Installing and Configuring the One Vision Software Installing and Configuring the One Vision Software Option Description Installing One Vision Software on a PC Installing One Vision Software on a Network

. Installation Options Installing One Vision Software On A PC Introduction The One Vision software is easy to install on a PC once you have verified that all system requirements have been met. The installation procedure needs to be performed only once. System requirements One Vision will run on any PC that supports Windows 000 or better. The program uses at least 50 Megs of disk space. File on the install disk The One Vision installation disk contains the onevisionsetupfull.exe file. Installation procedures Follow the steps in the table below to install One Vision on your computer. Step 5 Action Insert the One Vision installation disk into the CD drive. If the installation does not self start, click the Start menu located on the task bar. Select Run. Results: The "Run" dialog box appears. Type the path to the CD drive and onevisionsetupfull.exe Example: D:\onevisionsetupfull.exe Dialog: "Welcome to the Installshield Wizard for One Vision CMS." 6 Dialog: "Read me information." 7 Dialog: "Customer Information." 8 Dialog: "Destination Folder." The default is normally recommended. This is the folder where the One Vision Client will be installed. Use the Change Button to change the Destination Folder.

Installing and Configuring the One Vision Software 9 0 5 Dialog: "Database Folder." The default is normally recommended. This is the folder where the One Vision Database will be installed. Use the [Change] button to change the Destination Folder. Note: If you are installing a One Vision Client on a Network, you will need to set the Database Folder to the Location of the One Vision Database. Dialog: "Setup Type" The Typical (Main Workstation) setup type is the normal selection for a Single Computer Installation. If you will be installing on a Network, see the instructions for "Installing One Vision Software on a Network". Dialog: "Custom Setup." Dialog: "Ready to Install the Program." Click on [Install]. Dialog: "Installshield Wizard Completed." Click on [Finished]. Start One Vision and use the "Setup Checklist" located in the File menu.

6. Installation Options Installing One Vision Software On a Network Introduction The One Vision software is easy to install on a PC once you have verified that all system requirements have been met. The installation procedure needs to be performed once on each computer that will be using One Vision. System requirements One Vision will run on any PC that supports Windows 000 or better. The program uses at least 50 Megs of disk space. You will need to map a drive letter on the computer to the share location that contains the One Vision Database on your network. File on the install disk The One Vision installation disk contains the onevisionsetupfull.exe file. Network Installation procedures To setup One Vision on a network where multiple computers will be accessing the same One Vision database will require two major steps. Follow the steps in the table below to install One Vision on your network and each One Vision client computer. Step Server Setup One Vision Network Installation Instructions Server Setup: Install the One Vision Database on the computer (server) that shares data with the other computers on the network. Client Setup: Install the One Vision Client software on each computer that will be accessing the One Vision Database. To setup One Vision to run on a network, you must first install One Vision on the computer that will be functioning as the One Vision Database Server. The default server mode for One Vision is file-server mode. This is where the One Vision database is installed into a folder(directory) that allows other computers to access the database via a Network Share. You will need to create or use a share that points to the One Vision Database Directory or points to the Network Drive that contains the One Vision Database Folder. Step One Vision Server Setup You must be on the computer that will be functioning as the Server. You will need the instructions labeled: Installing One Vision Software on A PC

Installing and Configuring the One Vision Software 5 Client Setup The Recommended mode for installing One Vision on a server is to install One Vision Software on a Windows based PC. This mode of operation would install both the Client and Database on the Server Computer. Using the instructions for "Installing One Vision on a PC" begin installing the One Vision Software on the Server Computer. Follow the steps down to Step 9, this is where you set the Database Folder. You can accept the default or change the Database Folder to another location. This folder needs to be accessible to the other computers on the network by a share. After accepting the Database Folder Location, click [Next] and go to Step. This is where we select the Setup Type. The recommended selection is Typical(Main Workstation). This selection installs the One Vision Client and Database onto the computer. Remember, the Database will be installed into the Database Folder selected in the previous step. You can also Select Database Only; however you will not be able to access the One Vision Software on this computer without installing the Client. Select [Next] to continue the installation then go to Step 5. Complete the setup by answering the questions on the One Vision CMS - Installshield Wizard until One Vision is installed on the Server then go to the Client Setup Instructions below. To setup One Vision on each client computer that will be accessing the same One Vision database. Follow the steps in the table below to install One Vision on each computer that will be using One Vision. Step 7 One Vision Client Setup You must be on the computer that will be functioning as the One Vision Client computer. You will need the instructions labeled: Installing One Vision Software on A PC You will need to map a drive letter to the Network Share that has access to the One Vision Database. See Server Setup... Using the instructions for "Installing One Vision on a PC" begin installing the One Vision Software on the Client Computer. Follow the steps down to Step 9; this is where you set the Database Folder. You will need to use the [change...] button to browse to the Database Folder on the Drive mapped to the One Vision

8 Installation Options 5 6 Database. Example: N:\One Vision CMS\Database\. The Database Folder will contain a file named "system.mdb", this is how you will know that you have the correct database folder. Once you have set the Database Location click the [Next] button and go to Step 5. This is where we select the Setup Type. The recommended selection is Workstation Only(Client Install). This selection installs the One Vision Client onto the computer. Select [Next] to continue the installation then go to Step 6. Complete the setup by anwering the questions on the One Vision CMS - Installshield Wizard until One Vision is installed on the Client computer. Repeat these steps for each One Vision Client computer.
