USING THE AC ADAPTER Alwys turn off the DVD plyer vi the Power on/off Key prior to connecting or disconnecting the AC ADAPTER. Be sure to use the supplied AC dpter. Using different type of dpter my cuse mlfunction or dmge to the product. When the AC dpter is used for prolonged periods of time, it my het up. This is norml nd is not cuse for concern. When not using the dpter, unplug it from the wll outlet. Keep the AC dpter free from moisture, cold, nd dust. Otherwise, risk of fire or electric shock my be resulted in. To power outlet AC cble WARNINGS: Only use the AC dpter supplied with this plyer. Be sure to unwind the AC dpter cble (DC output cble) before using, s electromgnetic interference my cuse problems with other devices. Alwys turn off the DVD plyer when inserting or removing the AC dpter. CONNECTING TO A CAR ADAPTOR The 9V cr power dptor is designed for use with vehicles tht hve 12V, negtive ground electricl system. WARNING: Disconnect the cr power dptor when not in use. Not in use in 24V vehicles. CAUTIONS: Use the unit only with 9V cr power dptor, use with other cr power dptor could dmge the unit. The recommended 9V cr power dptor is for use with this unit only. Do not use it with other equipment. In the interests of rod trffic sfety, do not operte the unit or view video softwre while driving vehicle. Mke sure the unit is fstened securely to prevent from moving outside of the vehicle in n ccident When the inside of the cigrette lighter socket is dirty with shes or dust, the plug section my become hot due to poor contct. Be sure to clen the cigrette lighter socket before use. After use, disconnect the 9V cr power dptor from both the unit nd cigrette lighter socket. FUSE REPLACEMENT FUSE A BRIEF DESCRIPTION ON HOW TO REPLACE THE FUSE 1. Twist off the cover of the cr dptor 2. Tke out the dmged fuse nd replce it by using new one. 3. Insert the new fuse into the socket of the cr dptor. 4. Finlly twist on the cover of the cr dptor. Note: The vlue of the fuse is quick blow 2.5A 125V (20mm). 4

BASIC CONNECTION It is recommended to connect multi-system TV. Ensure tht this plyer nd other equipment to be connected re set to the stndby mode or off nd disconnect the AC power cords before commencing connection. Do not block ventiltion holes of ny of the equipment nd rrnge them so tht ir cn circulte freely. Red through the instructions before connecting other equipment. Ensure tht you observe the color coding when connecting udio nd video cbles. Note: During DVD ply, the TV volume my be t lower level thn during TV brodcsts, etc. If this is the cse, djust the volume to the desired level. If the DVD/VCD/CD plyer is connected to the TV through video cssette recorder, the picture my not be plyed bck normlly with some DVDs. If this is the cse, do not connect the plyer vi the VCR. NOTE: 1. Turn the Volume down before connecting. 2. The spekers re disconnected once erphones re ttched to the Erphones Socket. 3. Adjust the volume to comfortble level using the Volume keys. OPERATIONS GET STARTED 1. Slide POWER switch to ON position to turn on the plyer. 2. Press CD cover Open to open the disc try. 3. Plce disc onto the disc try. 4. Close the disc try nd the plybck strts utomticlly. 5. When menu screen ppers on the screen, move the nvigtion buttons to select preferred trck number, then press PLAY/PAUSE button to strt plybck. ADJUST THE VOLUME Rotting the VOLUME control to increse or reduce the volume. SKIP AHEAD OR BACK Press PREVIOUS or NEXT button once during ply to skip chpter(dvd) or trck (Video CD/CD) hed or bckwrds. RAPID ADVANCE/ REVERSE During plybck, press F.FWD button or F.BWD button severl times to scn the disc forwrd or bckwrd t X2, X4, X8, X20 norml speed. Press PLAY/PAUSE button to resume norml ply. STOP PLAYBACK Press nvigtion DOWN button during plybck to stop plybck; the plyer ctivtes its resume function when STOP is pressed in STOP mode; press PLAY button gin, plybck resumes t the point it stopped previously; open the disc try or press the STOP button one more time to cler the resume function. ON SCREEN DISPLAY INFORMATION When the plyer is in opertion, press INFO/UP button continuously, the screen will disply prts of informtion(current disc type, title number, chpter number, plytime, udio lnguge, udio type, subtitle lnguge nd multi ngle, etc) in sequence. CHANGING AUDIO SOUNDTRACK LANGUAGE (DVD/VCD DISC) It is possible to chnge the udio soundtrck lnguge to different lnguge from the one selected t the initil settings(this opertion works only with discs on which multiple udio soundtrck lnguges re recorded). Press AUDIO button during DVD disc ply, the sound trck lnguge chnges with the current sound trck number shown on the TV screen. Pressing AUDIO button during VCD disc ply will chnge udio output mode: MONO L, MONO R nd stereo. NOTE: When no soundtrck lnguges re recorded, pressing this button will not work. CHANGING SUBTITLE LANGUAGE (DVD ONLY) Press SUBTITLE button during plybck, the subtitle lnguge shown on the screen will chnge s response to ech press; When the desired lnguge ppers, relese the button to view the subtitle in tht lnguge. Note: this function only works on the DVDs recorded with multi-lnguge subtitles. ENJOYING VIDEO CDS WITH PBC FEATURE After loding VCD 2.0/1.0 with PBC, the screen shows the Disc formts nd then menu. Select desired trck by Pressing NEXT nd PREV button to select trck directly. During plybck, press MENU button to return min menu(dvd).press this button to select PBC ON/OFF mode(vcd) TITLE button: Ply the title (DVD) LCD button - Press LCD button once to enter the color djustment mode nd use the nvigtion buttons to djust the color intensity; Press LCD button twice to enter the brightness djustment mode nd use the nvigtion buttons to djust the brightness. Press this button three times to enter the contrst djustment mode nd use the nvigtion buttons to djust the contrst vlues. Press this button four times to enter the pnel djustment mode nd use the nvigtion buttons to select between two options( pnel 16:9 nd pnel 4:3 ) MP3 PLAYBACK 1. Lod the Mp3 disc onto the disc try nd the screen will show ll its folders fter few seconds. 2. Select the folder you wnt by the nvigtion buttons nd then PLAY/PAUSE button to confirm. 3. The files in this folder re displyed nd select your fvourble song vi nvigtion buttons nd press 4. PLAY/PAUSE button to strt plybck. Press NEXT nd PREV button to select trck directly. KODAK PICTURE CD / JPEG CD PLAYBACK Slide show of Kodk Picture CD fter being loded begins utomticlly; Folders of JPEG picture CD fter being loded re displyed on the screen; use the nvigtion buttons to select the desired folder nd then press PLAY/PAUSE button to confirm. The files in this folder re displyed nd you cn select your fvourble pictures using the up/down nvigtion buttons nd press PLAY/PAUSE button to strt plybck. Preview of the picture will be displyed while you scroll cross the filenmes. KODAK PICTURE CD/JPEG CD OPERATIONS 1.PICTURE ROTATIONS Press RIGHT nd LEFT nvigtion buttons to rotte the picture Clockwise nd nti-clockwise respectively. 2. PICTURE FLIPS Press UP nvigtion button to disply the current trck nd totl trcks on the screen. Press DOWN nvigtion button to return to the root directory. 7

INITIAL SETTINGS Initil settings pge is for you to mke your preferred settings up for your plyer. Once the initil settings re done they re retined in the CPUof the plyer until otherwise modified. COMMON PROCEDURES FOR INITIAL SETTINGS 1. Press SETUP button. 2. Use the nvigtion buttons to select the item you wnt to modify, press PLAY/PAUSE/SELECT button to confirm, setting pge with further setting items displyed shows on the TV screen. Agin use nvigtion buttons to mke chnges. Press gin PLAY/PAUSE/SELECT button to confirm modifictions. 3. Use nvigtion buttons to switch to nother setting on the min setting pge. 4. (DVD only, need disc softwre support) Options: ENGLISH/GERMAN/SPANISH/FRENCH/ PORTUGUESE/ITALIAN/OFF 2.4 MENU LANG - Select preferred disc menu lnguge. (DVD only, need disc softwre support) Options: ENGLISH/GERMAN/SPANISH/FRENCH/ PORTUGUESE/ITALIAN 3. VIDEO SETUP VIDEO SETUP HUE SATURATION EXIT SETUP 3.1 HUE--to set the colour impression for disply. Options: -6/-4/-2/0/+2/+4/+6 3.2 SATURATION--to set the sturtion level for disply. Options: 0/2/4/6/8/10/12 4. SPEAKER SETUP SPEAKER SETUP DOWNMIX EXIT SETUP 1.1 TV SYSTEM - it is used to select the TV mode. Options: NTSC / PAL/ AUTO Plese select this option s per your TV set. 1.2 SCREEN SAVER - when the plyer is not in used for 3 minutes, running DVD logo will move cross the TV screen to protect the TV CRT. Options: On: Screen sver is enbled Off: Screen sver is disbled 1.3 TV TYPE- it is used to select the TV scn mode, plese set s per your TV set. Options: 4:3PS : Norml Pn & scn mode 4:3LB : norml Letter box mode 16:9 : 16:9 wide screen mode 1.4 ANGLE MARK - it is used to select whether or not the multi-ngle icon is disply on the screen when multingle DVD disc is plying. Options: On: Icon will be displyed Off: Icon will be turned off 1.5 DEFAULT - Reset to fctory settings. Options: RESTORE 4.1 DOWNMIX Options: LT/RT- Left/Right mix mode STEREO- Select this option if you don't hve 5.1 chnnels mplifier. 2. LANGUAGE SETUP LANGUAGE SETUP OSD LANGUAGE AUDIO LANG SUBTITLE LANG MENU LANG EXIT SETUP 2.1 OSD LANGUAGE - It is used to select different On Screen Disply lnguge for different user. Options: ENGLISH (The number of these options depends on the customer's need.) 2.2 AUDIO LANG - select preferred udio lnguge.(dvd only, need disc softwre support) Options: ENGLISH /GERMAN/ SPANISH/ FRENCH/ PORTUGUESE/ITALIAN 8

DISC HANDLING PRECAUTIONS Hold the disc by the edge so the surfce will not be soiled with finger prints. Finger prints, dirt nd scrtches cn cuse skipping nd distortion. Do not write on the lbel side with bll-point pen or other writing utensils. Do not pply benzine, thinner, nd liquid tht prevents ginst sttic electricity. Be creful not to drop or bend the disc.
