1.0 Introduction These selectors are designed for up to 4 or 8 different sockets, and are easily connected to the I/O-port on the Tensor DS D312 or PF3000 Controller. No adapter cable is needed, only the communication cable 4222 0470.. and termination 4222 0443 00. Both selectors work with Tensor DS D312 & PF3000, not with PF2000 or Tensor DS D302. The basic functionality of the selector allows the operator to use the same tool for applications with different socket sizes and /or various torque levels, and automatically switch parameter set accordingly. Note Only ferro magnetic sockets can be used 2.0 Installation When installing the Selector 4/8 please follow instructions below. 2.1 Connectors Ref. Turn the switch to the right number/letter. The number indicates the node address on the I/O -Bus When delivered it is pre set to 5 for Selector 4 and 6 for Selector 8. For Tensor DS this should not be changed. For PF 3000, please read PF 3000 manual for detailed information Settings on Hex switch POS. 0 NODE ADDRESS Internal relay in PF3000. 2.3 Socket holders The socket holders are made of plastic. Holes shall be drilled so that the socket is close to the edge of the socket tray. The active region for the sensor for the socket is shown in Fig. 2. Make sure that the hole is drilled so that the socket is within this area. See drilling instructions below. 1. Remove the plate on the right side 2. Remove the plastic socket holders 3. Measure the sockets that you are going to use. 4. Place the socketholder upside down in a vice. 5. The hole for the socket is to be lined up with the edge of the guiding groove of the socketholder, as shown in fig. 3. Add approximately 1 mm of space between the hole and the socket. Drill size»(socket diameter + 1 mm). 6. Drill the hole according to fig. 3. 7. Repeat the procedure for every socket you are going to use. 8. Replace the socket holders in the order you want to have your P-sets. See chapter 5.0/ P-set Order. It is recommended that you use the mounting brackets, position 1, and fixture it to the surface. Place it so it is possible to see the LED s, position 2, next to each socket. Screw size 4mm. Fig. 6 2 1 Ø 4.5 3001020 2.7 Connectors and cables On the Selector there are two connectors for the I/O Bus. Both of these has to be connected. The drive is also equipped with two connectors for the I/O -Bus, which have to be connected as well. Every connector in the system has to be connected, either by a cable, 4222 0470.. (See page 8) or a termination, 4222 0443 00. Fig. 7 shows how the I/O-bus accessories shall be connected. 4 Atlas Copco Tools - No. 9836 1733 00

The maximum current output from the DS/PF3000 is 800mA. If there is additional equipment connected to the DS/PF3000 which together with the selector consumes more than 800mA it is necessary to have external power supply. External power to the selector is connected on position 1 in Fig. 1, named ext 24 VDC Input. Note: External Power supply used, has to be insolated and apply to National standards. 6.0 Technical specifications Over all dimensions Length Selector 4 Length Selector 8 Width Height Weight Selector 4 Selector 8 Power consumption Selector 4 Selector 8 Operating voltage Operating conditions Temperature Humidity 210 mm 410 mm 120 mm 65 (75) mm 1.1 kg 2 kg max 100 ma (normal 70 ma) max 140 ma (normal 70 ma) 24 VDC 0-50 o C (32-122 o F 5-95% non-condensing 6 Atlas Copco Tools - No. 9836 1733 00
