1 Overview Please read the entire document before beginning. This document covers the installation of third-party components used with Relius Administration 14.0 and higher. If you are unclear about this installation, please contact Relius Technology Support at 1-800-326-7235, option 3. Scope The installation of Relius Administration 14.0 is divided into three parts: database, component, and workstation installations. This document covers the component installation. Both upgrades and new installations must follow the procedures detailed herein for a successful implementation of Relius Administration 14.0. The component installation is available on DVD. This DVD must be installed before Relius Administration 14.0. Do not install this DVD until you have downloaded RA 14.0 and are ready to install it. This DVD supersedes previous Component installations. Once the components are in place, the RA 14.0 workstation installation can then be run. Disk Format Because of the limitations of space on data CDs, the Relius Administration Components are now delivered on a data DVD. If your optical drive only has the CD logos on it, you may not have a DVD drive available on your system. Example of CD logos: Example of DVD logos:

Another way to verify is by opening Windows Explorer and checking the type of optical drive you have (eject whatever disk may be loaded). If DVD is not specifically in the name of the drive, you may not have a DVD drive. The picture below indicates a CD drive, not a DVD drive. System Requirements The component DVD will not install to systems that do not meet the minimum requirements, detailed on our web site (http://www.relius.net/support/qt_technology.asp). Systems that fall between the minimum and recommended standards will receive a warning message, stating that clients should consider upgrading soon. Units that meet or exceed the recommended standards will not receive any notices. Process The installation of Relius Administration 14.0 involves the following basic procedures: 1) Read and understand this document and the accompanying Relius Administration 14.0 Update document. 2) Ensure your database has been properly exported and backed up. Personal Oracle systems must have their database setup and running prior to installing the Component DVD. 3) Install Personal Oracle 10g (for standalone systems). Standalone systems that do not yet have Personal Oracle installed before the Component DVD will be configured for a networked database. Recovering from this scenario is time-consuming and usually requires the assistance of Relius Technology Support. 4) Install the Relius Administration Component DVD. (This installation.) 5) Install Relius Administration 14.0, running update scripts against database if necessary.

6) Set up additional workstations (if necessary).

2 Preliminary Steps In most cases where an update of an existing Relius Administration workstation is performed and Windows Update is regularly run, the majority of these components will already be properly installed and not updated by this process. Pre-installation Notes: a) This installation is valid for Windows XP (Home and Pro), Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2003 (for Web or Terminal Services). Windows 2000 is no longer supported, except for Edify Voice Response Units. All references to Windows, unless otherwise noted, are also valid for the above named operating systems. Special Note for clients licensed by SunGard Relius to run Relius Administration on Windows Server with Terminal Services: The installation must be installed at the server console as the Administrator, not remotely connected using client software. b) Windows Vista is now supported by SunGard Relius. For more information, visit http://www.relius.net/support/loginform.asp. Click the Windows Vista link on the login page. Many new features and enhancements to Microsoft Windows have been included in these new operating systems that can make the installation process more difficult. A new Section (Vista Considerations) has been generated for added information. Please review it as a handy reference when installing Relius products supported on Vista. c) Presently, no Relius product is supported on 64-bit (x64) operating systems. Clients will receive special notification when certification is complete, including which products are capable of running on 64-bit operating systems and at what version. d) Temporarily disable screen savers during the installation. e) Many support files will be installed to the System directory, normally C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. f) Review the Relius Administration 14.0 system requirements located on our web site (http://www.relius.net/support/qt_technology.asp). Do not proceed with the update if your environment does not meet the minimum system requirements. g) Any components that are already installed and properly configured on your system will be skipped during this procedure.

h) The Windows Administrator (or a user with equivalent local Administrator rights) must run the installation. i) The installation process takes approximately 1 hour to complete, depending on the number of components being installed and the speed of your workstation. For example, if the Oracle client is already installed on a Windows XP workstation where Microsoft.NET is up-to-date, the Oracle client and.net installations should be skipped, saving a considerable amount of time. j) This installation assumes that it will be run from a local DVD drive. Before running the installation from a network resource, please read Appendix B. 2.1 Temporarily disable all virus protection. 2.2 Standalone systems require the Personal Oracle 10g database be installed prior to the Component DVD. Failure to install Personal Oracle before the Components will result in the Oracle Client being installed. Systems using networked databases require the Oracle 10g Client, which will be installed, configured, and patched with this installation. 2.3 Insert the Relius Administration Component DVD for Workstations into your DVD- ROM drive. Click Start, then Run and type D:\Setup.exe in the command box (where D: is your DVD-ROM drive), then click OK. 2.4 If your system does not have Windows Installer 3.1 already configured, it will begin as the first component. Prior to checking for many installation prerequisites, Windows Installer and Microsoft.NET 2.0 must be installed and configured. 2.5 Next Microsoft.NET 2.0 will install if not already present.

2.6 Click Next. 2.7 Select the check box that states you agree to the End-User License Agreement and click Install.

2.8 When.NET is fully installed and configured, click Finish. The main installation will begin. 2.9 If your system does not meet the recommended hardware standards, you will receive a message encouraging you to upgrade or replace your equipment in the near future. Systems that fall short of the minimum hardware standards will not allow the installation to continue.

2.10 At the Welcome screen, click Next. 2.11 A preliminary set of files will be copied to your system.

2.12 If necessary, Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 will install. When the MDAC installation is complete (or upon reboot if necessary), a DOS screen will briefly appear. This is normal and expected. 2.13 On some systems, such as Web and VRU, if Internet Information Services, Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator, and Edify Electronic Workforce are running, they will be stopped during the Component Installation.

3 Installing the Oracle Client Most existing Relius Administration systems will have the Oracle Client already installed. In that case, the Client will only be patched, and the installation will skip to Step 3.7. If the Personal Oracle database is already installed or the Oracle Client is already patched to version 10.2.0.4, this entire section will be skipped. If no Oracle Client exists, the entire Section will be utilized. 3.1 If Oracle is not already installed, you will be prompted for the location of the Oracle Client. Only the local hard drives with enough space will be displayed. If only one drive with enough free space exists, this screen will not appear.

3.2 Windows Vista systems that are running the graphics in aero mode may see a message stating that the color scheme has been adjusted. This is temporary and expected. It will re-occur during the Oracle Patch installation process as well. Clicking the message provides further explanation. 3.3 Further details are also available in Appendix A of this document or at http://windowsvista.com.

3.4 The Oracle Client will begin installing automatically. 3.5 If prompted by a Windows Security Alert, choose Unblock. This screen may present itself in the background. Use the <ALT> + <Tab> key combination or click the flashing item on your taskbar to switch to this window.

3.6 When the Oracle Client is finished installing, the Net Configuration Assistant will appear. Click Next, and then click Finish.

3.7 You will be prompted for the IP address of your Oracle Database Server. Enter the IP address provided by your Oracle System Administrator or Network Administrator and click Next. 3.8 The Oracle Patch will run next. A DOS window will appear in the background. Do not attempt to close it.

3.9 The Oracle Patch will continue installing without interruption.

4 Installing SQL Server Express 2005 Most existing Relius Administration systems will have SQL Server Express 2005 already installed. In that case, it will only be updated with the most recent Service Pack and HotFix, and the installation will skip to Step 4.4. This Section does not apply to Web or VRU servers. 4.1 You will be given the option to install or skip Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005 on systems where it is not already installed. This database program is used for importing and exporting of plan-specific data within Relius Administration. It is not necessary for all computers, but any systems that do not have it will not be able to import or export plan data. 4.2 If you chose to install SQL Express, you will be prompted for the location if more than one local drive with enough space exists.

4.3 Microsoft SQL Express will then install. Systems with MSSQL 2000 will have SQL Express installed as well. MSSQL will not be uninstalled, in case clients use it for other purposes. 4.4 After SQL Express has been successfully installed, the most recent HotFix will configure. This may take several minutes. 4.5 SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL DMO) will install.

5 Installing Crystal Reports 2008 The Crystal Report Writer (version 2008) will be the final component installed. If your system has an earlier version of Crystal Reports (such as version 8.5 or 10.0 supplied by SunGard Relius for use with earlier versions of Relius Administration), those versions will remain intact and will function without error despite the presence of version 2008. This Section does not apply to Web or VRU servers. 5.1 You will be prompted for the location of Crystal Reports 2008 if more than one local drive with enough space is on your system.

5.2 Crystal Reports can take several minutes. Do not interrupt the process. The status screen can sometimes appear in the background. Click the flashing item on your taskbar or use the <ALT> + <Tab> key combination to switch to that window. 5.3 When the installation has finished, a final check will be completed to ensure all components are properly installed and configured. When that has returned successfully, you will see the screen below.

5.4 If prompted to restart, be sure Yes, I want to restart my computer now is selected, and click Finish. Leave the Component DVD in the drive until after you have completely restarted the computer and logged back on. This is to ensure any components that required a restart have finished installing and configuring.

6 Licensing Crystal & Verifying Connectivity If you have not licensed Crystal Report Writer on your systems, SunGard Relius recommends verifying entering that licensing information. 6.1 Open Crystal Reports. Click Start Programs Crystal Reports 2008. The first time a user opens the program, user-specific configuration and files will be generated. 6.2 If the program has not been registered, you will be prompted to do so. Click Next.

6.3 Select I am a registered member then enter the Registration Number of 6089606239 and click Finish. 6.4 The Crystal registration should be complete. Click OK. At that point, you should see the Crystal startup screen. 6.5 You are now ready to download and install Relius Administration 14.0. Remember that you can continue running earlier versions of Relius Administration after this Component installation and before receiving and installing Relius Administration 14.0. 6.6 Repeat the process of installing the Relius Components on each workstation, beginning with Step 2.1.

Appendix A Windows Vista Considerations The complexity of Windows Vista has caused many companies to delay implementation in their enterprise. Cancel or Allow? Many of the basic functions in previous versions are locked down by default in Windows Vista. Because of this, you may receive messages of Cancel or Allow? or Continue or Cancel? during the course of Relius Administration installations. This is to be expected. User Account Control Despite being logged on as the system administrator, various administrative functions are under a second layer of protection, called User Account Control, or UAC. SunGard Relius discourages clients from disabling UAC within Windows Vista. Turning off UAC will halt all protection provided by Microsoft, undermining the first line of defense in the new Operating System. Instead, if a particular function fails, right-click the shortcut and choose Run as administrator. You will most likely be prompted to cancel or allow this action. You will then be granted temporary administrative privileges for that function. Windows Aero The newest, fancy display settings embedded in Windows Vista is called Aero. It utilizes highcapacity video cards and enhanced graphic display monitors to their fullest potential, including real-time monitoring of background activity. Although this function is attractive to many users, it does appear to consume an extra 100 MB of system memory. If you are low on system resources, consider scaling back or disabling the Aero function.

Appendix B Installing from a Network Resource The Relius Administration Component DVD can now be installed from a network resource. Due to the size of the component installation, and the possible lack of DVD drives on existing systems, SunGard Relius recognizes the need to install from a shared network drive. However, the following steps must be taken to ensure a smooth installation. B.1 Copy the entire DVD to a separate folder on your file server (e.g., RA14Comp). B.2 On the file server, create a share and allow the necessary users to access the folder and all its files. Rights to Write and Full Control are not necessary. B.3 From the workstation within Windows Explorer, click Tools Map Network Drive. Enter the information accordingly. Be sure the user has the ability to reconnect whenever logging back on. This share must be map-rooted (setup.exe at the root of the network drive letter), or the installation will fail. B.4 Run the installation from the newly mapped drive as if it were a DVD drive. B.5 When the installation is complete and all necessary components are installed, the mapped drive can be disconnected.
