TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS For the best E-CAR 2016 experience, LAUSD Facilities Technology Services recommends that users access the application using a computer that meets the following specifications: Runs on the Windows operating system Has the Chrome browser installed Connected to the District s network For those users who are unable to access a Windows machine running the Chrome browser or wish to access the application from outside the District s network, Facilities Technology Services offers access to the application via the Citrix application. Citrix allows users to connect remotely to a District server and from there access the application as if they were within the network. AUTOMATIC RE-DIRECT Most users who try to access E-CAR from outside of the LAUSD District network will be automatically redirected to the Citrix portal. Users inside the LAUSD District network who wish to access E-CAR via Citrix can reach the Citrix portal by clicking on the convenient Click HERE to access via Citrix link located on the E-CAR website. CITRIX CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS Once you reach the Citrix portal (fac-citrix.lausd.net), either through auto re-direct or by clicking the Citrix link on the E-CAR website, please follow these instructions: 1. You will see this screen (at fac-citrix.lausd.net): 2. If you are using Citrix for the first time on your current computer, you will need to install a Citrix client. Click on the Citrix ICA Client for Windows link as shown above page 1 of 12

11. As the application begins its installation, you will see a progress bar 12. When the Citrix client is installed, you will see the following confirmation window. Click Finish 13. Now that the Citrix client is installed, you are ready to access the E-CAR application. 14. At the Citrix portal, enter your lausd.net user name (firstname.lastname) and password and click Log In. 15. You are now logged in remotely to a District server using Citrix. In the Applications window, you will see a list of all remote operations you are able to perform. 16. Click the E-CAR icon. 17. Chrome browsers require that a user also downloads and launches the individual Citrix application via a launch file. A Save As window will appear asking where you would like to save the launch.ica file. Typically you will be defaulted to the Downloads folder, but if you d like to change the location navigate to a new folder and click Save. 20. At this point, depending on your local display settings, you may get a message informing you that the remote computer to which you connecting has different display settings to your local. Click OK to proceed. 21. Depending on local security settings, you may be asked to confirm that you are allowing the remote Citrix application to be used on your machine.
