Introduction In order to send and receive email outside of the webmail portal, you ll need to setup up an email client application on your device(s). We ve included some examples of how to configure a few of the most common email client applications below (outlook, thunderbird, mac mail, ios mail). Please keep in mind that thirdparty software can not be fully supported by Superb Internet. If you have further questions about configuring their software please contact the company directly. Setting Up POP3/IMAP Accounts (In the following examples, we use "exampledomain.com" in place of domain name attached to your email account Incoming Server: mail.superb.net 1 / 10
Outgoing Server: smtp.superb.net (however, we still encourage to use your ISP's SMTP {e.g. smtp.comcast.net, smtp.bellsouth.net, etc.} if you can since it would be a lot quicker as it is closer to you note not all ISP's mail servers will allow a relay) Login: user@exampledomain.com Email address or Return email address: user@exampledomain.com Under Outgoing Mail Server, ensure that the option "My Server requires authentication" is checked(if available) and under settings, ensure that "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is checked(again, if available). Configuration suggestions for common email clients Thunderbird: 1. Open Thunderbird > Right click the mail account > Click Settings > Under that mail account, click Server Settings. 2. Server Settings: User Name: Full Email Address (user@exampledomain.com) 3. In the Account Settings windows, go to Outgoing Server (SMTP), it should be at the bottom of the list of options on the left side > select the Outgoing SMTP Server that is used for your mail account we are modifying > Click edit. 4. SMTP Server: Description: What you d like the description to be. Tap the Done button on the top right and it should bring you back to the previous page > tap the Account button in the top left to go back one more page > on the bottom, there should be an Advanced button, tap/select that. 7. Incoming Settings: Use SSL: Turn this option on (it ll be green) IMAP Path Prefix: Don t modify unless you know where you want all your messages going Server Port: 143 (IMAP) and/or 110 (POP) 8. Select the Outgoing Mail Server Account drop down > Select Edit SMTP Server List > Click the Plus button to add a new SMTP server(you can delete or modify the old one if you d like to avoid confusion of multiple SMTP Servers) 5. New/Modify Existing SMTP Server: Username: Full Email Address (user@exampledomain.com) 6. Click OK to save and get out of the SMTP Server List 7. Close the Accounts Window 8. You should be all done. Give it a test by sending an email and receiving an email from an outside email provider (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.). Double check email client documentation, but most do not allow for switching between the two without deleting and readding/recreating to mail client.
