www.osram-americas.com/controls Connected Lighting Module (CLM) Installation and Commissioning Guide Introduction This document provides a set of guidelines for OEMs and installers for the OSRAM Connected Lighting Module (CLM). The CLM is a fixture-integrated component in a Light Management System (LMS). It enables luminaires to be connected to any LMS that is based on ZigBee Home Automation communication protocol. Individually addressable, the CLM enables each luminaire to be independently controlled and configured to best meet the needs of the facility. The installation section provides instructions for OEMs to efficiently integrate the CLM into their luminaires on the assembly line. The commissioning section is aimed toward installers and commissioning agents to successfully deploy OSRAM powered, wirelessly enabled luminaires in the field. Wiring Information The CLM DIM is powered from the auxiliary output of the OSRAM Linear LED Power Supply or by using a third party power supply. The 0-10V dimming wires are connected from the module to each LED power supply that is intended to be controllable. This section will provide guidance to each of the scenarios. The CLM DEXAL can be powered with an OSRAM DEXAL LED Power Supply where the power and communication takes place over the single bus. A solid core wire of 18-22 AWG is to be used with a recommended strip length of 6-7mm to ensure secure connection. There is also a cable strain relief provided to ensure that the wires are held efficiently to the module. NOTE: Before wiring the module, it is strongly recommended that the module and the power supply be first assembled in the luminaire. Some common mounting preferences are suggested in the next section. CLM DIM Single LED Power Supply When using OSRAM OPTOTRONIC LED drivers with auxiliary output, the driver should be programmed to 12V auxiliary. The default auxiliary voltage of the drivers out-of-the-box is 12V. This wiring is suitable for luminaires with single LED power supply. LED RED PRG/ YELLOW Vaux OUT DIM PURPLE DIM DIM 12 VDC 2
Multiple LED Power Supplies When using OSRAM OPTOTRONIC LED drivers with auxiliary output, the driver should be programmed to 12V auxiliary. The default auxiliary voltage of the drivers out-of-the-box is 12V. This wiring is suitable for luminaires with multiple LED power supplies that are to be controlled uniformly by a single module. IEEE Address Each CLM has a dedicated 16-digit IEEE 802.15.4 and a 2D Data Matrix scannable barcode to identify a particular device on a network. A label containing both barcodes is secured on the device. Two additional labels are available for OEMs to secure on the luminaire during manufacturing. The availability of these barcodes enable an efficient workflow during the installation stage. IEEE Address Mounting Preferences The unique form factor of the CLM delivers ultimate flexibility for OEMs to install it in a standard half-inch knockout present in all luminaires. The mounting clip at the top of the device ensures that the module secures into the luminaire. Some common examples of mounting are provided below. Insert module into standard half-inch knockout Push the module to lock into the luminaire Side mounting Placement of barcode labels: 1. Place one barcode on the fixture next to the CLM mounting location. 2. Tape the bag containing the remaining barcode label to the top surface of the fixture. This can be easily found by the commissioning team during installation. Note: If these instructions are not adhered to or the barcode is not shipped with the luminaire, problems will arise during installation. Top mounting 5
End-of-Line (EOL) Testing To facilitate OEMs to conduct system operation at the end of the manufacturing line, an end-of-line testing routine is pre-programmed into the device that confirms the wiring and the wireless readiness of the device. When the luminaire is powered, the fixture turns ON and reaches its full output. The CLM then cycles through the entire dimming range starting from 100% output level to OFF* two times. This confirms that the module is receiving power and is able to communicate the 0-10V dimming signals to the power supply. The blinking of the LED module is also an indicator that the module has not been paired and that it is actively scanning for open networks. The end-of-line testing routine repeats at each power cycle. Before commissioning, this routine can be used to determine if a device has been paired to a network. In addition to this pre-programmed sequence, the OSRAM Wiring Test Tool (56306) can be used to toggle the luminaire ON and OFF and go through a defined dim to minimum sequence prior to commissioning. This would indicate that the CLM is wired correctly and ready to be paired to an open network. For more information, please refer to the Wiring Test Tool User Guide. *Only when dim-to-off feature is enabled via the OT Programmer for OPTOTRONIC LED Power Supply. If feature set not enabled, the fixture would go to the minimum dimming level. Rewiring The CLM can be rewired by carefully unscrewing the wires from the terminal blocks as shown. Resetting Pressing the reset button for 5 seconds resets the product to the factory default state where the product removes group membership, binding table, and sets any persistent attributes to their default values. NOTE: The CLM should be powered up while being reset manually. ZBHA-CLM-DIM. NAED 45678 Connected Lighting Module Energy Management Equipment ROHS Compliant Ta 60 C MAX. Connected Lighting Module Commissioning guide Commissioning 1.1 Commissioning Commissioning cluster is implemented for moving the product from one network to another or removing the product from current network. The process on each operation is described below. Moving the product Reset startup parameters Write attributes for the ExtendedPANId, ChannelMask and StartupControl (0x02 - rejoin) Read attributes to confirm that the attributes were written correctly Restart device with a delay of 10 seconds Removing the product Reset startup parameters Write attributes for the StartupControl (0x03 - associate) Read attributes to confirm that the attributes were written correctly Restart device with a delay of 10 seconds 1.2 Detecting Missing Coordinator In case the module loses communication with the coordinator for one hour, it is designed to actively search for the coordinator by sending a ZDO IEEE address request to short address of 0x0000 4 times at 30 second intervals. If the coordinator is found to not be present, how the product operates next is defined differently depending on whether it is assigned in any group. If grouped The product scans all the channels to search for the coordinator. If found, it will join the network. If not found, it presumes operation at the original channel. If not grouped The product resets itself to the factory default state and starts looking for new network to join. 1.3 Firmware Upgrade The product implements ZigBee standard OTA firmware upgrade scheme. 1.4 Attribute Reporting The product implements attribute reporting on on/off and current level attributes to entries in the binding table. 1.5 Binding Table The binding table size is 16 total including groups.
