1 Adding a Ht Ptates Activity Ht Ptates (versin 6.3 fr Windws, and versin 6.1 fr Java) has been a mainstay in develping interactive nline activities in language training fr mre than 10 years. The HtPt mdule allws teachers t add Ht Ptates quizzes and text recnstructin activities made with the TexTys tl t their curseware. These activities are created n the teacher's lcal cmputer. Once added t the curse using the HtPt mdule, students' scres fr these exercises are recrded in the curse grade bk. Detailed reprting n sme f these activities allws teachers t d an item analysis f questins in a quiz. Bth the Ht Ptates and TexTys authring tls are designed t help users develp their language skills. The activities use hints, tips, clues, and instructinal and custmized feedback t scaffld skill develpment. Teachers wh aren't familiar with Ht Ptates and TexTys can learn hw t use them in Stage 4 f the LearnITt2each training. Many f the SCORM activities were develped using these same tls. Using the HtPt Activity t Enhance Blended Learning Higher mtivatin and a greater sense f accuntability amng students ften ccur when quiz scres are recrded in a curse grade bk. Because f its easy- t- use interface, teachers can create nline activities fr students t wrk n with relative ease. Sme activity types, e.g. the multiple chice quiz, take lnger t put tgether due t the quiz frmat; hwever, ther activities, e.g. the gap fill r text recnstructin activities, can be generated quite quickly. This type f rapid develpment makes it easy t create nline activities that cnnect with the wrk in the face- t- face classrm. Step- by- Step Instructins fr Adding a HtPt Activity 1. An unscrambling the wrds t frm a sentence activity shuld nt have the same grade bk weighting as a reading cmprehensin activity. Set the Review ptins settings s the Ht Ptates activity des nt autmatically clse when students finish answering the last questin. Otherwise, they will nt be able t see their answers when they return t it. Use the dem versin f TexTys t add shrt (text recnstructin) activities fr lwer- level classes.
