ATP-Agreement Chapter 1 Article 1 For international carriage of perishable foodstuffs, equipments shall not be designated as insulated, mechanically refrigerated, or heated equipments unless it complies with the definitions and standards set forth in annex 1 to this agreement. Many countries in Europe inforced this agreement also in national laws or regualtions (a.s. France, Spain, Italy). 8

ATP-Agreement Chapter 1 Article 2 The Contracting Parties shall take the measures necessary to ensure that the equipment is inspected and tested for compliance with the said standards in conformity with the Provisions of annex 1, appendices 1-4 to this Agreement. Each Contracting Party shall recognize the validity of certificates of compliance issued in conformity with annex1, appendix 1, paragraph 4 to this Agreement by the competent authority of another Contracting Party. 9

ATP-Agreement -Retest Annex1, Appendix 2 Checking the insulating capacity of equipment in service This examination shall take the point of an inspection of the equipment to determinate the following in the follwing order: i. the general design of the insulating sheating ii. iii. iv. the method of application of insulation the nature and conditions of the wall the conditions of the insulated compartment v. the thickness of the walls 27
