1.0 REQUIRED EQUIPMENT Unmanaged Ethernet switch or hub (or existing network infrastructure) Two (2) standard Ethernet cables Serial download cable (Crossover RJ45 DB9) Pinout: RJ45 DB9 2 3 3 2 5 5 2.0 SETUP 2.1 PHYSICALLY CONNECT EDGE OR IOE2 TO PC 2.1.1 CONNECT PC SERIAL PORT TO EDGE OR IOE2 CONFIGURATION PORT Using the serial download cable, connect the serial port of your PC to the PC Configuration port (usually port 2) of the RTU. NOTE: required only if the IP address of the EDGE OR IOE2 unit is unknown and/or needs to be changed. 2.1.2 CONNECT EDGE OR IOE2 TO ETHERNET SWITCH Connect the EDGE OR IOE2 to the Ethernet switch using an Ethernet cable. NOTE: the EDGE OR IOE2 unit and your PC can be directly connected to the existing LAN, eliminating the need for the Ethernet switch please see your network administrator for IP/subnet assignments. 3
2.1.3 CONNECT PC TO ETHERNET SWITCH Connect your PC to the Ethernet switch using an Ethernet cable. Ethernet Switch or Hub Ethernet EDGE Ethernet Serial 2.1.4 CONFIGURE PC IP ADDRESS A static IP address may be required. NOTE: an unmanaged Ethernet switch or hub does not contain the ability to act as a DHCP server and will not automatically assign an IP address to your PC. The PC and EDGE OR IOE2 IP addresses must be on same subnet. With this subnet mask: 255.255.0.0 RTU IP Address: 192.168.0.10 These fields must match: PC IP Address: 192.168.1.11 To set a static IP address: Step 1: If your PC is WIFI capable, disable any WIFI connection. Step 2: Go to Start > Open Control Panel. 4
Step 3: Double-click on the Network Connections icon. Step 4: Find the Local Area Connection associated with your NIC (network card) and double-click on it. Step 5: The Local Area Connection status window will be displayed. Next, click on the Properties button. Step 6: Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the This connection uses the following items window. Step 7: Click on the Properties button. 5
Step 8: The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window will be displayed. Click the Use the following IP address radio button. Step 9: Enter the desired IP address and subnet mask. In most cases the default gateway can be left blank. Step 10: Click OK. Click Close. Click Close. Step 11: From the start menu, click Run. Step 12: Type CMD and press Enter. Step 13: A DOS window will appear. Type IPCONFIG and press Enter. Step 14: Verify that the displayed IP address matches what you just set. Step 15: Type exit and press Enter. 6
2.1.5 DETERMINE EDGE OR IOE2 IP ADDRESS Step 1: Open Calterm2. Step 2: Establish a connection with the COM port connected to the RTU. 115200 baud default mode 9600 baud typical functional mode Step 3: Press Enter until prompt is displayed. Step 4: Type ipconfig then press Enter. The RTU IP address is displayed 2.1.6 CHANGE EDGE OR IOE2 IP ADDRESS If necessary, change the IP address of the RTU. Step 1: Establish Calterm connection to RTU diagnostic port. Step 2: Press Enter until prompt is displayed. Step 3: Type changeip.* Step 4: When prompted enter IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway. Step 5: Type reboot f to reboot EDGE or IOE2 and apply new Ethernet settings. *If firmware of EDGE or IOE2 is older than release 5.5.9.38, the changeip will not be available. To change the IP parameters in versions prior to 5.5.9.38, a configuration containing the PC configuration application must be downloaded. 7
2.1.7 DOWNLOAD CONFIGURATION Step 1: Open Callistoview and open the configuration file (.cvd). Step 2: Verify IP address in configuration matches what is set on EDGE or IOE2. *Callistoview will connect to the IP address provided here for configuration download. 1. From main Callistoview screen click on EDGE or IOE2 button in the Node Type column. 2. Click on the Advanced button to view config s IP settings. 3. Change Default IP Settings to match IP setting configured on the EDGE or IOE2. 4. Press OK to apply change and return to main Callistoview screen. 8
Step 3: Go to Setup > COM Port. Select IP High Speed (Node 1). The high speed option can only download to a single node with a direct Ethernet connection. The IP download (non-high speed) can be used to download to all nodes in a configuration. However, this option is only slightly faster than a serial connection due to ArcNET bandwidth limitations. Step 4: Select the node you wish to download to. Step 5: Go to the Communicate > Download menu and choose Selected Node. Step 6: The configuration will compile. A window will open asking Do you want to download?. Click Yes to proceed with the download. The download dialog will open and download will commence. The firmware of the Callistoview version you are using will automatically be loaded onto the RTU. Upon completion, you will be returned to the main Callistoview window. 9
