In order to access the IBM Early Programs Cloud, a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection is required to connect through the IBM network to the specific Cloud environment. This is performed using the provided Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client software. Here are Steps: 1. Download the provided Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client software (anyconnect-predeploy-linux-64-3.1.02040- k9.tar.gz) to your computer. 2. Open a terminal window and become the root user by typing su and entering the root password. 3. Change to the directory where the anyconnect-predeploy-linux-64-3.1.02040-k9.tar.gzfile was downloaded using cd [directory where file was downloaded] 4. Decompress the file using gzip d anyconnect-predeploy-linux-64-3.1.02040-k9.tar.gz June 2, 2014 Version 3 Page 2
5. Untar the file using tar xvf anyconnect-predeploy-linux-64-3.1.02040-k9.tar This creates a new sub-directory named anyconnect-<version>. With this version the directory will be named anyconnect-3.1.02040. 6. Change to the newly created sub-directory by using cd anyconnect-3.1.02040 June 2, 2014 Version 3 Page 3
7. Change to the vpn sub-directory using cd vpn 8. Install the VPN Client by typing the command./vpn_install.sh 9. Accept the License Agreement by typing Y 10. The client will install. June 2, 2014 Version 3 Page 4

Once the installation completes and you have received your Early Program Cloud Login Credentials the client can be launched under Applications->Internet->Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client->Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client 12. Go to the Tab and press the preferences icon that is located after the Connect to: text box. June 2, 2014 Version 3 Page 5
13. Verify the Block connections to untrusted servers box is unchecked. If the box is checked, uncheck the box. Click Close to close the Preferences window. Note: If you would like the Cisco VPN application to not minimize itself to the taskbar once connected uncheck the Minimize AnyConnect on VPN connect June 2, 2014 Version 3 Page 6

In the Connect to: text box enter this text asa003b.centers.ihost.com Note: If your DNS does not recognize asa003b.centers.ihost.com enter the IP of the VPN appliance in the Ready to connect text box 32.97.185.16 When using the IP instead of the hostname you will receive a message stating AnyConnect cannot verify the VPN server: 32.97.185.16. This occurs because the Server Certificate uses the hostname instead of the IP. Click the Connect Anyway button to initiate the connection. June 2, 2014 Version 3 Page 7
15. Click Connect to initiate the connection to the Cisco VPN 16. Once the connection is established, choose the correct Group: a. If you are participating in a Managed Early Program select SWG_EP_Cloud b. If you are participating in a Open Early Program select SWG_Open_EP_Cloud 17. Type in the provided Early Program Cloud Username and Early Program Cloud Password that you received through e-mail. 18. Press OK 19. After the Welcome to SWG EP Cloud message appears, press the Accept button. 20. When you are finished, return to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client and press the Disconnect button.
