Curator Tool Installation Instructions Release 1.9.8.14 January 30, 2018 Please read this page before proceeding. A new release of the Curator Tool (v. 1.9.8.14) is available and can be downloaded at the GRIN Global downloads page: https://npgsweb.ars grin.gov/gringlobal/downloads/default.aspx The most notable enhancement in this release is a new accession_inventory_attachment wizard. Complete documentation for the wizard is online at: https://www.grin global.org/docs/gg_inventory_attachment_wizard.docx Certain report files were omitted in the build, but should have been included. A new build will be out shortly, but in the meantime a zip file containing these reports files must be downloaded and the.rpt files need to be installed on each user s PC. Directions for loading CT report files is online at: https://www.grin global.org/docs/gg_installing_ct_report_files.docx Release notes detailing the changes are included in the Appendix A and online at: https://www.grin global.org/docs/ct_release_notes.pdf To Install Network Security Requirements In organizations such as the USDA ARS, with Enterprise Active Directory (EAD) network security requirements, only someone who has Windows administrative elevated privileges should install the Curator Tool. In an EAD, a standard PC user who does not have the elevated Windows administrative privileges cannot serve as the admin and cannot install the CT. If any version of the Curator Tool has not been installed yet on the PC, refer to the directions at https://www.grin global.org/docs/gg_install_ct.pdf If you have been using the CT recently with the NPGS production database NPGSWEB, there will be no need to update your lookup tables (since the database is not being updated). Please contact feedback@ars grin.gov for assistance or if you have any questions. gg_install_ct_1_9_8_14_directions_2018jan30.docx Page 1
