With Docsafe, you always have access to your documents along with a fast overview of them. You can forward documents such as a letter and grant access rights. In future, it will be possible to pay bills directly from Docsafe. Who can use Docsafe? Anyone who lives in Switzerland. If you are already a Swisscom customer, you access it using your existing Swisscom Login. If you have not been a Swisscom customer until now or have not used any fee-based product, you can register for Docsafe at no charge. For registration using the Swisscom Login, you need either a Swisscom fixedline number, a Swiss mobile number or a Swiss postal address. How much does Docsafe cost? The basic Docsafe package is free of charge. Paid premium packages are planned for the future, but the scope of services has not yet been defined.
How can I order Docsafe? If you are already a Swisscom customer, you do not need to order Docsafe; your personal Docsafe has already been set up. To access it, use your existing Swisscom Login. If you have not been a Swisscom customer until now, all you need is a Swisscom Login. You can set this up at no charge at www.swisscom.ch/docsafe. Once there, click on the Login button on the Docsafe start page and follow the instructions. To set up a Swisscom Login, you need either a Swisscom fixed-line number, a Swiss mobile number or a Swiss postal address. What types of files can be stored in Docsafe? Docsafe can store standard document and image formats and display them in its user interface. Among the supported formats are pdf, txt, html, jpg, png, gif and bmp. You can also store all other data formats such as Office documents in Docsafe. For security reasons, however, executable files (e.g. an.exe) cannot be stored. Furthermore, please note that at this time no files can be stored which exceed 20MB in size. How can I add my own documents into my Docsafe? Your own documents can be uploaded using the New Documents function. Clicking on this button opens a dialogue box in which you can select the target folder and labels. Afterwards, either click on the Upload symbol and then select the desired files in the fileselection dialogue box or drag files from your file system directly over to the dialogue box. Additionally, you can digitise (photograph) documents using a smartphone app and upload them to your personal Docsafe. The app features automatic format recognition and various filters to improve the legibility of the documents. Soon it will also be possible to send documents to your own Docsafe via e-mail.
How many documents can I store in Docsafe? At this time there is no limit on the number of documents you can store. Docsafe should be sufficiently large to store all the documents for an average household. Swisscom, however, reserves the right to introduce a limit on the number of documents for individual customers or groups of customers arising from excessive use (Fair Use Policy). How can I share documents and content? For this, two options are available to you: If you would like to pass along an individual document, the best approach is to send it to another Docsafe user by using the Forward function. This has a security advantage compared to forwarding a document via e-mail your document does not leave the Docsafe platform and continues to be protected by encryption. If you would like to share multiple documents with someone else on a regular basis, the best approach is to grant access rights to an area of your Docsafe (a folder or a label). In this way, the other person also has continuous access to any new documents which are added. To find another user in Docsafe, you must know either that person s user name for the Swisscom Login or the e-mail address or mobile number which the user has stored in Docsafe. Can I also access content belonging to another Docsafe user? You can do this only if the other user has granted you access rights (to folders or labels). Then you can switch from your Docsafe into the other user s Docsafe by going to the upper right, click on My Docsafe and then select the other user s Docsafe. How can I pay my bills? Payments using Docsafe will be introduced at the end of 2014.
Can I also use Docsafe on a smartphone or tablet? We offer a Docsafe app for ios and Android smartphones. You can find it in the corresponding store under Docsafe. On tablets, the best approach is to use the browser version of Docsafe. Which system requirements apply for Docsafe? To use Docsafe, you need an Internet connection. To use the browser version of Docsafe, we recommend Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher, or the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome or Safari. To use the ios Docsafe app, you need an iphone with ios 7 or later. How do I receive documents directly in my Docsafe? You can receive documents from either other Docsafe users or from companies. Other users can send you documents using the Forward function. Companies can only send you documents if these companies support Docsafe and you have previously informed a company of your Docsafe address. As a Swisscom customer, where do I receive my Swisscom bill? From which companies can I receive documents directly in my Docsafe? You receive your Swisscom bill from Swisscom directly in the Docsafe in addition to your previous methods of distribution (postal service, e-mail, etc.). This does not change these previous methods of distribution. Swisscom is in discussions with a variety of partners who in future will send documents directly into your Docsafe.
How are my documents protected? Your documents are stored securely at Swisscom data centres in Switzerland using encryption methods. The same guidelines and security standards as those used for banking systems apply. Additionally, each document is also individually encrypted. This ensures that your document remains illegible if an unauthorised person attempts to access it. In addition, the connection between your browser and the Docsafe system is also encrypted. Depending on the browser, you can see this is the case with the padlock symbol in the www address bar. How can I encrypt my data and who can view my data? Your data is automatically encrypted; you do not have to do anything. Outside persons are able to view your data only if you have granted them appropriate access rights yourself or if a corresponding order from the authorities has been issued. How secure is the Swisscom Login? The level of security for the Swisscom Login depends on the password you have defined. You can increase security by activating the Login with an SMS code. You can find this option in the Settings. When you activate the SMS code, during each login, after you have entered the Swisscom Login password, an SMS code is additionally sent to your mobile number. What is manual key management? In the case of manual key management, you alone know the security key which allows documents to be decrypted. However, if you forget your personal key, then you can no longer access your documents. In this case, there is no recovery process. Swisscom assumes no liability. What is the advantage of automatic key management? Swisscom manages your personal key in a separately secured environment so that you do not have to enter it each time. You enjoy the best possible security without limiting convenience in any way.
How long are my documents stored? Your documents remain stored until you give the order for their deletion. This function can be found in a document s detailed view. Is it possible to delete my Docsafe later on? You can have your personal Docsafe deleted upon request. Where do I get technical support in case of questions and problems?
