1.Intended use The appliance functins as a prtable media player. The screen f the appliance can be flded up and dwn as well as rtated. This appliance lets yu pen music files (MP3/WMA), vide files (MPEG-4) and pht files (JPEG). These files can be accessed via DVD, CD and USB. The appliance cntains a built-in rechargeable battery. Read the manual carefully befre the first use.

3.Preparatins fr use 3.1. Unpacking Unpack the appliance carefully. Check the package cntents as described belw. If any item is missing, please cntact yur reseller. We recmmend that yu retain the riginal cartn and packing materials in case it ever becmes necessary t return yur prduct fr service. This is the nly way t safely prtect the prduct against damage in transit. If yu d dispse f the cartn and the packing materials, please remember t recycle with due care t the envirnment. 3.2. 6.Operatin 6.1. Turning the device n and ff. Set the switch in the ON psitin t turn the equipment n. Set the switch in the OFF psitin t switch ff the device. 6.2. General setup menu peratin This chapter explains a cmplete setup f the appliance: settings f screen display, audi setup and vide setup.

The fllwing actins have t be carried ut with the remte cntrl. Press the SETUP buttn (9). Press the arrw buttns (left and right) (8) t select a menu. The submenu is displayed directly. Press the arrw buttns (up and dwn) (8) t scrll thrugh the submenu. Press the ENTER buttn (7) t select a setting, r the left arrw buttn t cancel the selectin. Press the SETUP (9) buttn t stre the settings and exit. SYSTEM SETUP The ptins TV SYSTEM and TV TYPE are nly applicable if the APD 707 is cnnected t an external screen TV SYSTEM Select the vide utput frmat t match the appliance t the TV system: PAL, AUTO r NTSC. Please nte: if the wrng ptin has been selected, this may result in very pr image quality. In that case, select a different setting. POWER RESUME When restarting the player, select ON fr the DVD t resume frm the last place it was stpped. TV TYPE In the TV TYPE sectin, press the arrw buttns (8) t select 4:3 4:3 PANSCAN r 4:3 LETTERBOX fr a cnventinal TV set. Select 16:9 fr a wide screen TV set. PASSWORD Change the default passwrd. Enter the current passwrd in the first bx. Enter the new passwrd in the secnd bx. Enter the new passwrd again in the third bx t cnfirm. The default passwrd (0000) is always active. Even if the passwrd has been reset.

RATING Set a rating fr mvies played by the appliance. Mvies rated higher than the level set fr the parental lck can nt be viewed. DEFAULT Restre the default settings f the appliance. LANGUAGE SETUP In the OSD LANG sectin, press the arrw buttns t chse the language. In the AUDIO LANG sectin, chse the audi language. In the SUBTITLE LANG sectin, chse the subtitle language. Select the menu language in part MENU LANG. STANDY SETTING Set STANDY SETTING after hw many hurs f inactivity yur APD707 is autmatically placed n standby mde Chse frm 3 hurs, 4 hurs r never (OFF) VIDEO SETUP BRIGHTNESS: Adjust the screen brightness. CONTRAST: Adjust the cntrast f the image. HUE: Adjust the clur intensity. SATURATION: Adjust the saturatin f the image. SHARPNESS: Adjust the screen sharpness.

6.3. DVD/CD functins Cntrl After the disc has been laded, a cntent menu will display n the screen. Press the arrw buttns (8) t select a menu item. Press the ENTER buttn (7) t enter the selected menu item. Press the RETURN buttn (21) t return t the upper page. During playback, the fllwing functins are available: T select a chapter (DVD) r track (CD), press the digit buttns (3). In rder t select a track 10 r greater, first press the 10+ buttn. Fr example; select track 12, first press 10+, and then press number 2 buttn. T pause playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE buttn (20) nce; t resume playback, press the buttn again. T stp playback temprarily, press the STOP buttn (19) nce. Press the buttn again t stp playback permanently, r press the PLAY/PAUSE buttn (20) t resume playback. T select the next r previus chapter (DVD) r track (CD), press the PREV buttn (23) r the NEXT buttn (23). T frward r rewind the DVD, press the FWD buttn (24) r the REV buttn (24). The available speed rates are: 2x, 4x, 8x, 20x. T adjust the vlume, press the VOL + buttn r the VOL - buttn (22).

T mute r restre sund, press the MUTE buttn (14). SUBTITLE (5): select the subtitles fr the VIDEO file that is playing (if available) DVD: T select the audi language f a DVD, press the AUDIO buttn (17) repeatedly until the desired language is set. CD VCD: Select the desired sund with this view (STEREO, LEFT, RIGHT) T select the camera angle, press the ANGLE buttn (4). T play the DVD frame by frame, press the STEP buttn (16). Press the PLAY/PAUSE buttn (20) t resume nrmal playback. T repeat a chapter (DVD) r ne r all tracks (CD): Press the REPEAT buttn (11) nce t repeat the current chapter r track. Press the buttn twice t repeat all chapters r tracks. The AB (10) functin can be used t repeat a specific sectin f a DVD. Press the AB (10) nce t select the starting pint (A). Press the AB (10) buttn again t select the ending pint (B). The appliance plays the sectin repeatedly. Navigatin Press the MENU buttn (18) t return t the cntent menu during playback. T view a specific title f a DVD, press the TITLE buttn (6). Use the arrw buttns t select the title. Use the SEARCH buttn (1) t g t a time pint, title r chapter f chice in DVD Mde. Use the SOURCE buttn (15) t switch between DVD r USB input. Using the PROGRAM functin With the PROGRAM (12) functin favurite tracks frm the disks can be stred. Press the PROGRAM buttn (12) t enter the PROGRAM functin. Press the digit buttns (8) t select a desired track, and use the arrw buttn dwn t highlight the next entry. Press the PROGRAM (12) buttn and select CLEAR in the menu t resume playback. T view JPEG images yu can press the PROGRAM buttn (12) repeatedly t g t slide shw mde. Using the ZOOM functin This functin can be used fr zming in and ut n phts and DVDs. The available zm ratis are: 2x, 3x, 4x, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4. Press the ZOOM buttn (1). Press the ZOOM (1) buttn again t set the crrect size. Press the arrw buttns (8) t mve thrugh the picture.

Please nte: DVDs and DVD appliances are manufactured under the wrldwide agreed DVD reginal cde system that the appliance will perate nly with crrespnding disc f the same reginal cde. If the cde number n the label f a DVD des nt match that n the label alngside, the DVD will nt play n this appliance. If a disc cntains mixed cntent (e.g. MP3 and vide files), the appliance will nly recgnise, list and play ne cntent type. Nrmally, if an MP3 disc is laded, the unit will take lnger time t read the initial data. 6.4. USB functins Insert the USB device in the slt. The device can nly be cnnected ne way. After the device has been cnnected, a cntent menu will display n the screen. Press the arrw buttn (8) (up and dwn) t select a flder r a file. Press the ENTER buttn (7) t enter the selected flder r file. Yu can als use the digit buttns (3) t select a flder r t play the file. Press the MENU buttn (18) t return t the cntent menu during playback.

During playback, the fllwing functins are available: T select a track, press the PREV buttn (23) r the NEXT buttn (8) until the desired track is set. T pause playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE buttn (20) nce; t resume playback, press the buttn again. T stp playback, press the STOP buttn (19). T adjust the vlume, press the VOL + buttn r the VOL - buttn (22). T remve the device, gently pull it ut f the slt. Due t the great variety f prducts with USB prts and their smetimes quite manufacturerspecific functins we can neither guarantee that all devices will be recgnised, nr that all perating ptins that are pssible in thery will actually wrk.

7.Cleaning and maintenance WARNING Befre perfrming any cleaning r maintenance, switch ff and unplug the appliance. Clean the utside f the appliance with a sft clth. When the appliance is very dirty, dampen the clth slightly with water and a neutral slutin. 7.1. Handle and care f a disc Hld the disc with fingers. Hld the disc uter edge and/r the centre spindle hle. D nt tuch the disc surface. D nt bend r press the disc. D nt expse the disc t direct sunlight r heating surces. Clean the disc surface with a sft, dry cleaning clth. Wipe the disc surface gently, radially, frm centre twards the uter edge. D nt apply thinner, alchl, chemical slvent, r sprays when cleaning. Such cleaning fluids will permanently damage the disc surface.
