1 INTRODUCTION To be able to perform service and repairs in a professional, correct and timely way you will need accurate technical information. Volvo Cars Technical Information Shop (TIS) provides this information together with Owner s Information for Volvo Cars. The URL to the Technical Information Shop is https://tis.volvocars.biz/tis. The Technical Information Shop is available in 15 different languages in most markets. Change to preferred language by clicking on a flag before you log in. The language is shown in English when the mouse pointer is held over a flag. To change language when you are logged in, go to Profile Profile options Choose your language. In the header you can see if you are logged in or not. You will also find links to Print and Help in the header. User Data, in the middle of the page, displays the number of items there are in your shopping basket. At the bottom of every page, you will find links to: CONTACT US displays contact information FAQ Frequently Asked Questions Online payment Information about credit card transactions Privacy Policy Volvo s information-gathering policy Copyright Information about copyrights Terms & conditions Information about general terms and conditions. 1.1 Account set up 1.1.1 Independent operators with TIE access Long-term independent operators (non-authorized Volvo Dealers) should be registered by the Sales company. 1.2 Login for registered users Fig. 1 Login page Choose a language and start your Technical Information Shop (TIS) session by logging in. To receive a username and password, see chapter 1.1 Account set up on page 3. Fig. 2 Name and number of items When logged in, TIS displays the Search page. Your name [1] and number of items [2] in the basket are shown. For problems regarding login and password, please see chapter 1.4 Helpdesk/support on page 7. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 4

1.2.1 Forgotten user name and/or password Fig. 3 Forgotten password If you do not remember your user name and/or password: 1. Click on Forgotten password on the start page. 2. Fill in your email address. Use the email address you have registered in TIS. 3. Click on Remind me. Your user name and password will be sent to your email. 1.2.2 Change password It is possible to change a password on the login page. Click on Change password and fill in the empty fields before you login. The password can also be changed on the Profile page, see chapter 4 Profile on page 16. The password must contain at least six letters or numbers. We recommend that you use both uppercase and lowercase letters. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 5

1.3 Self-registration Fig. 4 Register as a new user If you are an independent operator (non-authorized Volvo Dealer) or a car customer, click Register to register as a new user. Fig. 5 Self-registration When registering, enter the correct information in the boxes. All information with an asterisk (*) is mandatory. The user name and password should be between 6 and 10 characters and only contain letters and numbers. The user name and email address must be unique. Read and accept the Volvo terms and conditions and then click Register. When the user has been successfully registered you will automatically come to the Search page. 1.3.1 VAT number A VAT number is mandatory in order to purchase VIDA and wiring diagrams. Note Complete this section only if you are registered for EEC value added tax and have a current VAT number. Fig. 6 Profile page, VAT registered Enter the VAT number with only capital letters and numbers, with no spaces or other characters. 1.4 Helpdesk/support Contact channels for support issues are dependent on user type. An independent operator who does not have access to TIE, and/or car customers should always contact the TIS Helpdesk. Communication tools are email. All contact information is available under Contact us, at the bottom of the website. Fig. 7 Contact information 1.5 Access levels The Technical Information Shop (TIS) has different access levels for different users. The access levels for each type of users are described below. 1.5.1 Non-authorised dealer/independent operator Self-registration at first login. Order publications. Order VIDA subscriptions (applies in Europe only and only for users with a valid VAT reg. no.). Pay with a credit card. 1.5.2 Car customer Self-registration at first login. Order publications. 2 SEARCH Fig. 9 Search page The search page will be displayed first when you have logged in. Here it is possible to search for Volvo information products. Start your search by entering as many search criteria as possible. Use the drop down menus to choose product category, car model and so on. You must enter at least one search criteria to perform a search. Click on Search [1] to get the search results in a list. The default product language [2] is set to English. Use the drop down menu to change it if you are looking for products in another language. 2.1 The search results The search results are shown in a list. If there are many results, the list will be on several pages. Click on the arrow or a page number [1] to view next page. TP-number: This is a unique number for each publication. The number is usually found on the reverse side of the publication. Release Date: The date when the product was released. For more specific details about any product, click View product information. When you have located the correct product add it to your basket by clicking Add to basket. The product is now placed in the basket, see chapter 3 Basket on page 11. You can add an extra copy by clicking once more on Add to basket. You can also add extra copies in the basket by changing digit in the Quantity box. Now you can go back and start a new search. When all of the products that you would like to purchase have been placed in the basket, go to the basket by clicking on Basket [2] in the top menu. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 10

3 BASKET Fig. 10 Basket In the basket it is possible to: 1. Remove unwanted products. 2. Change quantity of the items. Click Recalculate to view the total purchase amount. This confirms the change and lists the new total purchase amount. 3. Empty the basket. 4. Go back to search for more products. 5. Proceed to checkout. Products in your basket will remain there even if you log out/disconnect. Click on Empty basket to empty the basket. Quantities less than 0 and greater than 10000 will not be accepted by TIS. Please enter figures only, no commas or decimal points. 3.1 Pay 3.1.1 Checkout When you have put everything you need in the basket, click on Proceed to checkout, see Fig. 10 on page 11. 3.1.2 Delivery address Fig. 11 Delivery address Choose which address you would like to have the products delivered to. You can use an existing delivery address by clicking the Contact Name [1] next to the address or add a new, temporary delivery address by clicking Add address [2]. Fill in the empty fields, all information with an asterisk (*) is mandatory, and click Proceed. The products in this purchase will then be sent to the temporary address. 3.1.3 Order options Your available delivery options, including freight charges, are displayed. Choose the preferred Shipping option by marking the preferred alternative. Fig. 12 Order options If the order weighs more than 26 kg, you will be contacted to arrange the optimal freight method. This freight will be billed separately. 3.1.3.1 Notes Notes, see Fig. 12 on page 12. Use this area to write any comments or notes to be included with the order. These notes are purely for your own use, no messages or comments can be sent to Volvo. The field may be left blank. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 12

Continue by clicking Proceed. 3.1.4 Basket payment when using a credit card Fig. 13 Credit card details Enter the credit card details and the address of the credit card holder. 1. Choose Card Type - Select the credit card type you have, for example Visa or MasterCard. 2. Credit Card Number - Enter the 16 digit number on the credit card. Enter it with only digits, no spaces or other characters. Fig. 14 Credit card The credit card number is on the front of the card. You also find the expiration date there. The reference number is usually on the back of the card, in the field for the signature. Note Enter the credit card number without spaces or other characters. 3. Expiry date - The information about the expiration date (month and year) is on the credit card. This date may also be called "Good thru" or "Valid thru" on the credit card. 4. Security code - This is NOT your PIN code! Your Security Code is a 3-digit number found on the back of your card, often written over the signature strip, see the figure above. 5. Enter the credit card holder s address. 6. Click Proceed when all boxes are filled out. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 13

3.2 Confirmation 3.2.1 Order overview Fig. 15 Order overview The final step of the purchase process is displayed. Please review all the information about your purchase. When everything is correct click, Confirm order. Note You must click Confirm order to submit the order. It is not possible to change or undo the order after this step. 3.2.2 Order confirmation Fig. 16 Order completed The order is now completed. The information products that have been ordered will be delivered in accordance with your choice of delivery method. Your purchase ID is shown in the middle of the page. It is possible to print a copy of the order. Order confirmation will be sent to you by email. It is not possible to reply to the order confirmation address. 4 PROFILE Fig. 17 Profile page You can edit your profile to change: Name Email address Click on Update user [1] after editing. Links to Shows transactions and My product requests are listed below the Profile options [2]. Here, you can also change your password and select another language. Click Show transactions to check all completed transactions in TIS. Click My product requests to list products that you have previously expressed an interest in and that are not yet in stock. You will receive an email when your requested information product is available. To change a password click on Change password. For more information about passwords, see chapter 1.2.2 Change password on page 5. The Subscriptions option [3] shows your VIDA subscriptions. Those who are authorized to buy VIDA can upgrade their VIDA subscriptions. 4.1 Addresses You can view and edit addresses [4] for your company from the Profile page. The addresses are: Delivery addresses the product delivery address. You must provide a delivery address because of the sales taxes (VATs) in different countries. Billing address To add and/or change any details of the billing address, please contact your Volvo administrator. VIDA address the address to which the VIDA DVDs are to be delivered. This information is transferred from VIDA Admin. It is not possible to edit the VIDA address in TIS. It must be done in VIDA Admin. It is not possible to order VIDA without a VIDA address. 5 PRODUCT INFORMATION Fig. 18 Product Information Search Product information by category provides a description of each category, specifications and other related information. Select a Master Category [1], from the drop down menu, to see the list of categories [2]. Then select one of the categories from the drop down menu to view the information. Any questions about the information are handled via TIE. If you are an independent operator with no connection to TIE, use the Contact us link at the bottom of the page. 6 PUBLICATION SUBSCRIPTION In TIS, it is possible to order subscriptions for different kinds of publications: Pocket Data Booklet Wiring Diagram. The customer orders the subscription and pays in advance. All products are then delivered to the customer every time an update has been released. Payment for delivery is included in the annual subscription price. If the customer chooses to order a subscription late in the period, March1 - December 31, the price will be the same. The customer will receive all products released during the whole period. If a customer chooses to order a subscription between January 1 - February 28, he/ she must decide if the subscription is to start on March 1 (the start of the next 12- month period) or be available at once in the current period. If the customer chooses the current period, all products released during the past year will be delivered. The invoice is always issued on the date when the order is placed. If the customer would like to delete licenses in a subscription, he/she must contact the TIS helpdesk. If the customer wishes to add more licenses this is possible if a new purchase is made. 6.1 Purchasing subscriptions Choose subscription in Search criteria. This is done in the same way as for any other product, see chapter 2 Search on page 9. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 18

7 ORDER DETAILS, VIDA When VIDA has been ordered, there will be a key code on the invoice. The key code provides information about the order: The first letter indicates the order type: N (New), U (Upgrade) or R (Renewal). The second letter and one to tree digits indicates the duration of VIDA subscription: H1, D1, D30, D90 or D365. The next three letters indicates the type of VIDA ordered: AIO (VIDA All-in-one) or WEB (VIDA on web). The next number indicates the actual number of licenses ordered. The rest of the key code indicates which packages have been ordered. P (Parts) +S (Service) +D (Diagnostic) +SW (Software download). ND30AIO3PSDSW is an example of a key code. It is explained below. N D30 AIO 3 PSDSW This is a new order. The duration of VIDA subscription is 30 days. VIDA All-inone was ordered. 3 licenses were ordered. This order includes Parts, Service, Diagnostic, Software download. If you hold the pointer over the information symbol the VIDA subscription ordered. you will get information about 7.1 Order extra VIDA DVD You always get the latest VIDA DVD when you subscribe on VIDA All-in-one. If you upgrade your subscription or order a new subscription we will not send out a new DVD if you already have one that is valid for your new subscription. If you need an extra DVD you will be able to order one for an extra cost. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 19

9 TYPE CASE DESCRIPTION 9.1 Order an Owner s Manual 1. Start with a search on the Search page. Choose: Owner s Manual in the Product Category Model Language for the publication, etc. 2. Click on Search when you have entered as many search criteria as possible. The search result is shown in a list. 3. Click on Add to basket to choose the owner's manual you would like to order. If the owner's manual is out of stock, click on Product request to be informed when the item is available again. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 21

4. Go to the basket by clicking Basket [1] in the top menu. 5. If you would like to order extra copies change the number in the Quantity box [2]. 6. Click on Proceed to checkout [3] if you do not plan to order anything else. 7. Choose Delivery address by clicking on Contact name for the address or add a new address. 8. Choose preferred Shipping option by marking the preferred alternative. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 22

9. Write any comments or notes to be included with the order. Then click on Proceed. 10. Review all the information about your purchase. When everything is correct click Confirm order. 11. Fill in your credit card details, see chapter 3.1.4 Basket payment when using a credit card on page 13and click Proceed. 12. The order is now completed. Order confirmation will be sent to you by email. It is possible to print a copy of the order. 13. Click Logout [1] to end the session or go to Search [2] if you would like to place another order. 9.2 Order VIDA To order VIDA, you must first enter a VIDA delivery address, see chapter 4.1 Addresses on page 16. Note It is not possible to order VIDA before a VIDA address and a VAT number is entered. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 23

1. Go to Search page and select VIDA in the Product Category, or enter VIDA in the field for Keyword /Phrase. 2. Click on Search. The search results are shown in a list. 3. Click on Configure subscription. 4. Choose if you would like to order a VIDA on web or a VIDA All-in-one in the drop down list and click Start. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 24

5. Add the Number of licenses [1] required. Select the language [2] that the VIDA DVD should be in. Choose a duration [3] for the subscription. Choose Optional packages [4]. For VIDA All-in-one (AIO) you can choose four different packages. VIDA on web only has two (parts and service information). Mark and click Add for the ones you need (one by one). Select if you would like to order an extra DVD [5] or not, only visible for customers that have ordered a VIDA subscribtion before. First time you order VIDA All-in-one you will receive the VIDA DVD automatically. For more information, see chapter 7.1 Order extra VIDA DVD on page 19. Proceed by clicking Calculate price [6]. You can see the total price of the VIDA subscription that you have choosen. 6. Click on Proceed. 7. Click on Add to basket. Volvo Car Corporation 2011 72EN08 25

8. Go to the Basket. You can see the total price for this invoice period. 9. Read and click the VIDA privacy agreement [1] before clicking Proceed to checkout [2]. Continue in the same way as for ordering an owner s manual, see chapter 9.1 Order an Owner s Manual on page 21 step 6. When VIDA has been ordered, there will be a key code on the invoice. The key code provides information about the order, see chapter 7 Order details, VIDA on page 19. 9.3 Update a VIDA Subscription 1. Log in to TIS. 2. Select the Profile tab. 3. 4. Click on Edit. 5. Edit the subscription. To extend the subscription select duration from the drop down menu. 6. To continue click Calculate Price. You can see the total price of the upgrade VIDA subscription that you have choosen. Continue in the same way as for order VIDA, see chapter 9.2 Order VIDA on page 23 step 6. 9.4 Order an extra VIDA DVD To order an extra VIDA DVD do the same way as when you update an existing VIDA subscription, see chapter 9.3 Update a VIDA Subscription on page 26. 9.5 Find a transaction and invoice 1. Go to Profile to find information about transactions and invoices. 2. Click on Show transactions. 3. Enter the search dates, invoice number (you have to add "00" before the number) or other search criteria. Choose the transaction status you want to search in. Click on Search.
