1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 ABOUT EASYDNNROTATOR EasyDNNrotator is a DNN module that allows you to use a number of attractive sliders and rotators. With a large number of options at your disposal, you will find sliders and rotators easy to adjust to your needs. Content is added to the rotator by means of a simple Content manager, so managing slides won't be a problem even for non-technical users. You can use the module independently and create various presentations for your web sites. There is an additional option integration with our popular EasyDNNnews module, where the rotator automatically displays articles, events and blogs from the news module. In the same way, the rotator also displays galleries from the Gravity gallery display of EasyDNNgallery module. 1.2 CUSTOMER SUPPORT We provide customer support for both commercial and trial versions of the module. Customer support can be obtained in two ways: - by creating a support ticket through the support form available at our web pages - by sending an e-mail to support@easydnnsolutions.com In order to receive the best and fastest support, we advise you to send us as much information as you possibly can, such as your DNN version, our module's version, description of the problem, a screenshot or, best of all, a link to the page where we can inspect the problem. 1.3 RELATED PRODUCTS Integration of EasyDNNnews and EasyDNNrotator modules EasyDNNrotator module can automatically load articles from EasyDNNnews module and display them in one of its attractive sliders. This will contribute to your web page's appeal, it will enhance user experience and predictably contribute to your articles actually being read. Once you set up the options of loading articles from the news module, articles will be displayed in the rotator without any additional actions or setting up in the rotator module. Thanks to this feature, even authors and editors with very limited technical experience can now administer complex news or blog pages. The prerequisite for displaying of articles in the rotator is using the main article image within articles. If you wish to display an image from an article in the rotator, you need to specify in the module which image it is, and you will do that by marking it as the main article image of an article. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 2

Integration with EasyDNNgallery module EasyDNNrotator can use galleries from EasyDNNgallery module as a source of slides. Integration with Gravity gallery display (EasyDNNgallery) In version 6, EasyDNNrotator can now display galleries from Gravity gallery display of the EasyDNNgallery module. Galleries are displayed by various criteria, such as "most popular". For more info about the integration with EasyDNNnews and EasyDNNgallery module please check chapter 7. 1.4 LICENSES STANDARD LICENSE Module usage: The standard license allows the activation and use on 1 DNN portal. Gravity gallery select this option if you want to display galleries added to Gravity gallery display of EasyDNNgallery Step 3 Tweak the options of rotator display. Step 4 Save your settings. Then select a category and the list you want to display, which can be any of the created lists. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 26

Once you have selected the list you want to display, predefined settings of some slider types will appear. Choose the desired settings by clicking on the Load button or you can choose from the dropdown list. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 27

After that, it is necessary to adjust the appearance settings. Choose a template from the Select custom template dropdown menu (currently there is only one template). From the Select theme menu choose slider theme. In the Number of content to rotate field enter the maximum number of items from the list that will be displayed. If the default number is 0, then all items from the list will be displayed. The sketch shows the elements of the slider. You can click the name of an element, e.g. Navigation arrows and you will be positioned at navigation arrow customization settings. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 28

All settings that can be adjusted are thoroughly described in tooltips that appear when the user pauses the mouse pointer over the button. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 29

6. CROP TOOL If necessary, you can crop your pictures to fit the display better. To access the Crop tool, click the Manage button of the module and then click on the Crop Tool button from the menu. Select the picture you want to crop by clicking the Crop button in front of the picture. Then, the interface by which you can crop the main and thumbnail image will appear. Once you adjust the selection of a rectangular area of a picture within red dashed lines, you need to click the Crop and Save button. It is important to note that the original image is still preserved, and the cropping process can be repeated. Cropping is done only at the module instance level. If you use the same list in another module instance, you will need to crop the same image again. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 31

7. INTEGRATION WITH EASYDNNNEWS AND EASYDNNGALLERY MODULES 7.1. INTEGRATION WITH EASYDNNNEWS MODULE EasyDNNrotator module can automatically load articles from EasyDNNnews module and display them in one of its attractive sliders. The main article image The prerequisite for displaying of articles in the rotator is using the main article image within articles. If you wish to display an image from an article in the rotator, you need to specify in the module which image it is, and you will do that by marking it as the main article image. EasyDNNnews module has an in-built image management so it is very easy to upload images into articles, and the module will automatically adjust them and display them in articles. Whichever image you have uploaded into the article, you can mark it as the main article image. Main article image is not used only to display articles in the rotator it is also used as the introductory or first image in the article. Furthermore, main article image is used to create thumbnails displayed on the list of articles. How to integrate with EasyDNNnews module For the integration to be functional, both modules need to be installed on the same DNN portal. All the settings are available in EasyDNNrotator module. Place the rotator module on your web page. Open Rotator settings. In the first step select the desired rotator type. In the second step select content source. Options include Lists (referring to those lists added directly into the rotator module), News module (this is our choice when we wish to load articles from the news module) and Gallery module (our EasyDNNgallery module you can also use to load galleries into the rotator). So, to integrate with EasyDNNnews module it is necessary to select the News module as content source. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 33

After selecting the News module as content source, a panel with instructions will be opened, allowing you to set up all the options of loading an article into the module. What follows is a list of explanations what each option actually does. Select permissions source Here you can select which permissions will be used by the rotator module to display articles to the users. In the rotator there are no permissions that could limit users' ability to see articles, but the rotator module can load permissions from the news module, thus displaying articles in accordance with permissions from the news module to the users. Available choices are None, Portal and Module. If None is selected, the rotator module will use no permissions at all. If Portal is selected, the rotator module will use permissions set up to be valid across the whole DNN portal for EasyDNNnews module. If Module is selected, you can choose between some of the EasyDNNnews module's instances on the portal whose permissions will be used. Enable clean-up for this instance If this option is selected, the scheduler will automatically clean up the images and thumbnails not used in the rotator anymore. Images used in the news module will not be subjected to this clean-up. EasyDNNrotator 7.0 User's guide support@easydnnsolutions.com P a g e 34

Clean up images not used after Here you can set up the number of days prior to the clean-up of images. Select instance of the news module where articles will be opened If you have multiple instances of the news module on your portal, here you can select that instance of the news module where you wish the article details to be opened. Select categories for articles to be displayed from Select the categories for the articles to be displayed from. "Display All Articles" will display articles from all categories. If you unselect "Display All Articles", you can choose individual categories for the articles to be displayed from. Select authors whose articles will be displayed. Select the authors from the news module whose articles you wish to be displayed in the rotator. "Display All Authors" will display the articles by all authors. If you unselect "Display All Authors", you can choose individual authors whose articles you wish to be displayed in the rotator.
