The manufacturer, Fbar Group S.A. wll not be held responsble for any loss or damage resultng from not followng the nstructons of operatng manual. General nformaton about the FIBARO System FIBARO s a wreless smart home automaton system, based on the Z-Wave protocol. All of avalable devces can be controlled through a computer (PC or Mac), smartphone or tablet. Z-Wave devces (nonbattery powered) are not only recevers, but can also repeat the sgnal, ncreasng the Z-Wave network s range. It gves advantage over tradtonal wreless systems that requre drect lnk between transmtter and recever, as a result the constructon of the buldng could affect network s range negatvely. Every FIBARO network has ts unque dentfcaton number (home ID). Multple ndependent networks can exst n the buldng wthout nterferng. Transmsson securty of FIBARO System s comparable to wred systems. Z-Wave technology s the leadng soluton n smart home automaton. There s a wde range of Z-Wave devces that are mutually compatble, ndependently of manufacturer. It gves the system the ablty to evolve and expand over tme. For more nformaton vst: www.fbaro.com.

14 15 #9: Powerng modes #10: Addtonal features! CAUTION Usng batteres other than specfed may result n exploson. Dspose of properly, observng envronmental protecton rules. The devce does not work as a Z-Wave repeater, even when connected to the external power supply. There are two powerng modes of the Swpe. By default, powerng mode of the devce s updated automatcally (n ntervals specfed n parameter 5) after changng type of supply. The Swpe sends detected gestures to the Z-Wave network mmedately, but confguraton parameters and assocatons settngs only at wake up (n tme ntervals or manually), ndependently of the powerng mode. Battery powerng mode - by default, the Swpe s suppled wth 4 batteres ncluded wth the devce (type AA 1.5V). They are not rechargeable and should be replaced after wearng out. The devce n ths mode uses power savng functon to preserve battery lfe. External supply mode - the Swpe can be suppled wth a 5V DC power supply connected to the mcro-usb port. In ths mode batteres wll work as an emergency supply. Power savng: When battery powered, the Swpe wll enter Standby Mode by default (sgnalled wth a low ptch beep) after 5 seconds of nactvty to reduce the battery usage. In Standby Mode range and frequency of detecton are reduced preventng normal gesture detecton. Operaton of power savng mode can be modfed n parameter 6. In order to ext Standby Mode: 1. Move your hand close to the centre of the pad. 2. Wat for the hgh ptch beep. 3. Move your hand away from the pad. 4. The devce s ready to detect gestures. 16 17 #11: Assocatons #12: Advanced parameters Assocaton ensures drect transfer of control commands between devces, s performed wthout partcpaton of the man controller and requres assocated devce to be n the drect range. By default 2nd-5th assocaton groups are set to toggle mode - sngle gesture wll reverse state of the assocaton group (turns ON when t s OFF, turns OFF when t s ON). Can be modfed va parameter 12. States of the assocaton groups are affected only by assgned gestures. Changng state of assocated devce by other means wll not update remembered state of assocaton group. Assocaton (lnkng devces) - drect control of other devces wthn the Z-Wave system network e.g. Dmmer, Relay Swtch, Roller Shutter or scene (may be controlled only through a Z-Wave controller). The Swpe provdes the assocaton of sx groups: 1st assocaton group Lfelne reports the devce status and allows for assgnng sngle devce only (man controller by default). 2nd assocaton group Flck UP s assgned to movng the hand up over the panel (sends Basc Set command frames). 3rd assocaton group Flck DOWN s assgned to movng the hand down over the panel (sends Basc Set command frames). 4th assocaton group Flck LEFT s assgned to movng the hand from the rght to the left sde of the panel (sends Basc Set command frames). 5th assocaton group Flck RIGHT s assgned to movng the hand from the left to the rght sde of the panel (sends Basc Set command frames). 6th assocaton group Crcular ArWheel s assgned to crcular move of the hand clockwse or counter-clockwse over the panel (sends Swtch Multlevel Start/Stop Level Change command frames). The Swpe n 2nd to 6th group allows to control 5 regular or multchannel devces per an assocaton group, wth the excepton of LfeLne that s reserved solely for the controller and hence only 1 node can be assgned. It s not recommended to assocate more than 10 devces n general, as the response tme to control commands depends on the number of assocated devces. In extreme cases, system response may be delayed. To add an assocaton (usng the Home Center controller): 1. Go to the devce optons by clckng the con: 2. Select the Advanced tab. 3. Specfy to whch group and what devces are to be assocated. 4. Wat for the confguraton process to end. Sendng relevant nformaton to devces added to assocated groups may take even a few mnutes. 5.
