Restrictions and cautions Open problems and workarounds List of resolved problems Resolved problems in 143 201503020204 Symptom: After a random period of runtime (which typically has been observed to be several weeks) all ports stop providing PoE power. Condition: This is a timing issue between the Comware7 software and the PSE software running on the power controller. When the Comware7 software is very busy the timing issue can occur. Resolved problems in 140 Symptom: Occasionally (perhaps 1 in 100) no PoE power is provided after the switch reboots. Condition: This symptom occurs due to a random timing issue in the PoE initialization software. Appendix A Upgrading software Upgrading at the CLI You can remotely download the PoE file at the CLI. Upgrading PoE through FTP This section uses the topology in Figure 1 as an example. Run FTP server on the management PC at 202.10.10.53, create an FTP username admin and password, specify the source file path, telnet to the switch, and get the software package file from the server. When PoE is operating incorrectly, or PoE cannot be upgraded by using the previous method, upgrade PoE in full mode: <HP>system-view System View: return to User View with Ctrl+Z. [HP]poe update full 5130-POE-xxx.bin pse 4 This command will fully update firmware on the specific PSE(s), Continue? [Y/N] :y System is downloading firmware into the hardware. Please wait............ Update firmware on the specific PSE(s) successfully! NOTE: The device stops supplying power to PDs during the PoE upgrade process. After the upgrade is completed, the device continues to supply power to the PDs. After the upgrade is completed, you can use the display poe pse command to view whether the upgrade is successful. For more information, see Note 1. Upgrading PoE through TFTP The switch can work as a TFTP client to download files from a TFTP server. The upgrade procedures are the same as upgrading PoE through FTP. 6
