University of Cambridge International Examinations Teacher Support Site User Guide for Coordinators Getting started Log into the Teacher Support Site http://teachers.cie.org.uk/ Click the Administer Users tab on the blue navigation bar. This takes you to the page from which you can administer your Centre. User information for your Centre is displayed on this page How do I browse the list of existing users and update user details? Click on a user name in the List of Users tab or start typing in the box to search for the details for a particular user. The list will scroll to the name which most closely matches the characters you have typed Click on the user s name or username to access the user profile Update the user status, password and email details as appropriate. Changes will not be saved until you have clicked the relevant button. You should only need to edit user email details if they have been entered incorrectly.
Please note the following: Any changes you make to a user s status will be updated on the user list display User passwords are not visible to TS Coordinators As a TS Coordinator you can edit a user s status and email details and reset their password. You cannot edit other fields in the user profile. Only users can amend those details Suspended users can be reactivated Deleted users cannot be reactivated and will no longer appear on the list of users Please note also that each user must have their own individual login to the Teacher Support website, which must be kept confidential and not shared with anyone else. When a person leaves your centre, their account must be deleted. How do I add a new user? To add a new user, click the Add a new user tab and enter the user s name and email address. The job title field is optional. Click the Reset button to clear the fields if required To confirm the details, click Add User Once a new user has been added, an email is sent automatically to the user, confirming username and password information
Administering Training Events Click the Administer Training Events tab How to approve, decline or change a booking. Step One When a teacher makes a booking, you will receive an email like this one: Dear, CIE has received an event registration request from one or more teachers at your centre. Please click on the link below and visit the Professional Development Administration view of your Teacher Support Site Admin pages. Here you can update the registration status of teachers from your Centre who have registered for professional development events, either face to face or online. http://teachers.cie.org.uk/approve-bookings Your authorisation confirms that your centre will pay xxx for the training. These bookings will be held for 14 days, after which they will be cancelled if you have not authorised them. We look forward to welcoming your teachers soon. Step Two Follow the link in the email, and after logging in to the Teacher Support Website, you will see a page like this one, which allows you to see requested, confirmed and waiting list bookings at your centre: Step Three To approve a booking, click approve To decline the booking, click decline/cancel An email is automatically sent to your users, telling them that their booking has been approved (or declined).
What other information can I see?. You can see if you have reached your booking limit for a course, or if the course is full. You can also see how many unused places still remain for your centre to use, what the fee will be, and why the teacher wishes to do the course. In this case three teachers have booked onto a course, two of whom you have confirmed. From here you can a. Approve the third teacher so that he or she is added to the waiting list. b. Replace one of the confirmed bookings with the third teacher, or another teacher of your choice. c. Cancel any of the bookings
How to change bookings for teachers at your centre. If you wish to completely cancel this booking, click cancel If you wish to replace this teacher with a different teacher, click replace and you will see a screen like this one: You can put the existing teacher onto the waiting list, or cancel their booking entirely You can also replace the person with any other user at your centre Click save when you have finished. Please make sure that you keep your teachers informed of changes that you make to their bookings. What happens if you fail to approve a booking? a. We will send you a reminder after 8 days b. If you do not approve the booking 14 days after the original booking, it will be cancelled automatically and a cancellation notice sent to the teacher.
