Data sheet HPE Network Transformation Experience Workshop Service HPE Network and Mobility Consulting Led by experienced HPE technology consultants, HPE Network Transformation Experience Workshop Service provides a highly interactive, meaningful day-long session (8 hours) with a customer's IT, business, and executive stakeholders. Using a series of high-quality (slide-free) discussion panels, HPE will facilitate an exploration of a network transformation journey to business-aligned connectivity, aligning your specific situation and HPE s experiences. The HPE technology consultant will also lead discussions on the potential implications that network technologies such as software-defined networking (SDN), IPv6, and security may present to IT, your network staff, and your business. Technology consultants stimulate interactive discussions and help to both draw out and broaden your perspective on emerging technologies. They will share HPE s knowledge and experience, relevant use cases, and customer examples to invoke a new and different vision of business-aligned connectivity while facilitating an open discussion about your unique network transformation goals. Using a stepped approach, HPE technology consultants help to invoke thought, discover what-if scenarios, as well as help you to make the connections and identify the interdependencies between IT and your business. There can be significant value in simply getting your entire IT ecosystem in one room to share viewpoints on the role of the network and the journey to business-aligned connectivity. This value can be further enhanced by combining it with HPE s own experiences and the structured methodology of a facilitated exploration and conversation. The workshop is designed to help you explore and understand how IT can add value to your business by delivering services that increase efficiency and effectiveness, for both internal and external customers, helping to enable innovation and differentiated business models. High-level roadmap A business-aligned connectivity roadmap is the intended outcome of the Network Transformation Experience Workshop. This outcome is the basis for, and provides support for, the discussion generated through each of the content panels and their respective paradigms. Based upon the workshop outputs, this information will be progressively and orderly collected, summarized, and finally prioritized, creating a shared deliverable that is unique to your organization and can include a high-level network connectivity transformation program roadmap that can be used to take next steps. Methodology The workshop is based on HPE Transformation Experience Workshop methodology, which has been delivered with success by HPE consultants for years in a variety of domains like the data center, the cloud, and unified communications and collaboration. An HPE technology consultant will initiate the introduction of the service to the Customer sponsor and work with that sponsor (either in person or remotely, based on mutual agreement between HPE and the Customer sponsor) to identify the required workshop stakeholders and provide any relevant background information that may be useful during the workshop preparation. The HPE technology consultant will also work with the Customer sponsor to define service delivery logistics (e.g., date, location, and scheduling). The workshop preparation is performed (at minimum) three weeks in advance of the workshop and will consist of a two-hour preparation meeting with the sponsor (either in person or remotely, based on mutual agreement between HPE and the Customer sponsor) to reach an agreement on the emphasis and key targets for the workshop. The network connectivity transformation emphasis will focus on general network transformation topics and can be augmented with a focus on one of three emerging technology focus areas (SDN, IPv6, or security). HPE will familiarize itself with the Customer-provided background information on key business drivers, IT/business issues, current initiatives, and so on. An HPE technology consultant will facilitate a full-day (8 hours) Network Transformation Experience Workshop, which consists of a guided discussion that focuses on defining a network transformation from the Customer s perspective and then exploring and analyzing that transformation from the perspectives of a Network Enabled Business, the Connectivity Landscape, Elastic Network Supply, and Managing Elastic Supply. Further, the workshop can include an optional focus in one of three network technologies: SDN IPv6 Security HPE will also reference its years of networking experience to help identify areas of opportunity and areas for consideration throughout the guided discussion.
Data sheet Page 3 The Network Transformation Experience Workshop culminates with an interactive roadmap building session based upon the output gathered directly from the Customer throughout the day to identify the key components in the Customer s network transformation journey, including long-term goals, major transformational steps, constraints, as well as short-term opportunities (i.e., quick wins) designed to sustain and boost the transformation initiative. Data consolidation and analysis Summary report and recommendations Key facts and requirements HPE technology consultants will consolidate the output and perform a detailed review of collected information (notes, flip charts, a roadmap board etc.). The results will be used to create the final summary documents, which will include practical suggestions based on HPE's experience, technologies, and capabilities. The final summary document will be presented to the Customer within 10 days of the workshop. The HPE technology consultant will provide a summary PowerPoint report of the results, consisting of: A summary of the discussions A roadmap with key strategic initiatives Conclusions A high-level desired state and an implementation roadmap HPE's recommendations for the next steps After the workshop is completed, HPE consultants will present the executive summary to the Customer s key stakeholders and workshop participants at the Customer site or remotely using HPE Virtual Rooms if mutually agreed to by HPE and the Customer, answering questions and identifying next steps with the Customer. The workshop is designed for an ideal audience of 8 to 10 participants. All participants should be decision makers, have key information, or be strategic influencers. The individual participants should represent a cross-section of the stakeholders within the Customer's organization and should include the network, security, operations, and other IT disciplines. The workshop is also designed to include lines of business constituents, depending on the Customer s specific situation. The Customer is responsible for scheduling the workshop and ensuring that key participants attend the workshop session, unless otherwise agreed by the parties.
