1 Steps for Taking the Dengue Clinical Case Management Course Step 1: Go to CDC Train and search for the Dengue Clinical Case Management Course, or select this link: http://cdc.train.org/desktopmodules/elearning/coursedetails/coursedetailsform.aspx?courseid=1047604 Step 2: Select the Registration tab. If you are a new user click on Create Account. If you already have a TRAIN account, select Login, and enter your Login Name and Password to continue.
2 If you selected Create Account, complete steps 3 10. If you already have an account and selected Login, skip to step 11. Step 3: Fill in all the fields to create an account with CDC TRAIN. Step 4: Click the Select Groups button for the CDC Train portal and click Next. Step 5: Select up to three (3) Professional Roles that best match your profession and select specialization where available and click Next.
3 Step 6: Select up to three (3) Work Settings that best fit your work environment. Choose Subcategories where applicable and click Next. Enter demographic information (it s optional). Click Next. Step 7: Answer how did you hear about CDC Train (you might not be asked this question). Click Next. Step 8: Select if you have a professional license number and provide the number. Click Next.
4 Step 9: Choose the selection that represents your professional role and/or work setting (you are asked this only if you selected more than one professional role or work setting). Once you click Continue you have created a new account on CDC TRAIN. Step 10: You will receive a confirmation that your account has been created. Click Continue to return to the course registration page. Step 11: Select the Registration tab. Select type of CE and answer the required question. Then click on the Register button.
5 Step 12: Click on the Assessment button to take the dengue pre-assessment. If you need information about how to obtain the CME certificate download the attachment How to Obtain Continuing Education. This give you directions to complete the requirements for your CEU or CME certificate in TCEOnline. Step 13: Click on Start Assessment button. Complete the 17 questions of the Dengue Pre-assessment. When finished click the Close button. Step 14: A standard message will appear. Please click on the here link to return to course details page.
6 Step 15: Select the Registration tab and then the Launch button. Once you launch the course from TRAIN, Please select the Start Course button on the DCCM home page. When you have completed the course, select the Exit link at the top right of the page. Please note that this course does not bookmark your last page visited. If you need to leave the course, make a note of where you are in the course. When you return you can use the Table of Contents link to return to the module you last visited.
Step 16: Once you complete the course, TRAIN should still be open on your computer. Click the Home button in the top row of links on TRAIN. 7 Step 17: On your dashboard, select My Learning and select the Current Courses button. Step 18: Select the M button to the right of the Dengue Course name.
8 Step 19: Select the Completed button on the course management page. Step 20: A message should appear indicating you have an assessment pending before the course can complete. If this message does not appear, go back to the Home page, select My Action Items, and the assessment will be located there. Click the Assessment button. Step 21: The Dengue Post assessment will open. Select the Start Assessment button to start the posttest. Once the assessment ( Dengue Posttest ) is completed, the course will move to transcript and if you did not select CE for the course, a general TRAIN completion certificate will be located on your Dashboard in My Certificates. If you have requested CME or CEU, you need to follow the instructions for obtaining Continuing Education below.
9 How to Obtain Continuing Education To obtain Continuing Education (CE) for this course, you must complete the requirements at the Training and Continuing Education Online website (TCE Online). Once you have selected the course, you will need to take the evaluation and posttest for this course. After successful completion of the evaluation and posttest, you will receive CE and can then print your certificate and transcript. Step 1: Go to http://www.cdc.gov/tceonline. Select Participant Login to login. If you are new to TCEO, select New Participant to create a user ID and password. If you have created an account previously but have forgotten your password, click on the Forgot your password? link.
10 Step 2: If you are creating an account in TCEOnline for the first time, please fill the information required to create a participant profile and click Submit. If you already have an account, skip to step 3. Create your Login Name and click on Submit. It is okay to use the same Login name and Password you used in TRAIN. You will receive a temporary password in your email. You will need to use this password on step 2.
11 Enter your login name and your temporary password and click Submit. Now create a permanent password. Select Submit. Select the Click Here link to return to Participant Services and search for your course.
12 Step 3: Once logged on to TCEOnline, the Participant Services page will display. Select the Search & Register link. Step 4: Select the Keyword Search option, enter the course number: WB1957 or Dengue in the box and select View. Step 5: Click on the course name, and the course information page will display.
Step 6: Scroll down to Register Here. Select the type of CE that you would like to receive and then select Submit. If you are a physician that needs the 4 CME select the first option. 13 Step 7: The next page requests demographic information. New participants are required to answer the demographic questions. Returning participants please verify this information and select Submit.
Step 8: A message will display thanking you for registering for the course. If you have already completed the course you may select the option to take the evaluation. 14 If you have not completed the course, you will be directed back to Participant Services. Under Evaluation and Tests you will find the course information, evaluation and posttest after completing the course. The evaluation will automatically launch. Complete the evaluation and Submit. Step 9: A message will display thanking you for completing the evaluation. Then, a 4 question posttest will follow the evaluation. You must get 3 out of the 4 questions in order to pass.
15 Step 10: A record of your course completion and your CE certificate will be posted in the Transcript and Certificate section, located on the Participant Services page. Step 11: Click on Certificate to print your CE certificate.
