What is a Webfusion Reseller account? The Webfusion Reseller account offers you the chance to make money by reselling web space at a profit. Lots of people need websites. But what they don't need is the hassle of choosing a web host. Hence most people nearly always follow a recommendation from a friend or colleague when picking their web hosting provider. There s a good chance that if you ve chosen Webfusion you have some knowledge and understanding about webhosting. That also means there is a good chance you may have been asked by friends and family of a recommendation for a hosting provider. The Webfusion Reseller account offers you the opportunity to recommend yourself, as you can become a hosting provider yourself. We give you all the tools to help those friends and family get their web presence up and running but also give you the opportunity to market yourself as a dependable and costeffective web hosting brand. We'll back you up all the way, but no one will ever know we're behind you (your secret is safe with us!). Your hosting company will be based upon the very same infrastructure as our own. And, as we're one of the UK's leading web hosts, your clients will be treated to outstanding delivery and performance at all times. You can be hosting multiple sites, under your own brand, using different domain names and offering a full range of administration tools for you and your customers. Your customers need never know that you are part of our Reseller programme. You deal directly with your customers, offering them support as you see fit and billing them as you wish. Via your Webfusion Reseller account we offer you all the tools you need to run your own web-hosting business. Please Note: Adding certain services to your Reseller account will incur additional charges. Details of any of these charges will be stated within the Control Panel before you commit to adding them to your account. www.webfusion.co.uk Page 3

What sort of accounts can be created within my Reseller account? When creating accounts within your Reseller panel you can choose from one of four hosting options. Unix Simple Virtual Server A Unix platform provides a robust and stable hosting platform ideal for the majority of websites. Our Unix Simple Virtual Server option includes Apache Web Server, PHP support, pop3 mailboxes and webmail. These accounts will be created as a sub-domain of your main reseller domain. Unix Advanced Virtual Server A Unix virtual server provides a robust and stable hosting platform ideal for the vast majority of web sites. Our Unix Advanced Virtual Server includes all of the benefits of our Unix Simple option plus one MySQL Database accessed via the control panel, FTP access, DNS management, website statistics and multiple domain mapping. Windows Simple Virtual Server Suitable for customers needing access to Windows technologies. Offers IIS web server, ASP support, pop3 mailboxes and webmail. These accounts will be created as a sub-domain of your main reseller domain. Windows Advanced Virtual Server Our Windows Advanced Virtual Server includes all of the benefits of our Windows Simple option plus MSSQL database (with remote connection), FTP access, DNS Management, multiple domain mapping and website statistics. It is recommended that you only choose this option if you need Windows features. Please Note: In the case of Windows accounts web hosting and email services are hosted on different servers. You can choose from a number of templates that you feel best reflect your brand. 1 Login to the Webfusion Reseller control panel. 2 Click on the Control Panel link. 3 Select the design. www.webfusion.co.uk Page 22

4 Fill in the details to display on the control panel and click on the Modify Control Panel button. You can have more control by choosing the Custom Control Panel option and typing or pasting HTML in the adjacent text box. See the article: How do I customise the Webfusion Reseller Control Panel interface for more detailed guidance. www.webfusion.co.uk Page 23

How do I customise the Webfusion Reseller control panel interface? If you wish your Webfusion Reseller control panel to have a more unique or branded look, you can create a customised version using HTML code. Please Note: This function is intended only for experts in HTML and CSS. Webfusion does not offer additional support for those customising their control panel. This includes resetting your Control Panel to it s former status. 1 Login to the Webfusion Reseller control panel. 2 Click on the Control Panel link. 3 Select the Custom Control Panel option. 4 Using a series of special tags in a regular HTML page you can customise all aspects of your control panel interface. You will need some knowledge of HTML and CSS programming in order to create a control panel template. CSS Styles The formatting of text and tables in your individual control panels can be controlled using standard CSS styles in the header of your HTML page. In addition to the normal HTML styles, the control panel uses the following styles. Style.table_top.table.sub_title.message.a.b.a.nav Description Table column/row headings, on this table 'Description' Table body, this row Section sub headings, on this page 'CSS Styles' Error messages Hyperlinks in tables Hyperlinks in navigation bars www.webfusion.co.uk Page 24

You should define a specification for each of these styles in the header of your document. For example, to display error messages in the colour red and weight bold you would put the following code into the header of your template. <style type="text/css"> </style> Tags The placement of content within your individual control panel template is controlled using special control panel tags, much similar to ASP tags. An example of a control panel tag is shown below. <%content%> The above tag would be replaced with the main page content by the control panel server when it parses your template. The tags used by the control panel are listed below complete with a description of what they are replaced with when a template is parsed. Tag Description <%content%> Main content of the page <%page_title%> Title of the page <%section%> Section title of the page <%navigation%> Navigation menu for the current section <%account%> URL to the 'Account' section <%web%> URL to the 'Web' section <%email%> URL to the 'Email' section <%logs%> URL to the 'Logs' section <%help%> URL to the 'Help' section <%logout%> URL to the 'Logout' section A tag can be used in any part of your template and will be replaced with the appropriate content when your template is parsed. Images You can use images in your HTML template. Note however that you will need to upload them to your main site and reference them with a global URL in your template. Uploading & Testing You can upload your completed template file to the control panel server at the Custom Control Panel page. Simply log into one of your individual control panels to test your template. 5 Fill in the details to display on the control panel and click on the Modify Control Panel button. Your reseller control panel will now be updated in your customised format. www.webfusion.co.uk Page 25
