SECTION: DISPLAYING MOST RECENT DATA DASHBOARDS Dashboards are an easy way to see lots of Salesforce data all in one place. They show charts, graphs, and other visualizations of reports that already exist in the system, and you can click a component of a Dashboard to see the underlying report and data. DISPLAYING THE MOST RECENT DATA Objectives of the Business Process Refreshing the Dashboard allows you to make sure you are seeing the most recent data in your visualizations. Tasks Performed 1. Check how recently the data was refreshed. 2. Refresh the Dashboard, if needed. Summary of Recommendations If you are unsure of when the last time a Dashboard was refreshed, it will give you that time to the right of the Refresh button. Note that some Dashboards are set to refresh on a specific schedule typically early every morning. Some Dashboards (specifically dynamic Dashboards), though, do not support this functionality. Refresh the Dashboard if you want it to show more recent data than it is currently showing. Step-by-Step Instructions 1. Check the last time the Dashboard was refreshed displayed next to the Refresh button. 2. If the Dashboard was not refreshed recently enough for your needs, click the Refresh button. Task Performed Click on Find a Dashboard. Summary of Recommendations If you want to run another Dashboard without having to go back into the Reports tab and then look through the Dashboard folders, click on Find a dashboard. It will provide a dropdown menu with other Dashboards from which to choose. Summary of Recommendations The Filter By functionality lets you select from a limited number of filter options as predetermined by the creator of the Dashboard. Note, though, that it will only display the top row of Dashboard components. Tasks Performed 1. Go to My Settings. 2. Click on Display and Layout. 3. Click Customize My Pages. 4. Click Customize My Pages. 5. Make sure Home is selected and click Customize Page. 6. Select which Dashboard you would like to see displayed on your home page. Whichever Dashboard you choose will show its top row on the home page. From there you can click on any of the three Reports on the home page to navigate to the full Dashboard.
