What is the ANZLIC Profile?
ANZLIC Profile - recommended The ANZLIC Profile of IS 19115 is ALL of ISO 19115 but at least
ANZLIC Profile Review - Content ANZLIC Metadata Working Group formed a subgroup to conduct a review of ANZLIC Profile commenced in 2010. Included items: ISO 19115:2005 ISO 19115-2:2009 Metadata - Part 2 ISO 19139 Metadata XML Scheme Implementation ISO 19119:2005 Geographic information Services (perhaps only 7.4 and Annex C)
ANZLIC Profile Review The Rules The sub-group has agreed on some guidelines for determining how changes to the profile are assessed. These include: If its in the standard, then it must be in the profile. An element may become mandatory if and only if the content for that element can be determined for every possible scenario. Backwards compatibility needs to be considered by the working group when defining obligations

Publishing the Metadata ASDD Revisited
Implementation - Publishing The Australian Spatial Data Directory ASDD 10 year old technology re-developed in Geo Network
ASDD in GeoNetwork Advantages: Open Source Strong developer / user Community (20+ in Aus / NZ) spread across Government (State and Federal), Academia (ANDS, SISS etc) Private sector Supports services beyond metadata discovery / access
ASDD in GeoNetwork Dis-advantages: It s Geeky The user interface User / Developer Community (20+ in Aus / NZ) spread across Government (State and Federal), Academia (ANDS, SISS etc) Private sector Lacking coordination
ASDD in GeoNetwork Addressing the issues: Engaging with the user / developer community OSDM to host workshops to: define development needs coordinate AU/NZ community activities liaise with international trunk dependent on adequate resources being identified Research project on best UI
