Setting Up the IEC Declaration Tool To open and begin a new IEC declaration form - Download and install the Intel Declaration Tool by copy/pasting the link below into your web browser and following the instructions provided https://supplier.intel.com/static/environment/productcompliance/docs/supplier_training_download_declaration_tool.pdf Make sure to click I accept the terms and conditions.. - When the installation is complete, a new shortcut labeled EC Form Tool ( ) will appear on your desktop NOTE: Downloading the Intel Declaration Tool requires either Google Chrome or Internet Explorer 10/11 3

Section 1: Supplier Information Section Basic Supplier Information for the IEC 62474 Declaration Form 4

Section 1: Supplier Information Section Open the Intel Declaration Tool ( below). ). A new form will appear (shown Click on the arrow on the left of Supplier Information to open that section. This section consists of basic supplier contact information. 5

Section 1: Supplier Information Section (continued) IMPORTANT: - If any required (*) fields are left blank, they will be highlighted with red boxes as shown - This will also be noted in the IEC 62474 Error Summary NOTE: To access the Error Summary at any time, press the [F1] key 8

Section 2: Products Section (continued) Enter the values for each of the required (*) fields. Product Family Name (optional): Please enter the product family group for this product (if known). A product family consists of a group of products which have the SAME material content and compliance status Mfr Item Number*: This is the same as the Manufacture Part Number (MPN) Mfr Item Description*: This is a description of the product Effective Date*: This is auto-populated to current date of access, but can be changed by clicking the calendar icon ( ) Mass*: This is the weight of the product and it ONLY allows 4 digits to the right of the decimal point UoM* (unit of measure): This is the unit of measure (mg, g, kg) for the product. Select from the dropdown NOTE: Fields without an asterisk (*) are optional (See Next Slide for Examples) 11

Section 3: Material Classes Section Click the arrow left of Material Classes to open the Material Classes Section - This section contains data for your product that aligns to the IEC 62474 Material Classes - Use of the material classes enables eco-design and end of life recycling NOTE: The population of this section is optional 14

Section 3: Material Classes Section (continued) For each material class which applies to your product, provide either the mass or mass % in the relevant row. - Please use ONLY ONE of these columns (you can not populate both mass and mass %) If you choose to populate this section, the total percentage MUST fall between 95 and 100% of the total product mass, which was provided in the Products Section Must fall between 95 and 100% of total product mass (from Products Section) NOTE: Mass, mass % and % wt. in the IEC 62474 Declaration form allow only 4 digits to the right of the decimal point (e.g. If you enter 1.2, the IEC tool records it as 1.2000) 15

Section 4: Product Parts Section Lesson 1: General Product Parts Information Click the arrow left of Product Parts to open the Product Parts Section. - This section contains the substance-level material content reporting details of your product 18

Section 4: Product Parts Section Lesson 1: General Product Parts Information (continued) Enter the values for each of the required (*) fields. Fields without an asterisk are optional - ID*: Used to identify each sub-part (e.g. resistor, insulator, etc.). NOTE: Each ID MUST be unique. - Description: This is a description of the sub-part - Effective Date*: This is auto-populated to today s date but can be changed by clicking on the calendar icon - Quantity*: This is the quantity of this sub-part in the product - % of Product Mass*: This is the percent of the product mass that this sub-part contributes (only allows 4 digits to the right of the decimal point) 19

Section 4: Product Parts Section Lesson 1: General Product Parts Information (continued) A new tab appears for each sub-part entered in the Product Parts Section - A new row for another sub-part appears each time the previous row is filled out NOTE: the Total % of Product Mass MUST fall between 95 and 100% A new row appeared once row 2 was filled out 20

Section 4: Product Parts Section Lesson 2: RoHS Substance Group Tab Click on the RoHS Substance Group Tab for each sub-part - The Above Threshold? column is defaulted to Yes. Use the No button to toggle these values. Click OK on the pop up window. NOTE: All column values MUST be populated for a substance that is present in the materials. (Exemption value may not be applicable in all cases). 21

Section 4: Product Parts Section Lesson 2: RoHS Substance Group Tab (continued) To Add a new line item - Double-click the empty row at the bottom of the IEC Substance List Tab - Type the name of the substance - Complete the remaining fields - To add a new empty row, double-click the 2 nd to last row at the bottom of the IEC Substance List Tab To Delete a row you have added - Double-click and highlight the row to be deleted - Press the [Esc] key - And then the [Delete] key on your keyboard 25

Section 4: Product Parts Section What To Report Reporting Batteries in IEC 62474 - Batteries are NOT covered under EU RoHS - Battery suppliers should.. Change the Above Threshold? to No for all substances in the RoHS Substance Group Tab Declare any relevant substances in the IEC Substance Group and IEC substance List Tabs Bisphenol A (BPA) MUST be reported - This needs to be manually entered in the IEC Substance List Tab Poly-Vinyl Chloride (PVC) MUST be reported, it can be reported as.. - A product part/sub-part in the Product Parts Section - PolyVinylChloride (PVC) [ID: M-012] in the Material Classes Section 35

Section 4: Product Parts Section What To Report (continued) Option 1: Reporting PVC as PolyVinylChloride (PVC) [ID: M-012] in the Material Classes Section Must fall between 95 and 100% of total product mass (from Products Section) NOTE: If the PVC contains any declarable substances, it MUST be reported in the Product Parts Section as a product part as well (see option 2)

Section 4: Product Parts Section What To Report (continued) Option 2: Reporting PVC as a product part/sub-part in the Product Parts Section Must fall between 95 and 100% of total product mass (from Products Section) NOTE: Please fill out the RoHS Substance Group Tab, the IEC Substance Group Tab and the IEC Substance List Tab for this product part/sub-part (if applicable)

Section 4: Product Parts Section What To Report (continued) Phthalates regulated by REACH and CA prop 65 MUST be reported (see below) NOTE: The compounds in the table above are listed in both the IEC Substance Group Tab and the IEC Substance List Tab in the Product Parts Section. Any reportable phthalate not listed in the IEC tool MUST be reported and added as a new line item in the IEC Substance List Tab. 38

Section 4: Product Parts Section What to Report (continued) REACH Article Definition - An object during which production is given a special shape surface or design which determines its function to a greater degree than does its chemical composition NEW European Court of Justice ruling - (as of September 10, 2015) - Each of the articles incorporated as a component of a complex product is covered by the relevant duties to notify and provide information when they contain a substance of very high concern (SVHC) in a concentration above 0.1% of their mass Once an article, ALWAYS an article = Article = Article 39

Section 4: Product Parts Section What to Report: (continued) If a component contains any REACH SVHC s greater than 0.1% weight, then the SVHC concentration at component level MUST be reported SVHC s used as raw materials or chemical processing agents that do not remain in the final product DO NOT need to be reported - E.g. Lead monoxide as raw materials for glass or ceramic NOTE: If the residual of the SVHC s used as raw materials or processing agents exceeds 0.1% wt., a test report IS REQUIRED along with the IEC 62474 material declaration. This test report can be included in the Attachments Section (see Section 6) 40

Section 4: Product Parts Section What to Report (continued) The SVHC concentration above threshold MUST be recorded in either the IEC Substance Group Tab or the IEC Substance List Tab (make sure to change the Above Threshold? to Yes) NOTE: If the REACH SVHC is not listed in the IEC tool, it MUST be manually added in the IEC substance List Tab (see slide 34) 42

Section 4: Product Parts Section What to Report (continued) High risk components such as a cable or lithium coin cell battery may require a SVHC test report upon request - NOTE: A requested test report would be for the SVHC most likely to be used in the high risk component E.g. phthalates test report for cables Supplier should provide sufficient information to allow safe use of the product if available - Required for material/component containing SVHC above threshold which have direct skin contact NOTE: Safe handling/use information can be included in the Attachments section (see Section 6) 43

Section 5: Declaration Section EU RoHS and Low Halogen Declarations for the IEC 62474 Declaration Form 44

Section 5: Declaration Section Click the arrow on the left to open the Declaration Section - This section contains the EU RoHS and Low Halogen declarations Verify that the correct EU RoHS exemptions (if any) are listed here based on your selections in the RoHS Substance Group Tab in the Product Parts Section 45

Section 5: Declaration Section (continued) Verify that the Low Halogen statements are accurate and consistent with the substance information that you declared in the Product Parts Section - Check the chlorinated flame retardants and brominated flame retardants concentrations under the IEC Substance Group Tab in the Product Parts Section to verify the Low Halogen Product* statement below - For Low-Halogen PCB s*, check the chlorinated and brominated flame retardants concentrations ONLY if you have PCB base material listed as a subpart in the Product Parts Section 46

Section 6: Attachments Section Attaching Additional Files to the IEC 62474 Declaration Form

Section 6: Attachments Section Click the arrow on the left to open the Attachments Section of the IEC 62474 declaration form. - In this section, you can attach any additional files related to your item NOTE: You can include up to 10 attachments in this section. If you would like to include more than 10 attachments, fill out and submit the IEC 62474 declaration without the attachments first. Then, compress the attachments you would like to include in a separate zip file and email it to environmentalcompliance@intel.com, include the corresponding part number as well. 48

Section 7: Signature Section Digital Signature to the IEC 62474 Declaration Form

Section 7: Signature Section Click the arrow on the left to open the Signature Section - In this section, you will digitally sign (and lock) the declaration form First-time Users Only: In order to create a digital signature navigate to Edit -> Preferences 50

Section 7: Signature Section (continued) Enter a password of your choice and click Create New Certificate - NOTE: Your password MUST be at least 2 characters long Choose a password Then, click Create New Certificate Click OK on the pop up when finished 51

Section 7: Signature Section (continued) ONCE you have created your digital signature, you can apply it to all future files BEFORE you digitally sign the file, make sure to: - SAVE the file - FIX all errors (error messages can be accessed by pressing the [F1] key) - PROOFREAD the file to make any necessary changes/edits NOTE: Once the form has been digitally signed, you can not make any changes to that version. You can re-open the form to make any edits, but you would need to digitally sign and lock the file again in order to save your changes. 52

Section 7: Signature Section (continued) NOTE: A saved file can be used as a template for additional declarations with unique file names To digitally sign the file, type in your password and click Digitally Sign 53

Appendix Reference Information for the IEC 62474 Declaration Form

Appendix Homogeneous layer - Definition: A layer of uniform composition throughout OR a layer, consisting of a combination of materials, that cannot be disjointed or separated into different materials by mechanical actions such as unscrewing, cutting, crushing and abrasive processes Examples of homogeneous layers include ceramics, plastics and resins. However, homogeneous layers are determined on a case by case basis. They will vary on whether your item is a resistor or a Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA).
