The HL-DL is a long run modular LED lighting system designed for architectural delineation and data centers where long runs are necessary with a single power feed. This guide contains important information on planning and installing your new HL-DL LED fixture. For your protection, read it carefully and save it for future reference. Do not attempt to install or use Luminaire until you read and understand this guide and safety labels. Luminaires must be installed by a qualified professional in accordance with all national and local electrical and construction codes and regulations. Ensure that main power supply is OFF before installing or wiring luminaire(s). Do not exceed specified voltage and current input. Do not use luminaires with a damaged lens, body, or cable. Not heading cautions may result in a hazardous situation which can cause equipment and property damage, personal injury, or death. 1. MOUNTING PROFILE INSTALLATION Do not exceed the specified voltage and current input. Do not exceed the maximum number of specified fixtures in a light run. Doing so will result in a current overload. GVA Luminaires have no serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open the units. Do not hot swap! Ensure power supply is off before connecting or disconnecting fixtures. Do not stare into beam or view directly with optical instruments. Unauthorized feild repairs will void warranty. 1.1. Use M6 or #10 screws/bolts (supplied by others) to secure the aluminum mounting profile. Use fasteners suitable for the mounting surface. Mounting tape may be used if tool access is difficult or impossible. Leave a 2mm (5/64in) gap between each mounting profile. Use mounting hardware suitable for the mounting surface. Use of innappropriate hardware may result in dismounting of the mounting profile and can result in equipment damage, injuries, and death. HARDWARE REQUIRED: M6 or #10 SCREW (not supplied) CUTAWAY OF MOUNTING PROFILE END-TO-END MOUNTING: Leave a 2mm (5/64in) gap between mounting profiles. 2. FIXTURE INSTALLATION 2.1. Lay out HL luminaires along the mounting profiles. Ensure the input end of the first luminaire is facing the direction from which the power is being supplied. INPUT END (to power/data equipment) 2.2. Connect luminaires to one another before installing them onto the mounting profile. OUTPUT END (to end of line and connector cap) Connectors need to be firmly engaged for the snap to work properly. An audible CLICK will be heard when snap is fully inserted. Failure to connect luminaires correctly may result in fixture malfunction or damage. 2.3. Install connector cap on end HL luminaire s output connector to protect from electric shock and to maintain seal. Failure to install the connector cap may result in equipment or property damage and personal injury. CONTINUED ON PAGE 3 GVA Lighting Inc. is not responsible for printing or clerical errors. 2. FIXTURE INSTALLATION 2.4. Snap HL luminaire clips into corresponding profile notches (4 per module) in the channel of the aluminum mounting profile. Listen for an audible CLICK when inserting. Failure to install the fixture correctly can result in its dismounting which can lead to equipment and property damage, personal injury or death. NOTCH CLIP 3.A. FIXTURE CONNECTION: ELV 3.1. Connect the leader cable, and jumper cables (ordered separately) from the power supply to the first HL luminaire via mating connectors. Verify system is connected correctly and power the system on to test for proper function. Ensure power supply is turned OFF before making any connection. Connecting the luminaire while the power is turned ON may result in equipment damage. NOTE: Minimum bend radius for leader cables and jumper cable is 5x the outside diameter of the cable. (1.5in or 38.1mm) POWER-DATA LEADER CABLE (to 12~60VDC Supply) BLACK (-VDC) BLUE (ZH Data) RED (+ VDC) 12~60VDC and MAXIMUM LEADER CABLE LENGTH: 100ft (30m) (From power supply to first fixture) *NOTE: If connecting to power supply with no dimming control, twist BLACK (-VDC) and BLUE (ZH Data) wires together, then connect the pair to -VDC side of power supply.* GVA Lighting Inc. is not responsible for printing or clerical errors. 3.B. FIXTURE CONNECTION: INFINITY 3.1. Connect the leader cable (ordered separately) from the power supply to the first HL luminaire via mating connectors. Verify system is connected correctly and power the system on to test for proper function. Electric shock hazard. The DC conductors of this system are ungrounded and may be energized. Ensure 380VDC power supply is turned OFF before making any connections. Connecting luminaires while the power is turned ON may result in equipment damage, personal injuries, or death. HighlighterTM luminaires require 200-400VDC at 8.2A maximum. Power should only be supplied by GVA Lighting, Inc. INFINITY TM Power-Data equipment (ordered seperately). Line Control Data are input to the power-data equipment. BLACK (-VDC) & BLUE (ZH Data) (connected together to 0VDC) RED (+ VDC) POWER-DATA LEADER CABLE (to 380VDC Supply) GVA Lighting Inc. is not responsible for printing or clerical errors. 4. DIFFUSER INSTALLATION 4.1. Install the diffuser on the mounted fixtures by aligning the snaps located under the diffuser s body with the grooves located on the mounting profile. Ensure the diffuser is offset by 1mm on either side from the mounting profile to provide a 4mm gap between each diffuser. Apply pressure beginning at one end and gradually move towards the other end until the diffuser is fully snapped into place. NOTE: For vertical installations vents should be installed facing downward. 4.2. If the fixture is installed indoors, skip this step. For outdoor installation, insert two shims per fixture on the side rails of the mounting profile to secure the diffuser in place. To install, insert one end of the shim slush with the mounting profile and firmly push down until it is fully snapped into place along the full length of the profile. Failure to install the shims in outdoor applications may result in the dismounting of the diffuser which could lead to equipment and property damages, personal injury or death.
