DResearch Hydra IP Network platform for road and rail vehicles The modular Hydra IP -system has been specifically designed for use in road and rail vehicles. The system is based on the Ethernet standard IEEE 802.3 and is compatible with the IT infrastructure of modern vehicles. Hydra IP is a modular information platform and data hub which can be scaled and extended by additional components and subsystems. The integration into existing vehicle communication platforms such as VDV301 (IBIS-IP) is smooth and easy to implement. Hydra IP can be combined with other on-board systems (eg. ITCS and eticketing) and offers the possibility to integrate Hydra DV (Digital Video) components directly. Specific required software interfaces for individual cases can be implemented with little effort. Customized systems All subsystems and components can be combined with each other. The level of equipment of vehicles and fleet can be adjusted very flexible according to the specific needs and circumstances. In this way for instance an existing Hydra IP passenger counting and rearview mirror system can be extended later by with infotainment and video system. By the provided data transmission option (3G/LTE/WLAN) video pictures and diagnostic data can be sent to the back office in real time. Hydra IP Smart Terminal and Network Video Recorder (NVR) support train operation and can handle situations as traction and dynamic composition. The integrated topology detection function automatically detects the position of every Hydra IP unit within the train composition and can automatically handle the outdoor cameras correctly. Updates of firmware and configuration can be easily conducted automatically from the back office application.
