Method One: VGA Monitor How do I get connected? Using the VGA cable, attach the BrailleNote APEX to the monitor. Ensure that your monitor has a power source and is turned on. 3
Next Turn on your BrailleNote APEX From the Main Menu press SPACEBAR- M BrailleNote Apex will announce: Main Menu Options Menu Navigate to the Options Menu press SPACEBAR- O BrailleNote Apex will announce: Options Menu 4

Confirm display option To confirm VGA display press ENTER BrailleNote Apex will announce: VGA, Main Menu (or location you were before entering Options Menu) Visual Display connected You should now see the BrailleNote APEX contents displayed on the monitor. 7
Method Two: Windows Computer with KeyView developing PARTNERSHIPS l building CAPACITY l supporting STUDENTS l implementing TECHNOLOGY Install KeyView Go to Humanware site and download KeyView software for Windows. KeyView is only available on Windows operating system. How do I get connected? Visual Display Select USB by pressing U BrailleNote Apex will announce: USB Confirm display option To confirm USB display press ENTER BrailleNote Apex will announce: VGA, Main Menu (or location you were before entering Options Menu) 11

Download VNC Viewer Go to the Real VNC site and the download the VNC Viewer for your platform. VNC Viewer is available for Windows, OSX and ios Fill out the form to download VNC Viewer 13
Install VNC Viewer Ready to Connect Wirelessly Once installed and launched, VNC viewer will prompt for a VNC Server, the APEX will generate the IP address. 14

Wireless Visual Display Select Wireless Display by pressing W BrailleNote Apex will announce: VNC server running on IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Do you want to set a password to secure the connection? Making the Connection Make note of the IP address as you will need it for your tablet or smart phone s visual VNC server running on IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Do you want to set a password to secure the connection? Type Y to set a password. Type N if you do not wish to set a password. 17
Back to your computer or mobile device Type in the IP address that the APEX announced when you selected Wireless Connection. Then click the CONNECT button. Visual Display connected You should now see the BrailleNote APEX contents displayed on the screen of your device. 18
