TB-116 / August 5, 2015 Airmar B75 transducer compatibility with BSM-3 Product: 000-12492-001, 000-12493-001, 000-12494-001, 000-12495-001, 000-12496-001, 000-12497-001, Product Description: Airmar B75 and BSM-3 Software Version: ALL Effective Date: July 2015 Inspect/Update Current Inventory: No Airmar B75 Wiring All Navico Airmar B75 transducers shipping with the blue 7-pin connector have been hardwired for connection to SonarHub modules. This wiring does not match the required wiring for connection to the connectors on Simrad BSM-3 modules. If directly connected to the port on a BSM-3, an Airmar B75 will fail to report its XID and temperature readings to the BSM-3. It is recommended to cut off the hard-wired blue 7-pin connector attached to the B75 and use the wires inside the cable to wire it directly to the terminal blocks inside the BSM-3, thus bypassing the connectors on the module. This does not affect other models of Airmar transducers. For connecting the bare wires, follow this diagram: ORANGE WHITE ORANGE WHITE BROWN & SHIELD OUTER SHIELD BLUE INNER BLACK BROWN & SHIELD OUTER BLUE/ SHIELD WHITE INNER BLACK/ WHITE B75H B75M B75L Page 1 of 2

VRF Calibration is a critical step in commissioning the new Outboard Pilot, as shown in this video: Lowrance Outboard Pilot Commissioning To date, all instructions on this refer to using the onscreen buttons for completing this process; however, we have learned that some users are having issues with this method. For those who cannot complete the onscreen calibration, you may alternately complete the calibration by pressing and holding the + key on your physical keypad. When you get to this step in the commissioning process: Instead of pressing and holding Turn to Port on the screen, you may instead press and hold the + key on the keypad. Page 1 of 2

Password protection for system settings RTM 3.0 includes an optional PIN protection feature for system settings, files and GoFree Shop access. A PIN code can be applied under HOME>SETTINGS>PIN CODE. The PIN code is a 4-digit number and if forgotten the user will either need to perform a hard reset or contact customer support for an unlock code. Fixes and Improvements Lockup on start up An issue was identified on some Zeus 2 displays that resulted in the unit reaching the boot splash screen, locking up then rebooting. This issue has been resolved in RTM 3.0. Touch screen improvements Improvements have been made to the touch screen drivers to resolve intermittent touch on some Zeus 2 displays. WIFI-1 software RTM-3.0 has an important integrated software upgrade for the WIFI-1 module. After RTM 3.0 has been installed, the Zeus 2 will update any WIFI-1 units on the Ethernet network. Follow the onscreen directions. Power cycle the WIFi-1 module after the upgrade. Ethernet network stability Radar: Improvements to Ethernet network connectivity to avoid the No Radar message sometimes encountered using 3G or 4G Radars. ForwardScan: Resolved an issue where in some circumstances ForwardScan would show No Source message. Note: If ForwardScan transducer is connected to a SonarHub. The SonarHub module will require an update. Download the file Sonar_Hub-3.0-52.1.103-32282-r1-Standard-1.riw at bandg.com. Power control setting The default (Factory Reset) setting for Power Control has now changed from Slave to Master. The setting change will apply to new factory units or when a v3.0 unit has been reset to factory defaults. Change in update procedure There is a slight change to the behavior of the update process. Once this update has been applied: The display will restart and will now bypass the Update selection menu Zeus 2 MFD: On some displays the unit will then perform a touch calibration. This will have a prompt not to touch the screen. This will take a few seconds and reboot afterwards. This step only happens during this update. Page 3 of 4

Known Issues Listed below are a number of issues we are aware of but were not fixed in time for this release. We are working hard to resolve these issues for the next release of software later in the year. Import of large user data files can cause a lowering of performance Persistent Jeppesen message appearing on start-up if C-MAP chart card is used Pulse radar Manual Tune settings not retained: Magnetron hours reported incorrectly SETTINGS > ADVANCED > FEATURES. Changes made are not retained after a power cycle Issues displaying Zeus 2 Glass Helm on to some third party monitors AIS TCPA/CPA information not appearing when used with some AIS receivers SonarHub settings do not persist after a power cycle Instances of dual chart split screen both with Sirius weather overlay over Navionics chart can cause an MFD to crash For More Information: U.S. Based Resellers Technical and Order Support: (800) 324-4737 Canada Based Resellers Technical Support: (855) 361-1564 You may also send any inquiries via email to the addresses listed below, according to your salesgroup classification: OEM/Boatbuilder oem-bb@navico.com International/Latin America international@navico.com National Retail retail@navico.com Dealers/Distributors orders@navico.com Page 4 of 4

Upgrade Instructions Before commencing with the upgrade it is recommended that network traffic is minimized by depowering unnecessary devices such as AIS transponders, and multifunction displays. Upgrades must be performed dock side and not whilst the vessel is underway. Some NMEA 2000 devices will go into maintenance mode during the upgrade and will be off line. Make sure all monitors to be upgrades are connected to the NMEA 2000 network. Download the zipped software package from the B&G website Unzip the two files to the root of a media card (SD card for Zeus 2 GH, micro SD for Zeus 2 ) The Updaters can be run from any B&G MFD that is on the same NMEA 2000 network as the ZM Monitor. If there is another MFD other than a Zeus 2 GH it is recommended to run the updater from that MFD.
