Customers who have installed these updates and have CA Vantage configured to read the SMF record 15 and 64 might encounter the following issues: - The CA Vantage JESMSGLG part of joblog overloaded with VAN0591E messages - Invalid data in "Volume" and "Allocated Tracks" fields in "Data set allocations" object (OBJ02414). Note: Whether you encounter these issues depends on your z/os maintenance level (APAR OA43798 and A49627, or PTF UA80737 or RSU RSU1606). Apply this maintenance to reduce the risk. 1. The product issues VAN0591E messages in the JESMSGLG during the SMF records data collection as follows: VAN0591E: READ OF VTOC ON VOL=nnn... FAILED. RC=20 (NOT ONLINE DASD, OR NO FMT4 DSCB); 2. The volume field in the "Data set allocations" (OBJ02414) object, under the "Data Set Management" object in the GUI contains invalid EBCDIC characters instead of the volume names, the "A-Trks" field does not accurately specify the number of allocated tracks. 1. SMF record types 15 and 64 data collection, the JESMSGLG of CA Vantage might occupy a large area of SPOOL because the product issues several hundred VAN0591E JESMGLG messages when collecting data from SMF record types 15 and 64 for the "Data set allocations" object. 2. The customer might be unable to obtain correct and valid data for SMF record types 15 and 64 from the "Data set allocations" object in the GUI. 1. Set the DSALLOCS system parameter to N in the VKGPARMS member of user parmlib library so that the application does not show the VAN0591E messages in JESMSGLG. The PTF RO87721 fix for other issues in this module caused a compatibility conflict with this action. This fix prevents the abend and adds a message specifying the obsolete action and providing information about how to update the script with a supported action. ABEND in module VANSMSAD on offset 000004B8 while running script with ÝMULTI_ ADD_SMSVOL and PERFORM_ADD statements. This ABEND does not occur always when an executed script includes the old statement, but it might.
