Installation Guide with Windows 2008 R2 This document provides instructions on setting up a Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Server with the ESM 5.4.2 installer. The installer will install all of the required prerequisites needed by ESM with the exception of Internet Information Services (IIS). Single Server Setup Distributed Server Setup A/B A B SINGLE SERVER SETUP PART A: SERVER SETUP Ensure supported version of Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system is installed 1. Install Internet Information Services (IIS) 2. Windows Updates until no more updates available 3. Install ESM 4. Install Flash 10 or higher 5. Configure Virus Scan to exclude archive storage directory 6. Turn- off Indexing on storage drives 7. Enable ActiveX download and enable File Download in the Internet Explorer security settings. Note: To ensure cameras have the correct time documented on videos, the archive server must be setup as an authoritative time server. The Windows Time Service ensures that a common time is used. For more information on how to configure the time server to ensure an accurate time display, visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816042 for the latest support documentation. 3
PART B: CLIENT WORKSTATION SETUP 1. Install Adobe Flash 10 or higher 2. Enable ActiveX download and enable File Download in the Internet Explorer security settings. To get ActiveX enabled, you will have to go to Internet Options, then select Security; for Internet and Local Intranet, select Custom Level... 1.) Enable ActiveX download and enable File Download in the Internet Explorer security settings. A. Enable: Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without prop B. Enable: Allow Scriptlets C. Enable: Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media player D. Prompt: Download signed ActiveX controls E. Enable: Run ActiveX controls and plug- ins F. Enable: Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting* G. Enable: Automatic prompting for file downloads H. Enable: File download I. Enable: Font download This will have to happen on each workstation/server that you will want to view the Matrix or Archive on, along with making sure that Adobe Flash is installed. 4
ipconfigure ESM 5.4.2 Software Installation Process (For 2008 R2 Server) This document provides a detailed explanation of how to install the Enterprise Surveillance Manager (ESM 5.4.2) Server Software. The installation guide utilizes screen shots of an actual ESM 5.4.2 system and includes a numbering methodology to reference screen attributes. The attributes are associated with a page legend to provide a detailed explanation of each attribute. Install IIS Click Server Manager - > Roles - > Add Roles - > Server Roles - > Web Server (IIS) 5
Click Next (Select Server Roles) - > Next (Web Server IIS) - > Next (Role Services) - > Next (Confirmation) - > Install - > Progress - > Results - > Close 6

ESM system properties will require the IP address or DNS name of the Management / Archive Server Enter IP Address in the required fields (Note this is the same server IP you re currently on which should be set to a static IP address by your network engineer). 16

Install the 3 rd Tier The 3 rd Tier server allows additional recording servers to share the same database as the Archive server for additional storage / cameras. Double click the ESM installer 25

ipconfigure ESM 5.4.2 Uninstall Process This document provides a detailed explanation of how to perform a server uninstall of ESM ipconfigure from a Windows 2008 R2 Server. Please note - This process is for removing ESM entirely from the system as this will remove all ESM data from the system* Remove ipconfigure Start - > Control Panel - > Uninstall a program - > Uninstall ipconfigure ESM 5.4.2 - > Uninstall ipconfigure embedded media player Verify that both of the programs have been removed. SQL Server Management Studio Log into SQL Server Management Studio Expand Databases and delete the aspnetdb, ESM5_2, ESM5_2 Central (ensure the checkbox is checked for deleting backup and restore history information for databases) Expand Security - > Logins and delete ipconfigure and webcam Exit SQL Server Management Studio Internet Information Services Navigate to sites and right click on the camera website to delete it Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - > SOFTWARE Verify that there is not an ipconfigure Entry File Server Click Computer - > Local Disk (C:) - > Delete ipconfigure Validate ipconfigure does not exist in Program Files or Program Files (x86) 38
