And click Next this will take you to setting the Backup Schedule 6
If you want to only run Manual backups, check No daily automatic backups this means that if you want to run a backup, you will have to click on the Backup button in the GUI to start the backup If you want to backup once a day, check Backup automatically everyday and enter the time you want the backup to start in the Backup time box default is 19H00 If you want to have multiple backups during the day, you can request the document from support@irontree.co.za or download from the Website www.irontree.co.za and click Next! 7
It is advisable to leave the Working Folders as is unless there is limited capacity on the C: drive, in which case you may install to another drive we do, however, recommend using the Default settings and click Next A Summary screen will now be displayed and click Next The software will now attempt to connect you, via your chosen Internet connection, to the Storage Platform in the IronTree Data Centre 8

Example 1 Incorrect encryption key entered please remember this field is case sensitive re-enter and try again Example 2 Username entered incorrectly this is NOT a case-sensitive field retry Also caused by attempting to connect to the incorrect Group contact support@irontree.co.za 10

Step 2 - Selecting your Data for Backup v1.1.1.3 This section deals with Backup Selections. It is important for you to know what you would like to backup AND where it resides on your computer. It would also be useful to know how much data has been selected For example : Softline Pastel s default company data is usually located in drive:\pastel07 or Pastel09 or drive:\xpress07 QuickBooks data is usually located in drive:\program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro and ONLY the.qbw needs to be selected Please confirm data locations with your relevant software application support if you are unsure, as bad data selections are as bad as not having a backup if you don t back it up correctly, we can t give it back to you! Below is the typical GUI (Graphical User Interface) In order to make the data selection, navigate the mouse to the desired folder containing your data in the left-pane, and right-click on the folder or left-click on the + sign next to the folder to expand the folder further. 12
Once you have right-clicked on the desired folder, the options will appear as in the screenshot below If you would like to select the entire folder, left-click on Include Folder The folder will turn Green as in the screenshot below 13
We recommend then clicking on Size button at the top of the GUI, to give you the current size of the backup. If you then wanted to select some of the files in the folder only, click on the folder in the left-pane and the files within that folder will appear in the right-pane You would then need to left-click on the circular button next to the individual files you would like to select, and they will turn Green, as in the screenshot below Follow the same procedure to exclude files and folders 14
Step 3 - Sizing v1.1.1.3 Once you have made your selections, we now need to consider the size of the selected files and folders and therefore the backup Click on the Size button at the top of the GUI the software will calculate the size of the backup selections you are also able to exclude files from this window, in the event that you have inadvertently selected the wrong file once you are comfortable with the selections press OK 15
Step 4 - email Notification Setup v1.1.1.3 You may also configure the software to email the backup log to an email address on completion or failure of a backup. To do this, open the GUI and go to Tools, Plugins, Email Notification Example : 16
Check all checkboxes as in the screenshot above In Mail settings though, you will put in your email address and support@irontree.co.za (Optional) in the To: field, separated by a semi-colon ; Example : jake@gottajobnow.co.za;oregon@stillgottajob.co.za;support@irontree.co.za In the From: field, you will need to put in either your email address only OR a valid Administrator s email address of your Domain Example : jake@gottajobnow.co.za In the SMTP server: field, the SMTP server address of the Domain Example : smtp.mweb.co.za smtp.saix.net is quite a common, working SMTP address try it if you are struggling (This information also resides in your email application configuration, normally under Tools, Email Accounts, View If your SMTP server requires authentication, check the box and give the User name and Password Once the settings are in, you may push the Test button you will either get a Successful or Failed message. If Failed, consult with your Email Service Provider for the correct SMTP settings Also check Attach log file and Entire log file as the logs provide valuable Troubleshooting information to the IronTree Support Team Once you are satisfied that all settings are correct, click on Ok 17
Step 5 - Scheduling Backups v1.1.1.3 In order to schedule your backups, click on the Automate button as per below If you want to only run Manual backups, check No daily automatic backups this means that if you want to run a backup, you will have to click on the Backup button in the GUI to start the backup If you want to backup once a day, check Backup automatically everyday and enter the time you want the backup to start in the Backup time box and click on OK The default scheduled backup time is 19h00 If you require more frequent backups during the day, go to the Advanced Schedule section Check the Backup at the following specified times in the Advanced Schedule section If Backup automatically everyday remains checked, this will be an additional backup to the backups you schedule in the Advanced Schedule 18
Highlight the day of the week you require the additional backups to be run by holding down the Ctrl key and left-clicking on the required day do this for all the days you want to run the additional backups on Next, set the Backup time to the time you would like the additional backups to run on the selected days 19
And click Add the additional schedules will appear in the Additional Schedule pane on the right and click on OK You may now close the GUI and the backup will run at the next additional scheduled time 20
You are now ready to run your first backup you will have Sized the backup, so you should have an indication of how big (or small!) the first backup is going to be. Click on the Backup button FYI 1). The Sized backup is the total data uncompressed. We compress the data for transfer during the encryption phase, and billing is based on the uncompressed or data protected size. If you wait until the backup transfer starts, the Backup window will indicate the compressed size AND a rough estimate of the duration of the backup, based on your bandwidth speed. The backup may be cancelled at any point AND there is a Hide button so you can carry on working. 2). If you do cancel a backup AFTER it has started the data transfer, and would like to return to continue the backup, just click on the Backup button again. It will ask you if you want to continue the failed backup. Say Yes to continue or No to start a new backup. If Yes it will resume where it left off if No it will re-send what has already been sent. 3). A backup is only as good as when it finishes the complete cycle. If you are unclear of any of the instructions contained in this document and require more information, please email support@irontree.co.za and we will gladly assist 21
