Logging in In a web browser, go to http://modus.isoc.net The user will be brought to this page. 1. Enter in the FULL Email Address a. My email address 2. Enter in the Password a. My Password 3. The default language is English, click here to change the default language. 4. Click Remember Me for the browser to remember the username and password. a. ISOCNET does not recommend doing this on a shared computer. 5. Click LOGIN to check the quarantined email items.
Password Important facts to remember about your quarantine password. The password for quarantine is the same as your current email password. Your password cannot be changed within this interface. If you change your email password, your quarantine password also changes. o It will need to be updated and resaved if you use the Remember Me option. Successful Login A successful login will bring the user to this page. 1. Check Mail, Block Address/Domain, and Trust Address 2. Quarantined Email Options 3. 1-Check Mail, Block Address/Domain, and Trust Address The user will see these 3 icons at the top left side of the page. Check Mail Click this icon to Refresh the page and check if any new items came into the quarantine. Blocked Senders List Click this icon to change preferences, add a blocked sender, view the list of blocked senders, or remove an email address from the blocked senders list. 1. PREFERENCES a. Decide what happens to a message when it is received from a blocked sender. The three options are, delete message immediately, block message into quarantine, or tag the message and let it pass through. b. Click the radio button next to the preference choice. 2. ADD A SENDER a. Blocked senders can be added by a specific email address or by an entire domain. 3. BLOCKED SENDERS LIST a. View the list of current blocked senders. b. Senders can be removed from this list. i. Click the X after the email address/domain you wish to remove. c. Anyone removed from this list may need to be added to the Trusted Sender s list.
Trusted Senders List Click this icon to add a trusted sender, view the list of trusted senders, or remove an email address from the trusted senders list. 1. ADD A SENDER a. Trusted senders can be added by a specific email address. 2. TRUSTED SENDERS LIST a. View the list of current trusted senders. b. Senders can be removed from this list. i. Click the X after the email address you wish to remove.
2-Quarantined Email Options These icons are found just below the check, blocked, and trusted senders list. These are the options you have for any email that ends up in quarantine. You can select one or multiple emails by clicking on the box on the left hand side, in front of the email. You can select all of the current emails in the quarantine by clicking Select All. Once you have the emails selected, you can complete one of five functions. Release Mail Click Release Mail to have the selected email(s) released to your inbox. This will allow the email to pass through one time. This does NOT add the sender to your trusted sender list. A prompt will appear. Check Report as legitimate mail. Click Release or Cancel. Release & Trust Click Release & Trust to have the selected email(s) released to your inbox AND to have the sender added to your trusted senders list. A prompt will appear. Check Report as legitimate mail. Click Release & Trust Sender or Cancel. Delete & Block Click Delete & Block to have the selected email(s) deleted from your quarantine AND to have the sender added to your blocked senders list. A prompt will appear. Click Delete & Block Sender or Cancel. Delete Click Delete Mail to have the selected email(s) deleted from your quarantine. This does NOT block the sender from sending future emails. A prompt will appear. Click Delete or Cancel. Clear All Clicking this will clear all of the emails. A prompt will appear. Click Clear All or Cancel.
3-Items of Email(s) displayed for Quick Access Key items of each quarantined email are displayed for quick access. The user can quickly scan these items to look for legitimate emails. There are 5 key areas displayed. TYPE: This tells the user why this email was quarantined-newsletter, adult, money, health, links, virus, forbidden, and miscellaneous. Author: This tells the user which email address the email came from. Subject: The subject line of the quarantined email is displayed here. Date: The date and time the email was received is listed here. Size: The size of the email is listed here. Show Columns: The user can display each column name or hide the column names. 4-Search Use the search box to quickly search for items from a specific email address or emails containing certain key words or phrase. Simply type in the search word or phrase and hit enter. The results will be displayed in the Quick Access area.
5-Username and Preferences, Settings, Aliases, Reports, or Logoff The user s email address appears in the top right hand corner. Click on the email address to view Preferences, Settings, Aliases, Reports, or Logoff
Preferences The user can determine basic preferences about the Quarantine report. 1. Language: English is the default for our users. 14 total languages are offered. 2. Time Zone: ISOCNET s server is the default time zone, Eastern Standard Time. Users can change the time zone here.
Settings-filtering levels and SPAM categories Clicking Settings allows the user to customize individualized settings. 1. The user can individualize the settings for Phishing, Virus, Forbidden Attachments, Spam Filter, and Language Filter. a. A filter level of Disabled, Normal, Strong, or Extreme can be selected from the dropdown box. b. The message can either be deleted immediately, blocked into quarantine, or marked as SPAM and passed through (This option is not available on viruses and forbidden attachments) c. Recipients and/or senders can be notified of messages containing viruses or forbidden attachments. This may be beneficial as it will make others aware of possible threats. 2. Content to be filtered and blocked as SPAM is selected here 3. Languages beside the default language can be blocked from here. There are 37 languages to choose from. Click on the language and then the right arrow to move a language from permitted to blocked.
Aliases The user s aliases can be viewed here. ISOCNET asks that users do not add aliases from here. The alias will not be saved on the server, so it will not work correctly. Please contact ISOCNET to add an alias.
Reports-Schedule and Contents The user can customize the report schedule and the contents of the report here. 1. Generate Report Now: The user can generate a report anytime by clicking this. This is useful for verifying the changes the user has made now show on the quarantine report. 2. Set Report Schedule: The user can determine how often a report is sent. Reports can never be sent or sent every number of hours, days, or weeks. The reports can also be sent every day or only on weekdays. 3. Select Report Contents: The user can customize if each quarantine report shows ALL quarantined items or only new items since the last report. 4. SPAM Probability Levels: The user can choose which probability levels of SPAM are to appear on the quarantine report. If the user does not want to be bothered by emails that have a high level, simply click that box so the check mark disappears. Emails with a high probability of SPAM will no longer show on the user s quarantine report. 5. Select items to be reported: The user can choose which items (spam, viruses, phishing, and/or forbidden attachments) are to be shown in the quarantine report. 6. Show these Message Details in Report: The user can decide which details are important to be displayed in the Quarantine Report. There is NOT a SAVE button. Changes are automatically saved without prompt. Logoff Clicking Logoff will redirect the user to the Login Screen.
