Add a Wireless Network From the Start menu, go to Control Panel and open the Network and Internet control panel. From the Network and Internet control panel, click the link to Manage wireless networks In the Manage wireless networks window, click the Add button. Click "Manually create a network profile", at the "How do you want to add a network?" prompt.

Enter the Network Information Enter the following wireless network information: Enter UCSFwpa, in the "Network name" field. Select "WPA2-Enterprise" from the "Security type" drop-down menu. Select "AES" from the "Encryption type" drop-down menu. Click the Next button to continue. You have successfully added the UCSFwpa wireless network profile. Update the Profile Properties Click "Change connection settings" to update the profile properties.

Configure the Security Tab Click the Security tab and configure the following settings: Select "Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP)" from the "Choose a network" authentication method drop-down menu. Click the Settings button to continue.

In the Protected EAP Properties window: Click on the "Validate server certificate" checkbox. Click on Configure button next to Secured password pull-down.

In the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window: Check the box to "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password?. Click the OK button. Click the OK button again to get back to the UCSFwpa Wireless Network Properties.

Configure the Advanced Settings On UCSFwpa Wireless Network Properties click the Advanced Settings button. In the Advanced settings window: Check the box next to "Specify Authentication mode". Select "User authentication" from the drop-down menu. Click the Save credentials button to store your Active Directory username and password.

In the Windows Security dialog box: Enter your MyAccess or mail@ucsf [1]* username and password. Click the OK button 3 times to close the UCSFwpa Wireless network profile. *Also known as an Active Directory (AD)/computer logon account.

Set Network Location In the Set Network Location window, choose Work network Congratulations! You are now connected to the UCSFwpa wireless network. You can close all Wireless Networking Control Panel windows.

Deleting the current UCSFwpa connection entry 1. Navigate to the start menu and select Control Panel on the right side of the menu. In Control Panel, select Network and Sharing Center. 2. In the Tasks pane, click Manage wireless networks to see existing wireless connections. 3. Right-click the UCSFwpa connection and select "Remove Network". In the Manage Wireless Networks warning dialog box, click OK. In some cases, a machine reboot may be required. 4. To reconnect to UCSFwpa, select the wireless network icon on the right side of the task bar. In the list that populates, select UCSFwpa and use your Active Directory logon credentials (including the proper domain.) Windows should automatically update all connection certificates. Images
