Global M2M Challenges for Manufacturers of Connected Products Destined for Global Distribution
Today s Global M2M Logistics Multiple SIM SKUs (Stock Keeping Unit) to be maintained dependant on region For embedded SIMs; the end destination must be known at point of manufacture Manufacturing company must negotiate and maintain multicarrier contracts to cover ach geography Roaming costs potentially prohibitive???? Consolidated billing is not available
Lifetime Management Anxiety Fear of lock In with embedded SIMs, manufacturers currently face the prospect of lock-in to one carrier per product. Alternatively, possibility of several carriers across a range of products Field management - issues related to geographical cover configure once during manufacturing, ship, don t touch again does not work globally if only one carrier is selected Contract management Maintaining contracts with several network operators across the globe is labour intensive and logistically problematic Carrier Migration - to 3G/4G xg over the 20-year lifetime of my product. Challenges Manufacturing operations don t know a product s end destination. IMSIs are embedded in the SIM cards today and as such a standard SIM will have a fixed and restricted number of MNOs available from the day it is manufactured. This however poses challenges for the global manufacturing operations needing to embed SIMs in products without knowing final destination. Data roaming tariffs are still high. It would be prohibitively costly to make a choice of just one mobile network operator to include in all manufacturing operations producing global products. Once set, new IMSIs (networks) cannot be reconfigured on a standard SIM. When a standard SIM leaves its manufacturing factory it has the IMSI programmed into them which cannot be changed. Choosing a Network Operator and embedding a SIM locks a product to a same network forever. No ubiquitous global network coverage with one home network. If no agreement exists between the home and the new MNOs, a SIM roaming from Network A (home) to Network B (New) will not be able to authenticate and use the network and as such the device will lose GSM connectivity.
The Gap Today s Supply Multiple tied-in SIMs for Global Deployment Multiple SIMs or Roaming SIM tied to specific operator Customer Needs One Global SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) Single SIM one single global SKU introducing lower cost and easy logistics No Network reconfiguration OTA excludes routing options Network Steering OTA steering/analysis to avoid site visits Mobile Operator Determined Routing Roaming routing MNO not service quality driven Long Term View Lifetime management of devices Lifetime Management Anxiety around lifetime management of SIM Removal of Geographic boundaries Geography not relevant with multi-imsi Geographic Structure There is no offering of in country routing diversity Extended coverage Maximum network coverage to maintain service and achieve SLA s
enterprisem2m+ Proposition A World First!
enterprisem2m+ Proposition The World s first single physical M2M grade multi-imsi SIM can be installed in any M2M device at the point of manufacture, final country of deployment immaterial SIM has several IMSI slots and upon activation, Eseye or an MNO can configure the SIM OTA with local IMSIs to provide cellular connectivity within the country of deployment.

Satisfying Global Market Needs Customer Benefits
Generic Benefits of enterprisem2m+ Removes Supply Chain Complexity. A single SIM SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for global deployment supports manufacturing efficiency and removes supply chain complexity. Lower Deployment Cost. Guaranteed locally acting connectivity introduces cost benefits with local data tariffs. Less Field Site Visits. Supports activation and later reconfiguration without the host devices needing to be restarted guaranteeing lifetime opportunities for OTA reconfiguration without field site visits. Simplified Operations. Provides single interfaces for connectivity SLAs, billings and support as customers will be able to take services from one single MNOs or Service Providers who are able to extend their footprint beyond existing roaming agreements
Addressing the Customer Needs Business Agility - 1 single SIM SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for global use - Short time to market/rapid deployment No Carrier Lock-in - Over-the-air network re-configuration regardless of location - Redirect if network congestion/outage - Lifetime ability to reprogram network settings Lower Cost of Ownership - Lower data costs with a continuously local mobile network SIM profile
