Using the Lumens DC130 Document Camera Connection Once installed, the basic connection setup should already be done for you. When set up correctly, you should be able to use programs on your computer AND project from the document camera at the same time. If this doesn t work (or if your document camera is not yet connected), please use the diagram below as your guide. The video signal (VGA) cables run from the computer to the input on the splitter box first. From there, the splitter splits the video signal in two: 1) One cable goes through the document camera and on to the LCD projector. (Into the document camera at the VGA IN port, and then out to the wall plate from the VGA OUT port). 2) The other cable goes from the splitter directly to your computer monitor. Power Connection The document camera and the splitter box both require power: The power cord runs from the AC connection to your power strip. The power cord on the splitter box must also be plugged into the power strip. Button Overview Control Knob Location Power Button Location of buttons and knobs Press the red button to turn on the document camera. The light on the button will turn blue to indicate that it is on. Adjusting Focus To adjust the focus, turn the knob on the top. Turn this to adjust focus.
Adjusting the Light If the image seems too bright or dark, turn the knob. Turn it to the left to make it darker and to the right to make it brighter. If you are having any trouble with glare move the light away from or closer to the document. Turn knob without pushing it to change brightness. Move the light away from the document to reduce glare. Zoom In and Out You can zoom in and out two different ways. First, you can move the arm up and down. Or you can press the black knob once and turn it to have it zoom in digitally. Connect the USB cable from the document camera to the computer. Connect the flat end of the USB cable to your computer. (You can use either the USB ports on the front or in the back of the computer.) Document Camera
Using the Lumens View II Image Capture software Capturing an Image with View II 1. Make sure that the document camera is turned on and connected to the computer using the USB cable. 2. Click From to the Start button, click on Programs and then PSProductUBAP. (The icon looks like this: ) 3. Click on the VCR button on the top right. The image from the document camera will appear on the screen. This is the VCR button. Click it to make the document camera image appear on your screen. Capturing an Image Move the object or document under the document camera, until it is arranged the way you want it for the picture. 1. When you are ready to capture a picture of the object click on the Camera button as shown below. 2. Then, click the capture button at the bottom of the page. 1. Click the camera button when you are ready to take the picture. 2. Click Capture to take a picture of it.
3. Browse to your F:\ drive space to choose a Save in location. Give the picture a name and click Save. The filename and the Save button Inserting/Viewing a Saved Picture The picture files that you capture are saved as images. You can insert them into Word, PowerPoint, Publisher or into many other programs. To find insert your image into Word, PowerPoint, Publisher or other programs: 1. From the Insert menu, choose Picture and From File 2. Browse to the image file that you saved. Double-click the file to insert (or click it once to select it, and then click the insert button). Select the file and then click insert You can resize the image in your document by clicking and dragging the handles on the corners until the picture is the desired size.
