frame, select a camera in the list and drag it into a viewing cell. To view all of the cameras on a video server, drag the video server object in the left frame into a viewing cell. Video server object Viewing cells (4 shown here) infinias Connect is pre-installed on the IA NVR. It can installed on other Windows PCs that have network access to the NVR for remote connections. To install Connect on a remote PC, consider the following. nfinias Connect can be installed in one of two modes: normal (default) mode, and Kiosk mode. Default mode: In this mode, infinias Connect can be opened and closed similar to most Windows applications. Kiosk mode: In this mode, the application starts automatically after a Windows user logs in and runs in full-screen mode. IA NVR users who login to Connect (see Step 2 below) without the administrator permission (see the infinias Connect V8.8 Software User Manual for more information) can logout of Connect, but cannot close the application or access the Windows desktop. Users with administrator permission can close the application and access the Windows desktop when they logout. To use Kiosk mode, it must be selected during the installation of infinias Connect. During the installation process, essential software components (Microsoft.NET Framework 4) may also be downloaded and installed. infinias Connect is provided on the Recovery Media flash drive with your infinias IA NVR hardware and on the infinias web site. The file will appear as both of the following: Infinias_Connect_x86_InstallerFull.exe (for 32-bit operating systems) Infinias_Connect_x64_InstallerFull.exe (for 64-bit operating systems) Copy the appropriate installation file to your computer, then install infinias Connect as you would install most Windows applications. After you click Finish, the infinias Connect icon will appear on the desktop and in the Windows Start Menu. Step 2. Log in Using infinias Connect installed on the IA NVR Double click the Infinias Connect shortcut on the IA NVR server desktop. In the login dialog, open the Site drop down menu and select localhost. In both the Username and Password fields, enter admin (default username and password), then in the Customer field, enter infinias. Click the Login button at the bottom of the dialog box. Using infinias Connect installed on a remote PC If infinias Connect was installed in default mode, double click the infinias Connect icon on the desktop or click Windows Start menu All Programs Connect infinias Connect. In the login dialog, enter the IP address of your IA NVR in the Site field (see example to the right). Enter your Username and Password in the appropriate fields (the default Username and Password are both admin), then in the Customer field, enter infinias. Click the Login button at the bottom of the dialog box. Data streams For data servers, drag data objects into viewing cells to monitor them. Layout Options You can create layouts that fit your specific needs. Multiple tabs can be setup, with a single cell grid to layouts for up to 32 cameras. To select a layout, click the Home menu button at the top of the infinias Connect window, click the down arrow on the Layout icon, then click the layout pattern you want to use. Step 4. Create Groups To create and save a custom viewing layout along with specific cameras in that layout, open the Configuration tab then click the Save Group button in the top menu. Note: To create Groups and Tours, your username (role) must have administrator privileges for the IA NVR server you are connected to. Save Group Enter a name in the Group Name field, then click Save. For additional Site login options, including (local) and other..., refer to the infinias Connect V8.8 Software User Manual. 1 www.infinias.com IN_Connect_V8.8_SQ 3/27/14

To see the cameras in the list, click the Groups title bar, then click the triangle to the left of the group name you created. Stream Information links To view the layout from a Saved Group, drag the Group name to a viewing cell. Multi-Monitor Support Tabs in infinias Connect can be undocked for multi-monitor/window displays. Click the Undock/Dock icon or click and drag the tab away from the main panel onto another area of the display, or to a secondary monitor. To re-dock a tab, click Dock again. Drag the viewing tab to make a separate window Step 5. Camera Remote Controls With the infinias Connect Media menu you can control PTZ, digital zoom and lens functions, and Audio functions if the camera provides remote control of those features. Click the Media tab button. The icons enabled in the menu reflect the features of the camera selected. PTZ position controls Iris Open/close Enable Digital Zoom Stream Information Audio Mute Control Resolution controls For dual-stream IP cameras, you can switch between the high-resolution stream and low resolution stream in two ways: 1. By selecting the video stream frame, then clicking the Full - Low Stream toggle icon on the Media tab. Clicking this icon offers the option to select either Low or Full stream resolution for all dual-stream IP cameras shown in Connect. Step 6. Video Stream information and resolution control Step 7. Using the stream right click menu The video stream information can be displayed by right clicking on a Live view video frame, then selecting the Stream Information option in the menu ( right click menu). A pop-up window will appear showing the Name, Brand, Model, Firmware Version etc. of the camera and stream. The right click menu provides quick access to common video and data stream options such as Search, Save Image (capture), Stream information, etc. for the stream selected. This menu is opened by right clicking anywhere within the stream. Only the options applicable to the stream are enabled (bold text). This feature is used with Live view and Search streams for video and data. In the example below, the user right clicked on the lower live view screen (indicated by the orange boarder). 2 www.infinias.com 2014 infinias. All rights reserved.

Screen selected (orange boarder) If you position the mouse cursor over a thumbnail image, a pop-up will open with a larger picture of the thumbnail. Step 9. Save image, Export video Step 8. Search Video infinias Connect provides three basic ways to search recorded video from cameras connected to your IA NVR: Replay, Calendar, and Thumbnail. When you click Replay or Search, a new tab is created for that purpose, enabling you to review and compare live and recorded video simultaneously. Standard Play, Pause, and Fast Forward buttons help you quickly find the video you need. Replay With Replay search you can opt to replay the previous 1, 2, 5, or 15 minutes of recorded video. Save image: After displaying the image from a camera you want to save, open the Search Tools tab, then click the Save Image. A Save Image file window will open wherein you can name the file (.jpg format) and browse to the location where you want to save it. Video Export: To Export a video clip: 1. With the Search Tools tab selected, adjust the timeline so that it contains the section of video you want to export. 2. Click either the Export icon in the Search Tools tab, or open the Export icon drop-down list. In the drop-down list, click the option you prefer to identify the segment of video to export. Calendar (Timeline) search Calendar search is allows you to review video recorded during a specific increment of time. 3. In the Export menu, verify the Export Range of the video segment, browse to the location where you want to save the video, then select the format from the Video Format drop-down list. Click the Export button to save the video. Step 10. Viewing Data Server data infinias Connect can display System Health data elements from the infinias IMA NVR. These elements includes System the Windows Event Log, CPU activity sensor, Process sensor, hard drive and hard drive free/used space sensor, memory sensor, etc., that are useful in monitoring the state of the system hardware. infinias Connect will also search streams of ASCII data, such as the Windows Event Log, for specific types of entries, or entries with specific messages (character strings). Refer to the infinias Connect V8.8 Software User Manual or more information. Viewing System Health statistics To view the statistics the IA NVR automatically accumulates on the server system, open the infinias Data Server device, then drag the System Health entry into a viewing pane. Data similar to that shown below is displayed. Playback position Timeline Duration Increment Collapse / Expand Timeline Start Time, Position Calendar Icon Timeline Zoom In/Out History Thumbnail search Thumbnails search presents up to 10 thumbnails of video frames, spaced across a defined time range, to help locate the detail or event of interest. 3 www.infinias.com 2014 infinias. You can also drag individual items into a viewing pane. Viewing graph and list data Most data can be viewed as a bar graph that shows counts of ASCII messages received, or the actual data in readable format. Show Item Details icon Note that this data stream does not include a graphic characterization. Therefore, the Show Item Details icon is not preset. 2. Select the Home tab, then click the Search icon, then click on the data element title bar to select it. When selected, the data will be surrounded by an orange border (see below) and the Filter Query option will appear at the bottom of the frame. Orange border (selected) Click the Show Item Details icon to switch between the bar chart and data received in readable format: Filter Query option 3. Adjust the timeline using the search field controls (Start and Duration) to define the time span over which you want to search for specific data. 4. Click the Filter Query tab in the search controls section to select it, then click the phrase Add new filters to fine tune query results. Applying Filter Queries to ASCII data streams infinias Connect Filter Query is a special feature for use with ASCII data streams such as the Windows Event Log or other System Health data elements. The Filter Queries are easy to construct logical (Boolean) expression search filters to detect and extract specific information from the data. A complete set of Boolean operators (=, <>, >, >=, <, <=, contains, does not contain) are provided. You can also create multiple logical Boolean expressions and AND or OR them together to create more specific filters. The following example shows how to search a Windows Event Log stream for messages that indicate an Warning message. Use this general approach to search all data streams for content. To setup this filter and export the data, do the following: 1. Open the Windows Event Log data element into a viewing pane. 5. Click the Category drop down list and select Event Log, then select EventLog Event, then select EntryType. See below. 6. In the image below, notice that the field to the left of the operator now contains EntryType. Open the drop down list in the field to the right of the operator, then select Warning (for this example). The data in the Windows Event Log display will immediately show the result of the query. 4 www.infinias.com 2014 infinias. All rights reserved.

Step 11. Logout of Connect infinias Connect includes three ways to logout: Logout and return to the infinias Connect login screen (default or Kiosk mode installation): Click the Infinias logo in the upper left corner of the infinias Connect application window, then select Logout. Logout and close infinias Connect (default installation): Click the window close icon ( )in the upper right corner of the infinias Connect application window. Logout and close infinias Connect (Kiosk mode installation): For users with users with System Configure permission, click the window close icon ( )in the upper-right corner of the infinias Connect application window. For users without System Configure permission, the window close icon does not appear; they can only logout as described above and return to the login screen. NOTE Logical Operator The example above has only one result. However, for some queries, you can AND or OR additional conditions to your filter by clicking the + button under the Filters. For filters that search for specific or ranges of values, open the operator drop down list and select the value you want to use. For instance, you can search the Processor Sensor for values above a specific level of usage. infinias logo Logout to return to the Connect Login screen Logout to close Connect Greater then (>) operator 7. To save the filtered data, click the Export icon at the top of the window to open the Export save parameters menu. 8. In the export menu, browse to select the location where the file will be saved, then open the Data Format drop-down list to select the file type. Click the Export button to the right to perform the export. If you saved the file in XML format, Connect will also save links to Viewer and a.bat file to open the file in Viewer. 5 www.infinias.com 2014 infinias. All rights reserved.
