National Platform for DRR National forum for DRR is being established There are 35 organizations involved, composed of : Government agencies, UN DM team, Universities, INGO s and NGO s. This forum is initiated by : National Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), National Coordinating Board for Disaster Management (BAKORNAS PB) UNDP Implementation of HFA # 1 Ensure DRR as national and local priority Disaster mitigation and management was stipulated as a priority in the development plan and annual plan 2007 and 2008. Government allocate budget for DRR in fiscal year 2007 and 2008 Strategic National Action Plan of DRR has been launched Set up National Platform of DRR New Disaster Management Bill has been enacted on April 26, 2007. Local government start to Strong political will to support DRR Community participation (through CBDRM) 2
Implementation HFA # 2 Monitor risks and warning systems Support local government to do risk assessment & risk mapping for all disaster prone districts. Formulation of Risk Mapping guidelines Set-up National Early Warning Systems (Grand Scenario Ina-TWS) Incorporate warning system in National Emergency Operation Center Capacity building for research in disaster risk monitoring and warning systems Dissemination of risk knowledge and warning systems to the community level. Current situation DM Law (No. 24/2007) has been enacted 26 April 2006 and will be followed by formulation of Govt. Reg. and Pres. Reg. New DM system will be formulated (legislation, institution and DMplan) Strategic National Action Plan for DRR has been launched and will be followed by creation of Local Action Plan for DRR Implementing DRR in all sectors and community levels. Summary Following the HFA, since 2006 Indonesia had started creating the National Action Plan for DRR and will be promoted to the local level. Strong political commitment of the government and the parliament to strengthen national capacity on DRR. DRR Framework has been adopted into Disaster Management Law and also in the National Development Plan. Dissemination of DRR framework and implementation HFA would be continued to the local level.
