However, this time can vary depending on your hardware and software configuration. Process checklist Table 1-1. Process checklist Step Status Review system requirements See System requirements on page 1-2 Verify that the ServerXchange platform version is 3.2 or higher Verify that you have prepared the physical server for the ServerXchange environment See Installing the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system on page 2-1 Add the physical server to ServerXchange See Adding the Windows server to Ensim ServerXchange 3.2 on page 2-2 Download WEBppliance Pro from Ensim AppXchange See Before you install on page 3-1 (Step 4) Install WEBppliance Pro using ServerXchange See Installing WEBppliance Pro on page 3-2 Log on to WEBppliance Pro as the Appliance Administrator See Logging on as the Appliance Administrator on page 5-1 ENSIM WEBPPLIANCE PRO FOR WINDOWS 2000 (SERVERXCHANGE) INSTALLATION GUIDE 1-1

Table 1-3 lists the minimum software requirements. Table 1-3. Software requirements Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server - English version Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4 For information about, or to download Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4), access the following URL. http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp Administrator user access You must keep your administrator user password handy. This is the password you set at the time of the Windows 2000 operating system installation. You will need the password to log on as the Appliance Administrator and use WEBppliance Pro at the Appliance level. Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0, installed by default with the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Microsoft FTP Server Microsoft SMTP Server DNS entries You must ensure that DNS is correctly configured for WEBppliance Pro. This means that you must have an Address (A) record for WEBppliance Pro in your DNS system. An Address (A) record maps a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) to an IP address within the zone. It creates forward or host name-to-address mapping and enables you to access WEBppliance Pro using a host name rather than an IP address. The following is an example of an Address (A) record. host.domain.com. IN A 10.11.12.13 Server with Windows 2000 installed using the ServerXchange Kickstart installation process If you install Windows 2000 on the server using the ServerXchange Kickstart installation process, ensure that the Kickstart process installs Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4 before you start the WEBppliance Pro installation. To check the version of the Windows Service Pack on your server: 1 Log on to the server as the administrator. 2 Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. The Add/Remove Programs window opens. 3 Check the version of the Service Pack in the list of currently installed programs. For more information about, or to download Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 4 (SP4), access the following URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp ENSIM WEBPPLIANCE PRO FOR WINDOWS 2000 (SERVERXCHANGE) INSTALLATION GUIDE 1-3

Web browser requirements To access the WEBppliance Pro interface (after installing WEBppliance Pro), you need one of the following browsers with cookies enabled. Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 5.0 and later Netscape, version 6.2 Other versions and browsers have either not been tested, or are incompatible with WEBppliance Pro. Note: The user interface is best viewed in Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 5.0 and later with a 1024 X 768 screen resolution and 256 colors. License requirement Unlike earlier versions of WEBppliance, you need a valid license before you can log on as the Appliance Administrator and begin using WEBppliance Pro. The licenses are packaged as suites and available on Ensim AppXchange. The WEBppliance Pro license type determines the number of sites that can be created and the period for which WEBppliance Pro can be used. There are two types of licenses: A limited length license, for example, 14 days evaluation with 5 sites A registered license for a pre-determined number of sites (20, 100, 250, 500, and so on) You can register the license from within the ServerXchange interface. For instructions about registering the license, see Chapter 4, Registering the WEBppliance Pro license. Note: Use only the ServerXchange interface to manage your WEBppliance Pro license. The License Manager option in the WEBppliance Pro interface is redundant and cannot be used to install a new license or upgrade an existing one. 1-4 ENSIM WEBPPLIANCE PRO FOR WINDOWS 2000 (SERVERXCHANGE) INSTALLATION GUIDE

Viewing Urchin 4.1 reports To view site reports in Urchin 4.1 you must log on to the Urchin 4.1 interface by entering the Site Administrator username and password. About the Urchin 4.1 username and password For the demo version of Urchin 4.1, the administrator logon name is admin and the password is urchin. You can change the password anytime from the Urchin 4.1 administrator interface; however, you cannot change the administrator logon name. For new domains (created after installing Urchin 4.1 and the Urchin 4.1 add-on), the username and password to view Urchin 4.1 reports is the same as the Site Administrator logon name and password. Changing the Site Administrator password also changes the Urchin password. Note: If you disable Urchin 4.1 for a domain and then enable it again, the Urchin password for the domain is set to welcome. Enabling Urchin 4.1 for an existing domain (created prior to installing Urchin 4.1) also sets the Urchin password to welcome. In both cases, changing the Site Administrator password sets the Urchin password to the newly changed password. ENSIM WEBPPLIANCE PRO FOR WINDOWS 2000 INSTALLATION GUIDE 6-5
