Excellence Research Fellowship Ben-Gurion University of the Negev - for Masters research. Intel prize Excellence Research Fellowship - for PhD research (2003). PIMS Postdoctoral Fellowship (2004). Research Statement I am interested in both theoretical and applied aspects of Computational Geometry and Facility Location Optimization, including: Approximating Radio Maps, Locating Wireless Back-bone, Frequency Allocation, Visibility Graphs, Terrain Simplification, Allocation Problems, Vehicle Routing Problems, and GIS expert systems. In 2008 Dr. Nir Shvalb and I have founded the Kinematics and Computational Geometry lab in Ariel University Center: http://www.ariel.ac.il/projects/kcg/ Currently, there are 3 major (founded) projects running in the lab: 2

ISRC: Magnet Consortium: Israeli Short Range Consortium RESCUE: Magnet Consortium Climbing Robots: Mafat. There are 10 undergraduated students employed in the lab and 5 graduate students. The lab is also running several self founded projects. I also cooperate with the following research groups: Computational Geometry, Prof. Matya Katz (BGU). Geometric Optimization, Dr. Paz Carmi (Carleton U.). Wireless Communication (WiMax), Dr. Yehuda Ben Shimol (BGU). Human Vision, Dr. Michael Vagner, Dr. Tzila Shamir (Ariel UC.). Indoor Wireless Communication, Prof. Yossi Pinhasi and Prof. Asher Yahalom (Ariel UC). Teaching Statement I take my teaching duties seriously. During the last few years I have taught the following courses in computer science: Mandatory courses: Introduction to computer science, Data Structures, Object Oriented, Computer Networking, Software Engineering, Algorithms, Data Bases. Elective (graduate) course: Computational Geometry, Algorithms for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Advance topics in software engineering, Advance topics in graph algorithms implementation, Web Application Design. I m supervising 5-10 undergraduate projects a year. And one or two graduate students in computer science. During 2006 I have developed an automatic grading system for programing assignments, currently I m conducting a large scale experiment in which the system is being tested over various programming courses taken by few hundreds of students. 3
