PageScope Web Connection Getting Started OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION PageScope Web Connection is a built-in utility software that allows users to check machine status and machine settings from their desktop. It also allows Administrators to manage devices on the network from their desktop. Users and administrators can also register addresses, access files and enter Konica Minolta support information to allow for quick and easy access to authorized Konica Minolta personnel when immediate assistance is required. APPLICATION The Administrator in a large corporation needs to access the Konica Minolta bizhub devices on the network and must ensure that the mechanisms are in place to remotely manage the fleet, check machine status conditions and program machine settings. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Assign an IP Address to the device(s). Operating Environment Requirements. Job Requirements Access to a PC Access to the MFPs on the network 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you want access and press Enter. At the end user level, there are 5 tabs available. Tab Information Job Box Direct Print Store Address Description Enables users or administrators to check system components, accessories, device name, device location, engine serial number, device type (print/copy/ fax/scan), toner levels, paper sizes, paper types (plain paper) as well as paper status (ready/empty) meter counts, Eco information. Allows users or administrators to check jobs in progress as well as the job log. The communication list displays the results of san transmissions, fax transmissions and fax receptions. Permits users and administrators to create user boxes, print files from users boxes and send files from user boxes. Enables users and administrators to send PDF or TIFF files on the computer directly to the selected device and print it without using the print driver. Allows users or administrators to register frequently used destinations and edit the registered content. 3. Click on the To Login Screen to access the PageScope Web Connection Administrator Level. 2

4. When prompted Are you sure you want to logout of Public User and to the login screen?, click on OK. 5. Click on Administrator radio button. 6. Click on Login. 7. Enter Administrator Password (this is the same number you use to access Administrator Mode of the device; the default is 1234567812345678) and click OK. Tab Maintenance System Settings Security User Authentication/ Account Track Network Box Print Setting Store Address Fax Settings Wizard Customize To Top Menu Description Check meter counts, ROM version, enter notification settings, date/time information, etc. Allows Administrator to enter various system settings (machine settings, reset settings, stamp settings, blank page settings, etc.). Allows Administrator to enter security related settings. Enables Administrator to program settings that will effectively manage users and track activity. Allows Administrator to enter network related information. Enables Administrator to enter User Box parameters as well as create and edit User Boxes. Allows Administrator to configure print settings. Allows Administrator to register frequently used destinations. Allows Administrator to register fax settings and information. Provides Administrators with a quick way of entering settings by following the Wizard prompts. Enables the Administrator to specify the initial screen they wish to appear within each menu. Provides quick and easy access to frequently used functions. Returns Administrator to top level menu. 3

Eco-Related Information using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator to automatically receive environment-related notifications. APPLICATION Business and organizations (schools, legal offices, hospitals, government agencies, corporations) want to ensure that all users adhere to the measures set forth to protect the environment. The administrator is responsible for reporting how well each department, and in some cases, every user is maximizing the environmentally friendly features the bizhub MFP has to offer. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access and press Enter. 3. Click on the To Login Screen to access the PageScope Web Connection Administrator Level. 4. When prompted Are you sure you want to logout of Public User and to the login screen?, click on OK. 5. Click on Administrator radio button. 6. Click on Login. 7. Enter Administrator Password (this is the same number you use to access Administrator Mode of the device; the default is 1234567812345678) and click OK. 4

8. Click on the Maintenance tab. 9. Click on Total Counter Notification Setting. 10. Enter Model Name in Model Name Field. 11. Enter Schedule Settings for Schedule 1. a. Monthly b. Interval: 1 Month c. Date of Month: 5 12. Register Notification Address(es). You can register up to three (3) Email addresses to receive the notification and you can select which schedule is used as the basis for the notification (Schedule 1 or Schedule 2). Please note that within each Email Address field (Address 1, Address 2 and Address 3) you can enter multiple names to create groups thereby increasing the number of recipients that receive the Eco-Related Notification. 13. In the test Notice Section, click on the drop down menu for Send Notice after setting complete and Select ON (this is similar to a test print function, it will send a sample notice to let you know that it s working). 14. Click OK. 5

Creating a User Box using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator or users (provided they have been granted access) to remotely set up User Boxes. APPLICATION The organization wants users to store templates and other commonly used forms in User Boxes for quick and easy access at the device. To expedite the process, the administrator and key managers will be setting up User Boxes for the staff. The ability to set up the User Boxes from their desktop is an efficient means of accomplishing this task. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) where the User Box or User Boxes will be stored. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access and press Enter. 3. Click on the To Login Screen to access the PageScope Web Connection Administrator Level. 4. When prompted Are you sure you want to logout of Public User and to the login screen?, click on OK. 5. Click on Administrator radio button. 6. Click on Login. 7. Enter Administrator Password (this is the same number you use to access Administrator Mode of the device; the default is 1234567812345678) and click OK. 6

8. Click on the Box tab. 9. Click on Create User Box from the list that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. 10. Enter the following information (for each User Box). a. Select User Opening Number to use the default number or click on Input Directly if you wish to specify the User Box Number. b. Enter User Box Name. c. Click on Assign User Box Password if you wish to password protect the User Box. d. If you selected a password, enter the password again in the Retype User Box Password field. e. Specify the Index in which you would like the User Box to appear by clicking the dropdown arrow and selecting the desired Index from the menu. f. In the Auto Delete Document section select Do Not Delete (choice are): i. Do Not Delete to keep the file in the User Box. ii. Specify Days to select the number of days until the file is automatically deleted. iii. Specify Time to enter a time period before the file is automatically deleted. 7

The following menu item is ONLY available when the OPTIONAL FAX KIT IS INSTALLED and the user wishes to add the Confi dential User Box to permit the receipt of Confi dential Fax Receptions. g. To view the User Box Expansion Functions, click on Display. i. Select the Confidential RX check box. ii. Enter the password for the Confidential Rx (up to 8 characters. This is the password that will be required when sending a fax using Confi dential TX to this MFP. The recipient will need to advise the sender of this password. 11. Click OK to create the User Box. 12. Click Return to return to the User Box List to view list of User Boxes, including the one you just created (you would click on Create Additional User Boxes if you want to create more User Boxes). 13. Click Logout to log out of PageScope Web Connection. 8

Printing Files from a User Box using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator or users (provided they have been granted access) to remotely print files that are stored in User Boxes. APPLICATION Users want to access files that they have stored in their User Box from their desktop so that the files will be waiting on the device when they get to the MFP. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) where the User Box is stored so you can access the files. Multiple User Boxes stored on the PC. Files must be stored in the User Boxes on the MFP. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access and press Enter. 3. Click on the Box tab. 4. Click on Open User Box from the list that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. 5. Click and select the desired User Box from the User Box List. a. You can open the User Box by directly inputting the number in the User Box Number field. b. If the User Box is password protected, you will need to enter the password. 9

6. Click OK. If a fi le can be printed, a check box will appear in the SELECT column and a print symbol depicted by a single page is shown in the SELECTABLE OPERATION column. 7. From the list of files stored in the selected User Box, click on the box in the Select column that corresponds to the file you wish to print and press Print OR click on the Print Symbol in the Selectable Operation Column. 8. Select the desired print options (if print options are not necessary, press OK to print). a. In the Change Order section of the screen, you can change the order of any stamps that will be applied to the document. Use the Top, Up, Down, Bottom and Undo buttons to position the stamps accordingly. b. Click on the Combine dropdown box select ON if you wish to combine two or more files (Up to 10 document can be combined and printed as one document). c. Enter the number of prints you need by entering the amount (1-999) in the Number of Sets field. d. Click on the 2-sided Print dropdown box and select ON if you wish to duplex your output. 10

e. Click on the Sort dropdown box to select your sort method. f. Click on the Offset dropdown box to select your offset method. g. Select the Staple dropdown box to select your staple method. h. Select the Punch dropdown box to select your punch method. i. Select the Binding Position dropdown box to select your binding method. j. Select the Fold dropdown box to select your folding method. k. Select the Half-Fold/Tri-Fold Operation Selection dropdown box to select your half-fold/tri-fold method. l. Select the Specified Page dropdown box to enter a specific page or pages you wish to print and enter the page range. m. For Zoom Settings, click on the radio button of the desired zoom setting: i. Existing Zoom ii. Fixed Zoom iii. Zoom Magnification (enter zoom range between 25% 400% iv. User Preset Zoom v. Minimal n. Select the Combine Direction dropdown box if you wish to change the direction of the combine function. 11

9. Press Display for Application Setting to display the application settings (Page Margin, Image Shift, Sheet/Cover/Chapter Insert, Stamp, etc.). 10. Select the Save Print Settings dropdown box and select ON if you wish to save the selected print settings (please note that you cannot save 2-sided Print, Zoom and Combine Direction settings). 11. Press OK after all print settings have been made. 12. When the prompt Print has been executed appears, click OK. 13. Click on Login Screen to log out and click x. 12

Moving Files in a User Box to another User Box using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator or users (provided they have been granted access) to remotely move or copy files that are stored in User Boxes to another User Box. APPLICATION Users want to access files that they have stored in their User Box from their desktop so that they can easily share files with other individuals, departments that need access to the information that has been saved in the User Box or simply because the scope of their work has changed and they need to organize their files in different User Boxes. In this case, the files are moved or copied from one User Box to another User Box (or moved/copied to multiple User Boxes). HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) where the User Box is stored so you can access the files. Multiple User Boxes stored on the PC. Files must be stored in the User Boxes on the MFP. Multiple User Boxes must be pre-programmed. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access and press Enter. 3. Click on the Box tab. 4. Click on Open User Box from the list that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. 13

5. Click and select the desired User Box from the User Box List. a. You can open the User Box by directly inputting the number in the User Box Number field. b. If the User Box is password protected, you will need to enter the password. 6. Click OK. If a fi le can be moved or copied to another User Box, a check box will appear in the SELECT column and a document symbol is shown in the SELECTABLE OPERATION column. Please note that you cannot select multiple fi les. You must select ONE fi le at a time. 7. From the list of files stored in the selected User Box, click on the box in the Select column that corresponds to the file you wish to move or copy and select Move/Copy OR click on the Document Symbol in the Selectable Operation column. 8. Select Move/Copy. 9. Specify the User Box in which you wish to Move/Copy the selected file by clicking on Search for List. 14

10. Click in the Select column of the desired User Box. 11. Click OK to move the file. 12. Click OK to return to the list of files stored in the User Box. 13. From the list of files stored in the selected User Box, click on the box in the Select column that corresponds to the file you wish to move OR click on the Document Symbol. 14. Specify the User Box in which you wish to move the selected file. 15. Click OK to move the file. 16. Click OK to return to the list of files stored in the User Box. 15

From the list of files stored in the selected User Box, click on the box in the Select column that corresponds to the file you wish to copy OR click on the Document Symbol. 15. Specify the User Box in which you wish to copy the selected file. 16. Click OK to copy the file. 17. Click OK to return to the list of files stored in the User Box. 18

Sending Files from a User Box using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator or users (provided they have been granted access) to remotely send files that are stored in User Boxes to any destination that has been stored in the MFP. APPLICATION Users want to access files that they have stored in their User Box from their desktop so that they can easily share files with other individuals, departments or outside vendors, business partners, etc. that need access to the information that has been saved in the User Box. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) where the User Box is stored so you can access the files. Multiple User Boxes stored on the PC. Files must be stored in the User Boxes on the MFP. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access and press Enter. 3. Click on the Box tab. 4. Click on Open User Box from the list that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. 19

5. Click and select the desired User Box from the User Box List. a. You can open the User Box by directly inputting the number in the User Box Number field. b. If the User Box is password protected, you will need to enter the password. 6. Click OK. If a fi le can be downloaded, a check box will appear in the SELECT column and a fi le folder symbol is shown in the SELECTABLE OPERATION column. 7. From the list of files stored in the selected User Box, click on the box in the Select column that corresponds to the file you wish to download OR select the File Folder Symbol from the Selectable Operation column. 8. Select the desired Download Options: a. Number of Originals b. Color Type c. File Format d. Outline PDF e. Page Range 9. Click OK. The screen will display Now Exporting. Please wait. 20

10. When the file is ready to be downloaded, the following message will appear: Preparation for download has been completed. Click the Download button to start saving. When the save is completed, press the Back button), the file File Download Menu will appear on the screen, click Download to save the file to the Download Folder on your PC. Deleting Files in a User Box OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator or users (provided they have been granted access) to remotely delete files that are stored in User Boxes APPLICATION Users want to access files that they have stored in their User Box from their desktop so that they can easily delete files that are no longer required a project has been completed, the files have been transferred to another department to handle or the files are no longer needed. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) where the User Box is stored so you can access the files. Multiple User Boxes stored on the PC. Files must be stored in the User Boxes on the MFP. Multiple User Boxes must be pre-programmed. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access. 3. Click on the Box tab. 4. Click on Open User Box from the list that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. 5. Click and select the desired User Box from the User Box List. a. You can open the User Box by directly inputting the number in the User Box Number field. b. If the User Box is password protected, you will need to enter the password. 22

6. Click OK. If a fi le can be moved or copied to another User Box, a check box will appear in the SELECT column and a document delete symbol is shown in the SELECTABLE OPERATION column. Please note that you cannot select multiple fi les. You must select ONE fi le at a time. 7. From the list of files stored in the selected User Box, click on the box in the Select column that corresponds to the file you wish to delete and select Delete or click on the Document Delete symbol in the Selectable Operation column. 8. When prompted, Are you sure you want to delete?, check the file name to be deleted in the selected File Box and click OK. 9. Click OK. 10. Exporting Destinations Registered in One bizhub MFP to another bizhub MFP using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator to save destinations that have already been programmed on one bizhub MFP to other bizhub MFPs without having to re-enter information. APPLICATION Administrators want to program destinations in one bizhub MFP and then copy those destinations to more or more bizhub MFPs on the network without having to register each destination individually. This is an efficient way to register destinations in multiple bizhub MFPs and eliminates the potential for keystroke errors. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. All bizhub MFPs must be on the same network. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) where the User Box is stored so you can access the files. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. All bizhub MFPs must be on the same network. The Favorite Setting in PageScope Web Connection will allow users to store frequently accessed settings. APPLICATION Several bizhub MFPs have been sold in a mid-size company and they will be placed in several departments human resources, legal department, administrative department, marketing department and the sales department. The end-users in within each of the department have different responsibility and duties. In order to quickly expedite the operations that they perform on a consistent basis, they want to customize the PageScope Web Connection User Mode Screen. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. This function must be turned ON in Administrator Mode but is only customized and accessed in User Mode. Job Requirements Access to a PC. Access to the MFPs on the network. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you want access and press Enter. 3. Click on Administrator radio button. 4. Click on Login. 5. Enter Administrator Password (this is the same number you use to access Administrator Mode of the device; the default is 1234567812345678). 32

6. Click on System Settings. 7. Select Customize from the System Setting selections by clicking on the Favorite Setting radio button. 8. Option will be enabled for the Customize function. 9. Click OK. 10. From the Login menu, click on the Public User radio button to login as a user. 11. From the View menu, click on Flash. 12. Click Login. In this particular scenario, the user wants to check device information (toner levels, paper levels, etc.), and has to create User Boxes as well as register one-touch destinations in the Address Book on a regular basis. This user also has to change the subject and the text that accompanies Emails to correspond to the project at hand. 13. Changing the Administrator Password using PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION This function allows an administrator to remotely change the default administrator password. Administrators can make this setting change from the convenience of their desktop. This is a highly efficient manner of making this change, especially when a large number of engines have been installed. APPLICATION For security purposes, the company, organization, government agency, etc. wants to change the default Administrator password to ensure that unauthorized personnel do not gain access to the Administrator level settings. They do not want to risk end users discovering the default administrator password which would enable them to change settings, register information, etc. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements The bizhub MFP must be networked. Must have a PC that will access the bizhub MFP and allow access to the PageScope Web Connection Utility using a standard web browser. Job Requirements The IP Address or IP Addresses of the MFP(s) that will be assigned a different password. Please note that the Administrator Password can also be changed at the device. 1. Launch Internet Explorer or Firefox. 2. Type in the IP Address of the bizhub MFP you wish to access and press Enter. 3. Click on the To Login Screen to access the PageScope Web Connection Administrator Level. 4. When prompted Are you sure you want to logout of Public User and to the login screen?, click on OK. 5. Enter the new Administrator Password (a maximum of 64 characters can be entered) in the New Administrator Password field. Please note that a quotation mark ( ) cannot be used in the password. 13. Enter the new Administrator Password a second time in the Re-type New Administrator Password field. 14. Click OK. The new Administrator Password entered via PageScope Web Connection is the same new password that is entered at the MFP Control Panel. 40

Restricting Use of PageScope Web Connection OVERVIEW SUMMARY APPLICATION Restricts end user access to PageScope Web Connection on one or more bizhub MFP engines on the network. APPLICATION The Administrator does not want end-users to access PageScope Web Connection to ensure that all mandated settings remain consistent across all devices on the network or there is a need to restrict access to specific MFPs that reside on the network. HOW Pre-Requisites System Requirements Administrator access to bizhub MFP engine(s) Job Requirements Knowledge of Administrator Password to access Administrator Mode on the MFP(s). 1.
