To ensure you can access myview from your home computer or another computer outside the school district, you may need to take the following steps: INTERNET SETTINGS For your browser, you must have Internet Explorer version 5.5 SP1 (or higher) or Netscape version 6.2. To use myview with a Macintosh, you must have Firefox version 3.6.0 or higher. Web browsers must be configured to check for a new version of web pages every time, not just once a day. The default setting for browsers is to look for a local hard drive copy of a web page instead of going back to the server. You will need to configure your browsers to retrieve the web page from the server every time. To configure PC Internet Explorer to retrieve a new version of web pages every time: 1. From the menu line, select Tools. 2. Select Internet Options. 3. Choose the General tab. 4. Choose Temporary Internet Files or Browsing History. 5. Choose Settings. 6. Select Every Visit To The Page. 7. Click on OK. To configure PC Netscape to retrieve a new version of web pages every time: 1. From the menu line, select Edit. 2. Select Preferences. 3. Select the + in front of Advanced. 4. Select Cache. 5. Under Document in Cache is Compared to Document on the Network, select Every Time. 6. Click on OK. To configure Macintosh Internet Explorer or Netscape: 1. From the menu line, select Edit. 2. Select Preferences. 3. Scroll down then select Advanced. 4. Make the Cache setting Always or Every Time. CREATE YOUR MYVIEW LOGIN You will be given an encrypted access key token. You will use this token the first time you log into myview. Once you have successfully accessed myview, you will be guided through creating your own user name and password. 1. To log into myview, you will need two things: The last 4 digits of your Social Security number An access key token created by your district office The ESS Access Key Token will be similar to this sample: 2. On your computer, enter the web address: https://www.tiescloud.net/myview/apps/ess_login_secure.asp? The myview Log In screen will be displayed as shown below: 3. The first time you login, you need to create your user name and password. Before filling in any information, click on the I Haven t Registered Yet button. The myview Registration screen will be displayed. Page 3 of 5 Rev. March 2015
4. In the District Number field, enter 0013. For subsequent logins, eliminate the leading zeros. 5. In the Your Employee Access Key field, enter the access key from your access key token printout. 6. Click on the Continue button. 7. Enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. 8. Click on the Continue button. The system verifies that the access token you entered was created for the person with the Social Security digits you entered. If the verification fails, you will be asked to reenter your access token and the final 4 digits of your Social Security number. When your credentials are verified, the next myview Registration screen will be displayed. 9. On this myview Registration screen, you will: a. Enter your user name. You may use any combination of letters and numbers (except spaces and ~) as long as the combination has not already been used by someone else. b. Create your password according to the rules noted on the screen. c. Confirm your password by re-entering it. Page 4 of 5 Rev. March 2015
d. Enter the email address where you want to receive an email if you forget your password and the answers to your questions. The email will include the questions you select in the next step, the answers you give, and a link to the myview login. When you try again to login, you will need to supply the correct answers to those questions. If you do not enter and confirm an email address, you will be prompted to enter it each time you log in. When you do enter an email address, you will receive an email asking you to verify your email address. A link in the email will confirm the email address in myview. Once you click on the link in the email, you will receive the following message: e. Select a series of three questions and supply the answers. These questions will be presented if you forget your password. Responding with the correct answers will allow you to bypass the password. Answers must be typed EXACTLY THE SAME as when you register. Keep it simple! (We recommend choosing questions/answers that do not require a date) f. When finished, click on the Log In button. Page 5 of 5 Rev. March 2015
