1. Filter Installation Do not connect your modem yet. It is important to count all sockets (Figure 1) on the telephone line you have subscribed for the Internet connection. Figure 1 If you have three or less sockets then you need to install a distributed filter (Figure 2) on each of the telephone sockets having a set plugged in. Figure 2 Generally each Internet service is provided with one distributed filter unless you have bought additional filters when subscribing for the service. If you have more socket outlets than filters, do not install your Internet service! Please buy more filters for the rest of the sockets. It is important that you disconnect any telephone sets from sockets that do not have a filter installed. If you fail to comply with this requirement you will experience an unreliable Internet service. 4

Disconnect any telephone sets or other equipment (such as fax machines) that you have on all telephone sockets. Insert the distributed filter in each telephone socket on your telephone line having a set plugged in to it. Reconnect the telephone sets and any other equipment through the distributed filter in the socket labelled PHONE (Figure 2 and 3). DSL Telephone Line Telephone socket PHONE DSL PHONE DSL PHONE DSL RJ-11 wire Distributed filter To RJ-11 socket (grey) Telephone set FAX machine Telephone set DSL Modem (if any) Figure 3 After completing the above steps, the end result of your setup should resemble Figure 3 above. If you have four or more sockets then you need to contact GO Customer Care on freephone 8007 21 21 to set up an appointment for a Centralised Filter installation. 5
