How to export your Address Book from Despatch Manager Online (DMO) The process to export your Address Book from DMO is really simple. Login to DMO, click on the Addresses tab and select Export Addresses This will generate a csv containing all of your address book information. Open the file as you will now need to format the file in order for you to import your addresses into Click & Drop. To do this, copy one of the ~ symbols from the data, then select the column that contains your address data and then click on the Data tab and choose Text to columns Exporting your Address Book from Despatch Manager Online & importing it into Click & Drop 12/01/18 Page 1 of 9
A wizard window will open. Select the Delimited option and click on Next Now, select Other and in the white text box, paste in the ~ symbol (shift & #), as shown right and then click on Next. Your address data will now show across the columns. You will need to insert a row at the top so that you have a header row. In the header row, add some column names to make it easier for you to identify the data when it imports. You must include an address reference in order for the data to save to your Click & Drop Address Book. In this example, the address reference is in Column C, which is the DMO address code. If any data is in the incorrect column, you can move it to the correct column and then save the file. How to set up your Address Book in Click & Drop Uploading your customer address details into Click & Drop is easy to do in just 3 simple steps. You only need to map the fields of your spreadsheet once. Now simply follow the steps: Step 1. File upload Click on the Upload a file button and a new window will open: Drag and drop your file or click on the csv icon to upload your file. Once the file is added, choose the Column delimiter from the drop down list and then click on the Upload file button Once the file is uploaded, you will see that the file name is displayed in the File upload section: Step 2. Import settings: For the Name format field choose from the drop down menu, choose First and last names are combined from the drop down menu. If you want to add the billing addresses so that they are the same as the shipping address, click in the box to activate this. Step 3. Field Mappings This is where you need to map the column header names on your spreadsheet to the equivalent field name in Click & Drop. You will see that there is a help message to help you to identify where errors are or where fields are missing. To map the fields, use the drop down menu in each column to choose the correct option for the data in your file, you can see your data underneath to make it easier to map correctly. If a field in your data doesn t need mapping ignore it. For example in the data below, There is no need to map column 1 as it doesn t relate to any data or reference that needs to be included in my address book Use the arrows to move across to map and view the relevant columns. Please note that there are mandatory fields that your data must have as a minimum, these are: Address Book reference (suggest using the DMO address code field for this) Full name Shipping address - Address line 1 Shipping address - City Shipping address - Postcode Please note that with Click & Drop you can have non Latin or foreign characters, such as circumflexes etc in your address data and these will print onto your label. Once you have mapped the mandatory columns correctly, you will see the message You ve mapped all of the required fields'. Now all you need to do is click on the Import orders. If all the data within the file is correctly formatted, you will see a message at the bottom of the screen confirming that data has been imported: To delete the orders that have been created as part of this upload process, click on the (see imported batches) link Take a note of the Batch number, in this example it s B1100. and use the filter on the Batch Number column to filter all orders in the batch produced, Click on Apply Now click in the circle in the header row in Click & Drop, this will select all the orders for your batch Now select Delete from the menu at the bottom of the page and click on Go. This will delete the orders from your view but if you go to your Address Book, you will see that the addresses have uploaded and saved. If there are any issues with the address data, then you will see an error message at the bottom of the screen like this: To see what the error is, simply click on the see errors link which will then take you to this page: Simply click on the Import number and the error messages are displayed. Click on Undo import so that you can then correct the errors on the file and then re-submit.
