1.0 INTRODUCTION DOCU-PROOF ENTERPRISE is a full-featured text comparison application that allows for comparison of different file types (PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, XML, HTML, RTF, and TXT formats). It highlights all missing, added, modified, or moved text between the Original and Revision documents, and also checks for font differences in both documents. SYNERGY allows for centralized user management as well as domain authentication. It enables users to use their domain login information to access the Docu-Proof Enterprise software from any Docu-Proof Enterprise client installed at the customer site. Synergy Server runs as a service in the backend and the Synergy Client is the GUI interface to access the Synergy Server. This document will cover the installation procedures require to install and configure the Global Vision Unified Installer, which includes Docu-Proof Enterprise, Synergy Client and Synergy Server. The following topics will be covered in this document: Hardware and Software Minimum Requirements System Architecture Prerequisites Installation and Uninstall Procedures Activating the Docu-Proof Enterprise Application Page 4 of 49 Published 06 Mar. 2012

3.0 SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE Docu-Proof Enterprise employs a client-server architecture that consists of a remote server (Synergy Server) to which a combination of multiple clients can connect. The Synergy Server (Global Vision Synergy Server Service) is installed as a Windows Service on a Windows platform. The server will start automatically when Windows is booted. 3.1 SCHEMA The system supports two schemas: 1. Domain: The Synergy Server is installed on a central location (server). The Docu-Proof Enterprise application and the Synergy Client are installed on different workstations and access the server. 2. Local (Standalone): The Synergy Server, Synergy Client and Docu-Proof Enterprise are installed on the same system. LOCAL (STANDALONE) DOMAIN (CLIENT/SERVER) Synergy Server, Synergy Client and Docu-Proof Enterprise All installed on the same computer - Synergy Server installed on a central location. - Synergy Client installed on the central location or any client computer. - Docu-Proof Enterprise installed on client computers. Page 6 of 49 Published 06 Mar. 2012

3.2 AUTHENTICATION There are two methods of authentication: i. LDAP: The username, password, and password settings are maintained by Windows 2003 and later windows server operating systems (Active directory). ii. Local: The username, password, and password settings are maintained by Synergy Server. Authentication is performed by the Synergy Server using only the users stored in its local database. 3.3 DATABASES The Synergy Server supports the followings three databases: i. MySQL: The installer can install this automatically (if required). ii. iii. MSSQL: Must be installed manually (if required). Oracle: Must be installed manually (if required). 3.4 APPLICATION COMPONENTS The system requires the following three components to be installed: i. Synergy Server: The Synergy Server component is required to manage the synchronization of the client application. ii. Synergy Client: The Synergy Client component is required to install the client application allowing for user maintenance, global settings maintenance, audit trail maintenance and license management. iii. Docu-Proof Enterprise: The Docu-Proof Enterprise component is required to install the Docu-Proof Enterprise application allowing for the inspection. Page 7 of 49 Published 06 Mar. 2012

DOCU-PROOF ENTERPRISE INSTALLATION GUIDE This form refers to the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) authentication settings (i.e. connecting to a network for domain authentication or using local authentication) and the Synergy Network settings required. Click Next to continue. ****NOTE: If local authentication is required, check the Do not use LDAP option. Click <Next> to continue. User Authentication Settings (LDAP Server): Domain Name: The identifier that defines a realm of administrative control on the Network. Machine Name: The network name of the system, where the LDAP Server is installed. User List Location: Directory path of the location where network users are stored in the directory. To determine this location, the Administrator is advised to use a directory browser such as Softerra LDAP Browser (www.softerra.com). The User List Location must be entered in the following format: XX.YY. ZZ. The above can be derived by finding the path where the users are stored. i.e. XX= Top Level OU; YY= Next Level OU. ZZ = last level OU. Detailed below is an example of how to determine the path using Global Vision s directory structure using Softerra LDAP Browser. Page 16 of 49 Published 06 Mar. 2012

o o o o o From the Root which is highlighted in blue (for our company the root is GlobalVision and is an alias name of the DC where the Directory service is installed). Determine the last significant OU by examining the tree structure of the Active Directory This OU has all the users (CN) displayed under it. Extract the path, using the OU names in descending order up to the last OU under which the users (CN) are specified. For example OU = MyBusiness OU = Users OU = SBSUsers Enter this path in the User List Location Field using the appropriate syntax i.e. MyBusiness.Users.SBSUsers NOTE: The general rule for specifying the location is: OU1<dot>OU2<dot> OUn. In the above example, there are 3 OU s, in descending order. LDAP Port ID: Communication port for the LDAP server (default = 389). Synergy Network Settings: User Port ID: Communication port used for the client application (i.e. Docu-Proof Enterprise). Admin Port ID: Communication port used for the Synergy Client. Choose Install Location screen appears. Choose the folder in which to install Synergy Server. Click Next >. Page 17 of 49 Published 06 Mar. 2012

NOTE: Refer to your Database Administrator for the above required information. Specify a Data Source Name (DSN), user name and password: - DSN: Same name as the used tablespace name (e.g. DCP2). - For using ORACLE authentication, enter credentials of a valid tablespace user (e.g. user name = DCP2, password = XXXXX). - Click Next to proceed to Installation Complete screen and continue. NOTE: After completing the installation refer to Database Administration Guide to continue with Oracle configuration. For MySQL: specify a user name and password. For example, DSN = docuproof2, user name = root, password = abc123. Refer to Section 5.2.2 MySQL Installation.
