Introduction: With this tool, it is possible to: Set the SX100 as a Network Time Server in a Blue ID network. Page 3
System and Network Requirements: Windows OS 7 or higher Minimum Framework 4.0 Minimum screen resolution 1280 x 768 The Framework version on the PC can be checked by; go to the installed programs in control panel. When Microsoft.Net Framework Version 4.0 is not installed, it can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/download/details.aspx?id=17851 Microsoft.Net Framework version 4.5: http://www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/download/details.aspx?id=30653 Network: Port 123 (UDP) must be open in all switches or/and routers for synchronize the time. Installed on a SX100: When this application is installed on a SX100 a Registry Key most be adjusted for a proper operation of this application. This is performed automatically during startup of the application. This can be seen in the following information balloon at the bottom right of the screen. Therefore, it is necessary the application is restarted. The closing of the application is automatic and must then be manually restarted by double-clicking the shortcut. Page 5

Set External NTP Server (Internet): Choose an Internet time Server. In this documentation, we use pool.ntp.org. Click on the right below on the windows time and click on Change date and time settings. The next display appears. Click on the Internet Time tab and click the button Change settings. The next display appears. Type in the dropdown box the NTP Server you prefer. In our example is the Internet NTP Server pool.ntp.org. Click on the button Update now, within a couple of seconds the SX100 clock is synchronized successfully. Page 7
When there is no Internet connection or port 123 is closed in the router the following message appears. Page 8
Set SX100 as NTP Server: Click the button Set SX100 as NTP Server. When the process is done, there is a OK on the left bottom of the application. Page 9
TCEngineer settings: Note: the external Time Server option is available from version 8.5.8.8 and higher. Open tab Communicate and choose External Time Server and enter the IP address (local network) of the SX100 and commission all the controllers in the project. Now every controller (NTP client) in the local network synchronized with the SX100 (NTP Server). Page 10
