Important Notice Throughout all installation processes we mention the user of the FireFox web browser. It is important to note there is a SPECIFIC version of FireFox that you must use. We will always include a download link for this FireFox version in our customer s portal and customer s installation instructions webpage. For your reference here is a link the to the approved FireFox version as of this writing: https://www.mozilla.org/en- US/firefox/organizations/all/ Scroll down and select the English version. This version of FireFox is called FireFox ESR and is intended for use for organizations, like ChiroSpring, who deploy their software through a web browser. As a reminder here are a few important bullet points: Mac Users ChiroSpring Installation: You must use the FireFox ESR web browser (referenced above) to Install ChiroSpring PC Users ChiroSpring Installation: May download with FireFox ESR May download with Internet Explorer (NOT Microsoft Edge) May download with our proprietary ChiroSpring Installer Tool (www.chirospring.com/installer.php)

Overview One of the core benefits of ChiroSpring is its extremely fast and simple installation process. Many chiropractic software programs require hours of installation time and that is just for ONE COMPUTER! They also require complex networking within your practice that many times you are left to deal with on your own. Or, you may have to hire an expensive IT expert just to get you set up. ChiroSpring solves both of these issues with its easy installation technique. ChiroSpring works natively both on Mac and a Windows PC. The instructions are only slightly different depending on which platform you are installing on. The following guide will show you the installation instructions for both. TIP: Completely close (shut down) ChiroSpring at the end of the day. Do not leave the program open for multiple days or overnight. The software requires a constant connection to the internet and many computers go to sleep or hibernate. Therefore we recommend ALWAYS opening the program to start the day vs. leaving it open from the previous day. Remember to shut down ChiroSpring every day! When you purchase ChiroSpring you will be given a unique link. Do not share this link with anyone. If you did share it you are still safe as the link takes you to your log in screen, which requires a username and password that only you know. DO NOT LOSE THIS LINK!!! YOU WILL NEED IT FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES. We recommend bookmaking this link as well as writing it down in a secure location. However, not to worry, if you forget your link when a new update is released we provide your link in a POP UP window for you. :D Here is an example of a customer s link: https://app.chirospring.com/1312343246/chiroapptestpage.html Notice the s in the https? This stands for secure and is a reminder to you that your data is encrypted as it is transferred to and from the cloud. When you purchase ChiroSpring you will also be given a username and password via email (along with your link). You must change your password immediately as the password you are given is an easy to guess password. You can also change your username should you wish. If at any time you have trouble please contact support at support@chirospring.com or call (888) 426-0007 during business hours (M-F 8 am 4 pm CST).

First Time Installation on a Windows PC Installing ChiroSpring for the first time on a Microsoft Windows PC is a simple process. Because ChiroSpring is installed through a web browser the installation process is fast and easy. The biggest problem is choosing the right web browser because not all handle the installation process gracefully. For this reason, we strongly recommend using Microsoft s Internet Explorer to install ChiroSpring on a Windows PC. This is a great choice because it is installed and updated by default on your Windows PC. Even those Windows 10 machines that default to using Microsoft s Edge browser still will also have Internet Explorer installed on the computer. These instructions will guide you through first time ChiroSpring installation on your Windows PC. 1. Open Internet Explorer. 2. Install or update Microsoft Silverlight. This is a critical step because ChiroSpring requires Microsoft Silverlight to run. Type this link into the web browser www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight or you may do a Google search for get Silverlight and click the returned result as shown here. If you have the most recent version of Silverlight the web page will look something like this, letting you know that you are ready to use Silverlight. Note, this should be Silverlight 5 or higher. If you do not have Silverlight installed or your version is outdated then install the latest version by following the instructions for installing or updating Silverlight provided on the website. 3. Enter your customer link, for example https://app.chirospring.com/1312343246/chiroapptestpage.html, into the web browser and press enter. If you see a spinning blue circle (like the one shown below) then Microsoft

Silverlight has been installed correctly. Please wait for ChiroSpring to finish downloading. If you see the Click now to install Microsoft Silverlight screen instead (as shown below) then Microsoft Silverlight was not installed successfully. We recommend not clicking the Click now to install button, but instead installing Silverlight directly from Microsoft s website by following the instructions outlined in step 2. Do Not Click The Above Box If It Appears! It will install an OUTDATED version of Silverlight. 4. Once the spinning blue circle reaches 100%, you should soon see the Install ChiroSpring screen as shown below.

5. Click on the Click to Install button and you should now see a dialog that looks like this. Click the Install button. This will immediately open ChiroSpring and bring you to the ChiroSpring login screen. It will also create a shortcut icon on your desktop. Use this desktop icon to open ChiroSpring in the future.

First Time Installation on a Mac using FireFox ESR Installing ChiroSpring for the first time on a Mac is fairly quick. Because ChiroSpring is installed through a web browser the installation process is fast and easy. The biggest problem is choosing the right web browser, because not all handle the installation process gracefully. For this reason, we strongly recommend using Mozilla FireFox ESR to install ChiroSpring on a Mac. However, this does require downloading and installing a third party web browser. These instructions will guide you through first time ChiroSpring installation on your Mac using FireFox ESR. 1. Download and install FireFox ESR. Link Here: https://www.mozilla.org/en- US/firefox/organizations/all/ 2. 3. Enter your customer link (for example https://app.chirospring.com/1312343246/chiroapptestpage.html), into the web browser and press enter. If you see a spinning blue circle (like the one shown below) then Microsoft

Silverlight has been installed correctly. Please wait for ChiroSpring to finish downloading. If you see the Click now to install Microsoft Silverlight screen instead (as shown below) then choose one of the following options: (1) Ensure you installed Microsoft Silverlight. Do not click the Click now to install button as it may install an outdated version of Silverlight, but instead install Silverlight directly from Microsoft s website as outlined in step 2. (2) If you have already installed Microsoft Silverlight then you must activate the Silverlight plug-in from within FireFox ESR. Proceed to the next step for instructions on how to do this. Do Not Click The Above Box If It Appears! It will install an OUTDATED version of Silverlight.

4. Activate the Silverlight Plug-in within FireFox ESR. Skip this step if ChiroSpring downloaded successfully. Click the settings button on the far right section of the browser and select Add-ons. On the Add-ons page click on Plugins on the left (see image below). Scroll down until you see the Silverlight Plug-in (if not present you have not installed Silverlight properly). On the Silverlight Plug-in, click the drop down and make sure it is set to Always Activate. Close out of that browser tab (changes should save automatically) and reopen (click refresh) your link in the browser. It should now open successfully to the Install ChiroSpring screen. 5. Once the spinning blue circle reaches 100%, you should soon see the Install ChiroSpring screen as shown below.

6. Click on the Click to Install button and you should now see a dialog that looks like this. Click the Install button. 7. Click on the Open Downloads Folder. 8. Continue to section Completing Installation on a Mac to finish the install

Completing Installation on a Mac Once ChiroSpring has been downloaded and installed there are a few housekeeping procedures we strongly recommend performing. Follow the instructions below to complete the installation. These instructions are valid no matter which web browser was used to install ChiroSpring. 1. In your Downloads folder locate the ChiroSpring application. Now drag and drop it into your Applications folder shown here on the left. 2. To open ChiroSpring for the first time on a Mac you MUST hold down the control key on your keyboard, then click the application and select Open. If you do not hold down control you will be unable to open the application. This is because your Mac does not recognize the developer of this program and will not let you open it, even if you click open it still will not let you open it. Note that you will ONLY have to hold control the FIRST TIME you open ChiroSpring; after that it will open by clicking on it without holding control.

3. We also recommend dragging and dropping your ChiroSpring application to your DOCK for easier access. To do this click and hold on the ChiroSpring application (in Applications folder) and drag to your bottom DOCK (as shown below).

4. You may need to adjust your DOCK size (the bottom row of icons on your Mac). If your dock size is set too large the bottom portion of the ChiroSpring screen will be cut off when you open the software. To make your dock size smaller go to System Preferences and click on Dock. Now adjust the dock size here until it is small enough that it does not cut off the bottom portion of ChiroSpring when opened. Note: If you are using an ipad with Splashtop to connect to your Mac (to use ChiroSpring on your ipad) you will also need to check the Automatically hide and show the Dock box.

Logging into ChiroSpring for the First Time If you see this log in screen you have successfully installed ChiroSpring. Use the username and password you were given and remember to change your password right away. To change your password go to the Settings App on the front desk, then select the Users App and find your account.

Updating ChiroSpring When an update to ChiroSpring is issued, you must install the update yourself on all your computers. The update process is almost identical to the first time install process with a few differences. Follow the instructions below to update ChiroSpring on your computer. 1. Open your customer link (e.g. https://app.chirospring.com/1312343246/chiroapptestpage.html) which you hopefully bookmarked when you initially installed ChiroSpring in your web browser. Remember if you are on a Windows PC you can use Internet Explorer or FireFox ESR or the ChiroSpring Installer Tool. On Mac you MUST user FireFox ESR. 2. Once ChiroSpring downloads you will be presented with the initial install screen. Open the context menu in the Right Click to Uninstall (i.e. right click the mouse on a Windows PC or press and hold the mouse button on a Mac) and select Remove this application (See image below). Note: do not worry; you will not lose any patient data or settings). If you do not perform this step then you will be presented with the following dialog as shown below.

3. If you are using a Windows tablet, and the Remove this application option is not available, you can simply uninstall ChiroSpring from the Windows Control Panel. Just search for Control Panel from your tablet, choose Programs and Features, and choose to uninstall the ChiroApp Application. 4. Finally follow the first time installation procedures to finish the install. For a Windows PC use Internet Explorer (not Internet Explorer Edge), FireFox ESR or the ChiroSpring Installer Tool. For Mac you must use FireFox ESR.

Using ChiroSpring on an ipad It is important to note that ChiroSpring will not run natively on an ipad. The software has been designed to be usable on an ipad and render pixel for pixel full screen; it looks gorgeous on an ipad. However, the use of a third party app is required in order to run ChiroSpring on an ipad. We recommend Splashtop to accomplish this. Splashtop Personal can be downloaded from the Apple Appstore. Splashtop is a remote desktop application. To use it you will need to install Splashtop Streamer onto your computer (www.splashtop.com) and the Splashtop Personal App onto your ipad. In this configuration, the computer will actually be running ChiroSpring and you will use the ipad to remote control it through Splashtop. Create a Splashtop account and log in on both your computer and ipad. Your ipad can now remotely connect to your computer. Note, you will need to install ChiroSpring on your computer. Using Splashtop your ipad will connect to your computer and display ChiroSpring (when opened) full screen on the ipad. If using a Mac you may need to turn on the Auto Hide Dock setting (see Completing Installation on a Mac for instructions on how to do this). Note that at the time of this writing Splashtop is free to use on a private local network (e.g. inside your clinic), however, a pay account is required to remote control a computer over the internet (very few users require that capability). Make sure you download the Splashtop Personal App onto your ipad. Other versions of Splashtop will not work.

Using ChiroSpring on a Tablet If you are looking to run ChiroSpring on a tablet device, a Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 tablet is the best option, as it if offers a native TOUCH experience (no third party app necessary). We recommend going to www.amazon.com and searching for Windows 8.1 tablet or Windows 10 tablet. Then on the left click on the 10 inch tablets as well as the 4 star and up reviews. This will give you the best Windows tablets available! We do not recommend tablets with screens smaller than 10 inches as users have found it difficult to navigate the software with the smaller screens. Important: The Windows tablet must not run Windows RT. Windows RT will not work as it is a stripped down version of Windows and will not run the Silverlight plug-in required by ChiroSpring.

Installation Troubleshooting 1. I keep downloading an older version of ChiroSpring. This can happen because web browsers like to cache the web pages you visit to your hard drive for faster access next time. However, this can be problematic when you want the most recent page. The good news is that there is a simple solution: clear the browser history. Here are the steps for the browsers we recommend. Firefox: Click Preferences Privacy. Then click clear your recent history. In the box that opens click Clear Now. Internet Explorer: Click menu Tools Internet Options. Under browsing history click delete button. Make sure Preserve favorite s website data is not checked and Temporary Internet Files and Website Files is checked. Click Delete. My customer link opens to a white screen in FireFox. To resolve this issue first clear your browser history as described here and then re-install Microsoft Silverlight per the first time install instructions. After performing these two steps re-open your link; it should now open to the install screen. 2. ChiroSpring won t install with Microsoft Edge Browser When accessing your ChiroSpring link via the Microsoft Edge browser, you ll receive a message indicating that you need to please install Microsoft Silverlight. Because of the way the Edge browser interacts with Silverlight, you ll always receive this message, whether you have Silverlight installed or not. Rather than continuing to use the Microsoft Edge browser, instead switch to the Internet Explorer browser and access your link once more. To open Internet Explorer, click the

Windows Start button, and in the Search the web and Windows search box, simply type Internet Explorer and click on the Internet Explorer Desktop app link at the top. Attempt to access your ChiroSpring link once more and the software download and installation process should go smooth for you. 3. Uninstalling Microsoft Silverlight on a Mac If you are having trouble opening or installing ChiroSpring, sometimes removing and reinstalling Microsoft Silverlight will solve the problem. To uninstall Silverlight on a Mac, simply follow these instructions: a. On your keyboard, press Command + Spacebar and type silverlight.plugin. b. Double-click show all in finder. This will open a dialog box (finder) with the Silverlight.plugin. c. Right-click on Silverlight.plugin and select Move to Trash d. Finally, empty your trash e. Next, to reinstall Silverlight, follow the instructions found here. 4. Microsoft Silverlight will not install on my PC If you are having trouble installing Microsoft Silverlight it will prevent you from correctly installing ChiroSpring. Your first step is to try and uninstall Silverlight by choosing START > CONTROL PANEL > PROGRAMS AND FEATURES > select MICROSOFT SILVERLIGHT and choose UNINSTALL. However, in rare cases, corrupted Silverlight programs will still not uninstall properly. In these instances, please follow the instructions below: a. Open any ChiroSpring applications on your desktop, and once open, right-click and choose REMOVE THIS APPLICATION. b. Navigate to the following folder on your computer: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Silverlight\OutOfBrowser c. Delete all files and folders at this location. d. Return to your ChiroSpring Installer and again attempt to download and install Silverlight and ChiroSpring.

5. Other troubleshooting tips: * Ensure you have the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight onto your computer. Go to www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight to verify this and update if necessary. * Ensure that you have a good internet connection. An intermittent connection can make installation difficult. * Ensure that you do not have an anti-virus program or a firewall setting that is blocking the installation of ChiroSpring. 6. I am not able to Right-Click to Uninstall ChiroSpring * Ensure the option to right-click is turned on in System Preferences>Mouse Option.

Problems running ChiroSpring 1. When I open ChiroSpring I immediately get an error message, or I sometimes get an error message that says my internet connection has been lost. If you immediately get an error message than it is very likely that ChiroSpring cannot reach the cloud servers through its internet connection. Make sure the computer has an internet connection (using your web browser, try browsing to different web sites). If you can confirm a good internet connection then you may need to clear your DNS cache (this is very uncommon, but it does happen). Instructions for clearing your DNS cache can be found in a separate manual in your Customer Folder. It is important that ChiroSpring has a good and reliable connection to the internet because your data is stored in the cloud. We recommend a good broadband connection service such as DSL or cable. There are no minimum speed requirements required by ChiroSpring, but for best user experience we recommend a 1 Mbs (MegaBits per second) connection and a ping less than 100 ms (milliseconds). You can test your internet connection by going to www.speedtest.net. Other issues that can affect your internet connection are your computers connection to your internet modem/router. We strongly recommend where possible to hard wire (e.g. Ethernet cable) your computers to your internet modem. With tablet and other portable devices this is not possible and wireless solutions are needed such as Wi-Fi. In general, troubleshooting wireless connection problems can be difficult and often requires a skilled technical professional. However, here are some tips that may help: * Ensure you have a strong wireless signal in all places in your practice you wish to use your device. Wireless signals can be tricky because they reflect off of metal surfaces and interfere with each other causing dead spots. Use the signal strength meter built into your computer to measure the signals strength. * Having excellent signal strength in all your rooms may not be enough. Wireless signals from other devices can interfere with your wireless connection. Perhaps a neighbor next door is also using wireless or a cell phone is broadcasting a wireless hot spot. These sources and more can cause havoc on your wireless signal and cause intermittent connections. This type of interference is difficult or impossible to detect without sophisticated equipment.

However, if you suspect this as a problem you can try slightly changing the frequency of your wireless signal by changing its channel. In the settings of your wireless device you have the option to change its channel, usually between 1 and 14. Try changing to different channels until you find one that no one else around you seems to be using. 2. Part of ChiroSpring is cutoff at the bottom of my screen. In Microsoft Windows you may need to change your system default text size to normal. In Windows 7, right click on the desktop and choose Personalize. In the bottom left corner click Display. Change the setting to Smaller 100% (default). If you have trouble at any time, please contact ChiroSpring support at support@chirospring.com or (888) 426-0007. We would be happy to help! Uninstalling Microsoft Silverlight From time to time you may have a corrupt installation of Microsoft Silverlight. Therefore, the only way to correct this is to uninstall Silverlight and then of course re-install Silverlight. The steps are different depending on if you use a Mac or PC. On Mac: If you are having trouble opening or installing ChiroSpring, sometimes removing and reinstalling Microsoft Silverlight will resolve the problem. To uninstall Silverlight on a Mac, simply follow these instructions:

On your keyboard, press Command + Spacebar and type silverlight.plugin Here you can see I have pressed Command and Spacebar and searched for silverlight.plugin. Next double click on Show all in Finder.

Now that we have revealed the silverlight.plugin in finder we can now drag it to trash. Once you have dragged the plugin to your trash, right click on the trash bin and select Empty Trash. Finally, empty your trash On PC: PC Microsoft Silverlight will not install

If you are having trouble installing Microsoft Silverlight it will prevent you from correctly installing ChiroSpring. In these instances, please follow the instructions below: 1. Open any ChiroSpring applications on your desktop, and once open, right-click and choose REMOVE THIS APPLICATION. 2. Navigate to the following folder on your computer: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Silverlight\OutOfBrowser 3. Delete all files and folders at this location. 4. Return to your ChiroSpring Installer and again attempt to download and install Silverlight and ChiroSpring.
